Where do I buy EVA foam with 8 mm and 4 mm thickness? I just found 2 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm and had to use the other thicknesses with another Kind of foam....it works but that foam is much more softer

You can but it's not recommended for helmets as there's tension pulling on the parts

Does the paint or clear coat crack on a flexible surface?

It is a slightly flexible finish, but it can still crack. My helmet isn't very flexible because of all the layers of modpodge and primer so it works for this project.
