Those who've caused the horrible environment, in a round about way. Are those who've taught the person, not to cope and or confront the problems in life. Also they've created the environment, most likely. So they don't wanna be honest with themselves and are blinded or there sudistic themselves. So why take responsibility? They put 100percent on that user, also others haven't lived and don't understand. Perfect storm, with that and the drug war. I've lost so many friends and have lived through it myself.
When I think of addiction, I don't think of junkies in the alleys. I think of the signs in the clinics that say, "WE DO NOT DISPENSE NARCOTICS" and the people who work there who all have stories about "seeking". I'd say the seekers in the clinics are people who "live in Wichita, KS with a family and a job" or at least had them, so what gives? The whole Switzerland/Utah rationale to decriminalization is very, very interesting. Reminds me of Everett Koop's tenure as US Surgeon General.
That was brilliant. As a marxist I knew most of this but it's good to see it in the media as well. I've seen TRN on the issue of the war on drugs a lot before but no interview was as radical as this one.
Dude just said prescriptions rarely lead to addiction? Anyone that's ever been to rehab or an NA meeting can tell you that claim is laughable. Being prescribed opioids for an injury and then becoming an addict is a ridiculously common experience.
This guy is brilliant!!!
Fascinating!

A true utopian, a place where no one will choose the drugs over there lives.
