BRILLIANT tutorial! Much better than Axkid's own guide. Great light (Axkid's movie is too dark), no rush (why are all other tutorials so quick?!) and I loved that you explained each step both verbally and non-verbally.

Thank you so much! It's nice of you to mention the light, I bought a car with a large sunroof for exactly this reason. :)

Thank you so much for this!
I'd watched Axkid's installation guide, but I found yours to be so much clearer! I now feel really confident in my ability to install this car seat!

It is really good tutorial. But I want just tell everoby, when you use the support leg. You have to put away your mat on the floor in the car. There shouldn't be the mat ;). Thank you, for tutorial. I want this car seat. But I am not sure about space. What do you think please. Honda Stream 2001. Do you think is it big enough car. I have 180 and I want sit next to the driver :)

When the seat and its leg are correctly and therefore tightly installed, having a mat under the leg is not a problem.
How well a seat fits into a car largely depends on the height of the adult in the front. The best thing to do to check whether a seat will fit is to measure the depth in the back seat at headrest height. Move the front (passenger) seat as far forward and as upright as is comfortably possible for the tallest person and then measure the depth between the two headrests. Most seats up to 125cm or 25kg take up about 80-85cm.

Hi, how do I install the axkid 3 to give the child more leg room? Each time I try, when I tighten the harness the seat goes forward and the leg room is gone.. would you be able to do a video showing how please?

      Hi,
The way to prevent that from happening is to fasten the tether straps first before you do the seat belt. I have shown how to do this on the Britax Max-Way.

I’ve followed every tutorial but the car seat seems to slide forward over a period of time. Does anyone else have this issue? Also the headrest is so narrow, personally hating this car seat

      Hi,
When this seat is installed correctly with the belt and the tethers as tight as they can go, the seat should not be able to move. You're welcome to send me some pictures via messenger (facebook.com/rearfacingtoddlers) and then I'll see if I can see any problems with your installation.

Just got one. the upper back area seems incredibly bare bones with the cushion stopping half way up the childs back. is that normal? or a part missing? it seems incredibly uncomfortable and dangerous.

This is completely normal, it's where the headrest slides up and down. It may look a bit uncomfortable, but it isn't. And why would it be dangerous?

@@RearFacingToddlershave you pushed down the head cushion when fastening the belt? It goes pretty far down (for the little ones)

My axkid seat will not recline sufficiently so my 1 year Old's head and neck are not supported properly. It is unusable. The reclining bar does not extend enough so the whole product is total rubbish. Anyone else have this issue?

Axkid do an angle adjusting wedge that you can put under the recline bar to chage the angle. Are you using the wedge?

@@RearFacingToddlers I do not see why I need to purchase this as an additional product when I have spend hundreds of pounds on the seat already. Who ships a product that requires additional purchases to be suitable and safe? As it happens, I did buy the wedge, but again, I shouldn't have had to. The wedge itself does improve the incline, but not by a lot. If they had made more settings on the incline bar (or increased the size of each setting because it's not much) in the first place then I wouldn't have to buy something that is essential to the safety of the seat as an optional extra. It's not optional for us.

Most retailers give away a free wedge when you buy the seat.
Cars have different seats, some are quite flat and some are very sloped. The reason that the wedge is optional is that you don’t need it in every car. If the seats are sloped the Minikid will be too upright without the wedge, but on flat seats the wedge will make the Minikid too reclined, so then you don’t need it.
