Another Master Class you gave to those young fellas (and us)! You are an outstanding instructor. And your key to it, as you have said many times, is respect!
One of the best feelings for a young person is having someone older and more experienced teaching him and supporting his work. It gives us courage! Greetings from Brazil!
Buckin'... I was cuttin' firewood for my dear old Grandma with a 372XP back in the day when her Son, my Uncle came home from whatever "trip" he'd been on and he stood next to me for a couple awkward bucks. He didn't teach me anything, only added pressure and it was then I realized he had nothing to teach me as he was still learning himself. I'm certainly still learning but watching you encourage this young man made me feel the way I wished my Uncle had made me feel that day. Thank you for not only carrying the torch but passing it along where you can!
Thank you for the awesome video buckin! I really am impressed with MYSELF after going into the woods and taking what you have taught me. You are a superb teacher!
Hey Billy, when my father was alive and living in a place called Cooks Mills, which is at the eastern side of Welland, he had a McCullough chain saw. What he used in the basement of that house was an electric motored chainsaw. He additionally had a green one, except I don't remember what company it was from. I used that McCullough many times on that farm. I'm certainly glad that I didn't permanently make myself with it. I was such a bold person at that time. Continue having yourself an excellent day. B'bye.
I'm an Apprentice Carpenter In ireland. I'm nearly qualified and once I am I'd love to go to canada for a short while and work as a lumberjack ❤ awesome job
Great video as always i found this channel couple of months ago and I never looked back always a learning experience Buckin you sir are a Legend over and out
Happy to have found your channel. Concur no feeling in the world like using your hands no matter the tool being used, as it becomes an extension of your mitts. Heavenly bliss arriving at that happy place.
I’m absolutely jealous of my native brother 😂😂 I’d love to work with Buckin 🤙🏾 I run a brushing and tree 🌳 planting crew here in Northern BC and can’t agree enough with having to make sure you’re guy’s are being efficient and safe at the same time, I’ve watched the video previous to this one and off to the next, thanks for your teaching BUCKIN🤙🏾 and definitely agree with learning how to file free hand, my late father was a faller and definitely learned a ton from him, I’m not a certified faller but I can guarantee I can fall quite well, I actually get called to knock down some big hemlock or cedar trees when needed. Much respect Buckin 👍🏾🤙🏾
Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing how to file. I’ve got a long way to go with filin but you have shown us the way it works with your experience, much appreciated. That young man will go far,,, he listens to Men that Know. Bless you Buckin!!
Priceless. The smile on the young man's face was priceless. And I hope it fills your heart up to pass on some knowledge that has changed that man's journey. My mum always says that we never know what people are going through unless they tell you, and the smallest kind gesture might just make someone's day or more. Love you all.
Love seeing you share your experience with those that appreciate it Buckin. Puts a huge smile on my face to see that young man takin it all in. Love ya brother thank you. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
Buckin. Awesome job as always. Great placement of the trees. What a beautiful setting for buckin up trees, vitamin D and the water. Another great teaching and learning video. ❤ thanks Buckin.
Great post again Billy Ray, great cutting tips working your chain saw and always, always your video ends with a feel good message - I love it. Thank You sincerely 👍👍
You old silver fox son of a GUN! Thank you for the videos you keep bringing us! You’re a legend, and a handsome one at that 😮💨 I’m just playing, but seriously, good on ya for looking that good at your age.
great view again. nice to see the sea. a few weeks back i cleaned up a nackered old ski jump chain and gave it sharp C's on the profile. it bited real nice and helped me do a wicked falling job. always worth the time to get your teeth biting clean sharp an straight 💯 happy days billy
Thank you, Buckin' :) Made my day and put a smile on my face - in addition to put some extra tips in my tool box. Looking forward to yet another weekend in the wood with my saws :)
I really love seeing these interactions you have with the first nations peoples, its organic, its sincere, and its wonderful to watch. Keep on keeping on buddy
No time like Mac time! Been waiting lol. The new hoodie looks amazing hoping to pick one up soon. All I wear all winter is buckin hoodies lol. Did I mention them old macs are just amazing. May have picked up a 550. Super excited. That ripsaw 500i is insane. Chain is clearly primo too. Super fast cutting. Nice work ⛓️🪚🌲🪓🪵 yep let the saw find that happy spot and just let her eat. You can see the youngster taking it in and learning. That’s a hard thing to find it seems like. The way you react when he gets it right helps a ton. He lights up when you react. You changed that young fellas life. Good man
having a guy like buckin teach you is like the biggest blessing a young faller can have these old timers have learned these things the hard way specially if they started when the saws were new things
You talk about changing that young man. Well I'm here to tell you that you have changed many many MANY men's woodsman abilities! And we are all very thankful for this! Love wins! Keep up the great work 👍
Not just for the young as I’m about the same age as bucking billy Ray.. I don’t think I would’ve been able to clear a half acre of overgrown family land without his inspiration and wisdom just from watching his channel. ❤
Awesome video buckin!! Way to go on showing those younger lads how to run a saw with a good wood eater on it!! And for taking the time with them for a Lil tailgate chatski😊😊 good man brother and stay safe out there!!
Great video buckin idk much about saws or anything guess with it but love your videos got my first saw about 2 years ago small 14" for small things around the house
Perhaps the best background and a perfect day cutting you have ever videoed. I have watched a lot of your videos this may be my favorite for a while. 😊
Buckin’ that’s magic what u do for people show them your knowledge instead of telling them do it this way great stuff my friend being kind and love dose win your right
Hey Buckin , another awesome video , I just picked up a 372xp it’s in fantastic shape , I was wondering how I could go about getting a muffler for it from ironhorse or any one of muffler guys. Do they sell them to the general public ? Thanks so much everything you do for everyone in UA-cam land . 👍🏼👍🏼
The way you cut the stump on that first maple is exactly how I would have , luckily no nails . Every time I cut near a house I find some nails or a fence staple . Lol . 👍🇨🇦
I keep watching your videos and every tree you cut I notice how you do your face cut first straight in then you start on the side closest to you and and cut over to the far side and always comes out right or at least really dang close to right on how do you do it what angles are you puting your saw on to do this I have tried and tried and can not get it even close at all and I mess up the face cut every time I try to do it like that!! This may be a stupid question and maybe I’m missing something that’s right infront of my face but I can’t get it! Since finding your videos a cpl years ago I have bought 3 saws a used husky 460 a MS 290 and the newest being my MS400 I put a full wrap on this saw and a west coast saws saw kit and I love this saw! Anyway Im new to all this and I’m learning on my spare time and from local people who need little jobs done and I’m trying hard to get better at all this I have no one to help me one on one and everything iv learned iv learned from harvey “iron horse” and you buckn!! Anyway I don’t want to seem dumb asking something that’s probably really simple to most of you who have been cutting for years and years but I would love to know the trick to the way you make your face cuts!!
Another great video. I learned how to sharpen a chainsaw when I worked at a sawmill years and years ago but would love to have a guy like you show me the fine details. When I’m on the island some day?
Buckin, it’s nice to see your hands are beat up and a bit dirty again - just like a MAN’S should be!!! 💪 What an amazing mentor you are to that lucky young man with cutting, and to all of us with your messages of love, hard work and kindness.
