My 7 yr old grandson informed me that he is going to make an iron man suit when he grows up ❤️ and asked me to make the iron man helmet like the other foam helmets I made him. Thank you for the free pattern!! Much appreciated!! I love your work!

There are a few factors in making an iron man costume. One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Dichali Costume Creator (google it if you're interested) it's the no.1 plan i've seen.look at the great info . Angela Woolsey

This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "iron man costume homemade" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Xenacob Heyndrew Guide - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my neighbour got cool results with it.

Another amazing video. I've done your Spawn tutorial and now am working on this one. I love that with each video I learn some new techniques. I also really enjoy working with the 5mm foam as opposed to the 10mm. Obviously a difference in stability, but for ease of building, it's really fun.

For any one going to make this, I would recommend cutting the faceplate a little shorter on the bottom and cover the empty space with that fabric to give the little mouth line you see in the movies. Also make sure to add some support to keep the faceplate attached. I might change quite a few things to make the faceplate detachable and to put lights in the eyes but otherwise this seems like a pretty nice build.

You should have used magnets to attach face plate so u can take it off and decorated the inside of the face plate and a light switch for the eyes

I done models when I was younger so I thought I would give your build a try. I ran into some issues first was the foam I could not find foam 3m or thicker I could only find 1m so to over come this with some extra work I glued 3 1mm foam together then I did my cutting. After cutting out all the pieces I had to reinforce all the edges with glue so they wouldnt split apart. Then I had to match up all the pieces to make sure they lined up this is when my dremel came in handy. After watching your video for the 20th time I glued everything. I used plastic dip as you did come to find out I was getting these little holes that were not filled with plastic dip to over come this I used Elmer's glue and painted the whole helmet with Elmer's glue that work get for me then I did 3 layers for plastic dip. Only issue I had was the seem down the middle of the helmet wasnt as smooth as I wanted it but I wanted some flaws cause it gives it character. Next issue I ran into was the eyes what to use for a lens to over come this I took a DVD spindle plastic case cause it was curved cut out they eyes and that work out great cause I can see though it. Next problem was I want they eyes to light up so I went to the dollar story and bought a led light that clamps to a baseball cap open that up this is wear my soldering skills came into play I rewired the power button so it attach to the back of the helmet and the eyes light up and I can still see though it. Right now I'm painting it which I suck at. I will post pictures once I'm done hopefully today or tomorrow I'll be finished. I would like to try another one it was a blast doing all together it cost me 30$ for all the stuff glue spray paint led painter tape foam. I would love to try antman or Darth vader just cant find the templates. I will have to admit I really enjoy doing this pictures to come.
