There's no consensus in medicine for age classification. In some you might be young old age. I just call my patients multiples of 21 rather than saying things such as "in older patients....." It really is about exercising 150 minutes+ per week and doing something you love that keeps your classic parts running like new models, rather than having your carbon recycled sooner ❤
As a retirement Mecca, South Florida has higher sentencing for perpetrators of crimes against “elderly”, so no worries! It’s just a legal term! … do you want me to get your walker or some oxygen? 😂😂😂😂💩💩💩💩
It's amazing how a multi billion $ industry can casually pass their payroll obligations on to the customers who are keeping their industry afloat while they continue to build bigger n bigger more costly ships, charging higher n higher cruise fares...this is the perfect business model.😊
I am sorry, but I refuse to cruise on Carnival anymore. The things I saw on my fourth Carnival cruise turned me off so much that I had to say never again.
I question whether the staff that deserves the gratuity actually receives it. I don't like the "gratuity" being on the bill. I prefer to give the room steward and wait staff a cash tip. This way I know it gets to the people that earned it.
Nor is it given to crew as such. The crew gets the fixed rate agreed upon when they were hired, w no extras such as tips. So the automatic “crew appreciation goes to pay their agreed on salary.
People cannot remove prepaid gratuities, but daily charged “crew appreciation” CAN be removed at the guest services desk at anytime BEFORE disembarkation day.
Tony, I'm 75 years old and will celebrate 50 years of cruising in February aboard the GOTS. It beats me how you get so pissed off at someone to hit them especially while on a cruise. My attitude on a cruise is about as mellow as possible especially when a little Woodford and ice are added! Bill
We are going to end up paying the extra for gratuities either on the front end hidden in the cruise fare, or on the back end in increased daily gratuities. The cruise lines will make sure it doesn’t come out of their pockets. So, the question is: Do you want the extra money for the crew hidden in your fare or do you want to know the daily amount?
That is absolutely disgusting. That is why I keep my mouth shut because there are crazy people out there. How old was the son? Guess she isn't getting any Mom of the year awards!!! Also, Tony, I just found out that one of my cousin went on a group cruise of yours. LOL-- I haven't spoken to him in years and never knew he cruised.
The 11 yrs drop in age from an average age of 66 to 55 yrs old) is the addition of a LOT of younger (20's-30's) cruising, and that might just be a player in the increase of fights we see onboard.
Since the cruise ship is registered in a foreign country, how does the police in Miami have jurisdiction to to arrest anyone for a crime committed either at sea or in another country?
gratuities go straight to the service personnel that serve you during your cruise. I am so sick of people getting upset about the gratuities that I wish cruise companies would give their service staff a big raise to cover those, and then add it to the price of the cruise so you would have no option to pay them in cash. That way, you could never get around paying that fee, which would likely be much higher than the 18.50 a day. Oh boo hoo! Now you are locked into a much more expensive cruise! It would be funny if the cruise prices went up double that wouldn't it? It would rid those of us who are not cheap scapes of having to deal with those who can't actually afford the true cost of the cruise and having to listen to them bitch the whole time about how dare they have to tip their service staff. Frankly, I have no problem giving my service staff on a cruise $50.00 a day because they work their asses off for us to have a great relaxing fun time. If I can't afford to pay the gratuity and then tip each service person personally on top of that then I figure I can't afford to cruise!
I’m 51. I’ve never cruised. Then COVID happened. I couldn’t leave the country and get stuck because I own my own company. So we decided to cruise. If we got COVID they still had to bring us back. lol. We fell in love. We have now taken 5 cruises and have 2 booked. 7 cruises in 3 and a half years!
Tony, those are truly lovely you tubers you were on Sun Princess with. Must have been a great trip. I simply LOVE ringing the bell and the “magic” hand comes out 😅😅
I started cruising in 1996 when I was 40 years old. The first cruise we went on was during spring break on the Carnival Imagination . What a mistake! We decided to try again in December and took our kids with us. What a difference! We have been cruising ever since.
I am 69 years old. Last year I was assaulted by a 20-something man at a Philadelphia Eagles game! I was wearing a 49ers sweatshirt (the 49ers were winning the game). Security did nothing. I will avoid Philadelphia at all costs now. I guess they have no law about elder assault there.
On the subject of increase gratuities and the question that followed it. I remember seeing all kinds of deals from Princess that I am not seeing now. And if they have one, there are so many stipulations to it, makes you wonder. C'mon cruise lines, give some back please.
Agreed. I’ve been cruising for 20yrs & miss the cushy experience they used to give. Now ppl don’t know better & pay and the exorbitant prices w/o flinching
True American Alabama Mom: Sweet HOME ALABAMA, LAWD I'M COMING HOME TO YOU🎼🎶🎵🪕🎹...Welp, since they're from Alabammy, send off song was appropriate after disembarking 🤣😂😂🤣
Hi Tony. Crazy people on cruise ships. Very cool, ring a bell and get handed a glass of champagne. All the gratuities have gone up. As always thank you for all you do ❤
MSC - have you contracted Carnivalitis? What’s going on? Sun Princess-,what a cool wall!! Cruisers are aging out, sad!! I’m now older! Royal-we are funding their raises!!!
I know people from Huntsville. This made their local news. Unlike places like Miami, NY, or LA I can guarantee you that all of this is being discussed amongst their family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, neighbors etc. The humiliation and embarrassment will likely last a lifetime. Gossip about bad behavior travels fast.
Sixty nine years, 30+ years cruising. Hubby & I are taking a break from cruising. Prices are insane, quality of everything from food, services, cleanliness of ship are not the same. Seems lately when we get home from a cruise we are sick, in May we got covid & all the people we travelled with did too.
I totally agree. I'm 68 and have been cruising since 2000. You definitely don't get the value you used to. No more midnight buffets, cabin service limited to once a day, upcharge for things that used to be free. We are taking a break too. Prices are insane and the vibe is no longer relaxing.
Hey Hey Hey Tony! Love seeing all you cruise tubers together. Just a thought, next time y'all can do a cruising version of "We Are the World"! Shout out Luda 😅😅🚢🚢💖💖
We are 71 and 64, cruising since 2005, finished app. 60 cruises and have 7 in the pipeline. Next to start is next week: a Transatlantic with the Apex, followed by a consecutive caribbean cruise. In January it is Queen Victoria, followed by Carnival. And later in the year I am going to celebrate my 65th on a b2b through the Panama Canal. Another one is booked for the fall of 2025.
Are you older or younger than the average cruiser?
Yes! 😁
Older.
Older...
Taking the 5th.
Older
Hey hey hey. Having turned 68 this past weekend, I take offense to the term 'ELDERLY' LOL!
I am not offended but I can relate to your comment! We are in the same generation. :)
There's no consensus in medicine for age classification. In some you might be young old age. I just call my patients multiples of 21 rather than saying things such as "in older patients....." I took offense at being called elderly/senior when I was 54, but then they were offering me a seniors discount, so I embraced it😉😜🤣🤣
You are the same age as I am. I turned 68 in June.
As a retirement Mecca, South Florida has higher sentencing for perpetrators of crimes against “elderly”, so no worries! It’s just a legal term! … do you want me to get your walker or some oxygen? 😂😂😂😂💩💩💩💩
Thank goodness for cameras on the ships.

That is how she raised her son? Disgusting
Her leaving her son in Jamaica is wild, only to get arrested in Miami 😂
Ya, what a great mom 🏆🏆
Well, it was only the second day. She didn’t want to waste the other five days. 😂
What is wrong with people? Good grief!
So happy to see a fight that isn’t on Carnival . We love Carnival and are tired of getting a bad rep.
there have been quite a few this yr not on Carnival.
I have been on probably 20 carnival cruises and never saw a fight
@@vafllmt9009Do you hang out at the pool? I've seen a couple at the pool probably due to too much liquor.

@@mconnor131pretty sure 90% of the problems have to do with liquor!🥴
Why don’t the cruise companies just call it staff salaries instead of gratuities.
Or just include it in price of cruise
@@henrysheppard3433I wish they would just include it as well

@JWH-01 that is my plan
A required "gratuity" is a surcharge. It is NOT a tip.
Nor is it given to crew as such. The crew gets the fixed rate agreed upon when they were hired, w no extras such as tips. So the automatic “crew appreciation goes to pay their agreed on salary.
I rang the bell outside my office and my champagne bush must be broken 😂😂.
😂😂😂😂😂❤❤
🤣🤣🤣
Gratuities are supposed to be for good service.
I'm spending my 60th bday on Carnival Legend next year, 10 days to Alaska and my first cruise! I'm soooo excited!
Indeed,, champagne out of a grassy wall has me hooked
Those two people should be banned from cruising because of fighting , that’s crazy!
The more they raise gratuities the more you'll have people removing the prepaid gratuities.
People cannot remove prepaid gratuities, but daily charged “crew appreciation” CAN be removed at the guest services desk at anytime BEFORE disembarkation day.

Why are cruise lines not paying their crew correct wages. Why should cruisers have to fork out extra money to make up the difference. It's disgusting!

@@gloriapalmer6629 Fair enough but don't call it gratuities. Call it Staff Salary Charge and stop pretending that it's voluntary.
That was pretty cool champagne at coming out of the bushes
What’s up Tony! People are crazy!
Thanks for the cruise news and your views
Love that you were able to meet with all the other collaborators, I do watch many of them, but you are my favorite Tony!!!

It's the participation Trophy type. People that never get told "no". And they're exhausting 😩
Welcome back home Tony. I am glad you had a great time.
If gratuities keep going up I’ll stop tipping extra as I go! 😢
That’s kinda the point
Since the cruise ship is registered in a foreign country, how does the police in Miami have jurisdiction to to arrest anyone for a crime committed either at sea or in another country?
There are layered jurisdictions.
Next time carnival raises grats, I am paying cash. As someone mentioned-- every time grats are raised, does that mean the crew’s wages are as well?
gratuities go straight to the service personnel that serve you during your cruise. I am so sick of people getting upset about the gratuities that I wish cruise companies would give their service staff a big raise to cover those, and then add it to the price of the cruise so you would have no option to pay them in cash. Tony, you always make us smile!
Nice to see you Tony😊
It's time for all cruise lines as an industry to roll up their gratuities into the ticket price.
Please don’t call them “gratuities” since the crews salaries don’t fluctuate from initial agreed on dalary.
@@silviaeastonborges5204 fascinating. Who or where does the money go to, if not the crew (or cabin steward). And what would be a better name? Thanks

Love your posts 🥰 x
I'm 82 and cruised once or twice annually prior to covid. Now I have been priced out of my favorite vacation.
I would advise to try road scholar vacations, their regular pricing is back and reasonable for the most patt
Have you installed a bell in your home yet? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Crazy story indeed. Just walk away.
Tony you are so entertaining! Great sense of humor!
I'm glad MSC responded as they did. It should never be acceptable on a ship or on land. The increased pricing has put a brake on our cruising.
Good Afternoon Tony
Doug
Wtf is wrong with people?

Excited to see tomorrow vlog!!! I look forward to your vlog daily :)
Cruise ships are taking advantage of the patrons. Cruise ships keep raising prices but are not giving better service.
You just brighten my day
I don't like elderly cutting me off at the buffet either, but I manage to keep my hands to myself, LOL
Never put your hands on anyone, unless you are defending yourself! 😢 But it better be self defense! 😊

MSC is European for Carnival.
Cool. Ring the bell and get champagne
On the Behind the Fun tour on Carnival Jubilee they showed us the ship’s brig. Definitely not a desirable cabin choice.
Great video ❤❤❤❤

Older by age, not vitality. 😂
Oh, a lot older! I would have been older back in 2019 as well. It just got worse... 😱
I was younger when I cruised on the Disney. Started cruising again at 65.
As long as Cruise Ships reach their target occupancy rates... prices will continue to rise

"Fraycass"? Sounds reludicrous. The collaboration video sounds great. I look forward to seeing my fave cruise vloggers!
Was alcohol involved? I do not understand how people can pay all this money for a cruise only to "fight" with others. Craziness!
People are nuts!
I always prepay by Gratuities when I book my cruises so that I am not charged the additional increases.
I’m under that Surveys demographic I fall in range of 18-24 8:38
Cruising used be very economical for us but these constant price increases are ridiculous!
The video of the 3.5" floppy took me back several years (decades?) The data amount on it would be minimal at best.
Do the Gratuities go DIRECTLY to the Staff? or does corporate take a cut off the top? (not just TAX, but like a service charge)
I was on that same cruise, but I didn't hear anything about that incident.well I do hope the elderly lady is ok.
