I have o refrain from asking my caseworkers to take off their shoes and make themselves comfortable hahahahaha...although I do tell them to make themselves comfortable. I don't do that stuffy work environment stuff in my home. My home is like Cracker Barrel "when your here, you're family."

Not everybody can understand accents very well. Like me for instance, I am hard of hearing and I have a difficult time understanding accents. I can't even understand some brits, irish and scottish people and they are all pretty much native English speakers. This woman was a good sport, anyone that gets up there to ask Steve a question knows anything is fair game. Quit being so sensitive.

Because he knew that he was the ONLY 1 that DIDN'T understand her accent. Sooo, making fun of her was probably the only way to make himself feel better about it. I absolutely enjoy this episode, especially as an immigrant😂 Mr. Harvey is genius as we all know already😻 Many years ago, we flew from Honolulu back to our home domicile, San Francisco. As I was saying good bye to our customers at the front aircraft door, this elderly woman with an endearing southern accent stopped and asked (holding the traffic flow behind her), “are you the person who was on the PA system?” (however, that wasn’t exactly what she asked😅) I said, “yes.” She replied in a higher tone - “you’ve got such a strong accent. You should go back to where you came from!” All I was able to do was to smile at her gently😊 Then, my flying partner who was standing next to me suddenly blurted out; “lady! Do you know how many languages she speaks?!? English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish!!! Now, other than English with that thick accent, which I can hardly understand, what else do YOU speak?!?” 😨😅 Later, I asked my partner how she knew that I spoke those languages, and she said, “I didn’t.” 😂😂😂😂😂 She’s so quick, witty, and smart😽 Don’t worry. We both gave the lady a hug, and she smiled before saying good bye to us🥰

I feel disgusted by this thing where people have double standards "Oh we don't want racially discriminated against because we are black" then you turn and discriminate your fellow black people for not having the same accent as you. You have yours because of the location you were brought up in could have been just the same if the woman was brought up in the same locale. Family feud has some of the heaviest accents but He understands I feel like people should learn to respect other people's feelings which would work to fixing most of the issues we have.
And they are not sensitive with strangers. They go on speaking with their sometimes strong accents cause they mostly dont know another language and have no feeling for that.
The Haitian lady is absolutely on the right path. You don't need any dirt or contaminated stuff from outside come inside your homes through footwear. One additional thing - Just keep an extra footwear stand near the entrance with a couple of stools/chairs to sit on for visitors/guests.
