Your Dad is so cute, I love watching you work together. Your dad is bothered by “the gap” You say “it’s ok it will be covered” your dad responds “but what if it wasn’t” Then you reply, “yeah” 😂 It’s just fun seeing a father and son working together. You can learn A LOT working with the “older” generation. Dad has a lot of great tips. 💕
Hi Shaun, I'm a newish follower & my wife & I have dreams of 1 day having our own camper van.A possibility it may be my every day vehicle to,due to my age as my retirement isn't too far away.I did want to ask when you do you van builds,do you ever let us viewers know your costs incurred?
The way Dad walked in I thought he must have come to your house on horseback 😂 Great tips from Dad 👌 especially that angle tip to measure the wood for dividing it up. Brilliant 🤩
Great seeing Dad sharing and passing on hints and tips! it is the little known things like this that can be lost from generation to generation if we are not careful.
No offence to those who love the colour Grey, but I would really enjoy seeing you do van builds with different colour schemes, because otherwise they risk all being the same version of the same van each time. I learn so much watching your videos, but gosh I'd just love to see more colour in them !! ♥
Thanks for the tips I learnt a few handy tricks how about putting light grey carpet in the recesses that will definitely break up the black walls I think it would look better than painted or stick on vinyl, just a thought love that transformation so far❤
I don’t like to criticise you but see how dad confidently runs the router along the jig. The trick for getting a smooth and unburnt finish is to set the depth of cut to enable a confident , smooth and fairly quick pass with the router. The years of experience show!
Loving this build. Well done mate. Very inspiring. I've got my sights set on doing something similar. I'm learning lots through channels like yours. Thank you 👍 I'll buy you a beer come payday.
Signage has come out really well 👍 inside is coming on a treat too. I would just carpet the inside of the recess and let the lighting give you the variation you are looking for 🙂
When I have a new tool to use, or something I've never done before, I always practice a few times or prototype what I'm trying to do first before doing it for real.
Those signs you got on the van are great, I have them on my car for my business, I love them, easy to take off and easy to clean... magnic signs are the best. well done van coming along nicely now.
Hi im glad it's answered your problems it will take a bit of getting used to upside down cutting and dosnt need to be done on every cut but comes into its own if youve got some nibbling to do close to a pre cut just take your time to master it with your chosen jigsaw and keep the shoe tight against the back of the ply where the blade protrudes you can lift the back closest to your arm away to make it more comfortable to hold . I hope this works out for you .
Love your dad, he made me chuckle....yes you need to wear goggles, mask and ear protection. Then he was with you with just his glasses on while you were kitted up 😂😂😂😂 I know what lack of sleep [babies]. I had 3 boys 3 years and under 😮
Great to see you working with your dad again. I like the removable signs - great idea Hope you find a good looking solution to the oval panels - to me the wood looks good on video as it is ...
Looking great shaun ! why not paint the wood cut outs mat white. Just a thought, how many people have called the number on the van lol you should make it give you £1 every call ? that would pay for the van build 🤣😂 don't forget the cctv night test. It was great seeing your dad, sty safe buddy see you next weeks. Michael notts 👍
Great. Although I might be concerned that if someone realises that your signs are magnetic, they may end up on someone's wall at their home. At least you will be able to choose whether to leave the signs on or not in a location. And you will, of course, have CCTV. I definitely would not have the no tools sign, though - people will assume that you have it on there in the hopes of not being targeted. It would tell me that you have something in there that you value. It would be a shock to find you asleep in there, for sure, but hopefully you will flip on your CCTV monitor quickly and NOT sit there silently in the hopes that (EDIT: the person will leave). If you do that, chances are that you will hear an almighty smash. I would have a switch by your bed so that you can instantly illuminate the outside of the van and that will likely scare off a would-be attacker. Maybe also have a switch to activate a short but loud siren! I think the real key to stealth camping in a van like that is to have lights and siren right next to you so that you can halt people in their tracks BEFORE they are able to use an automatic centre punch on your window glass. If you stay quiet and just listen, it isn't going to be long before one of your side windows is all over one of your seats. You'll be picking that stuff up for weeks, I can tell you from experience...
enjoy watching your videos Shaun you might find your signs are missing one morning as they are only magnetic and are liable for idiots to take them off especially as you have now advertised it on your channel. maybe a better idea would have been to have them as vinyl and then have blank magnet ones looking like Windows that you could have put over the top for when you are on campsites. as far as the recesses I think it would look really good to have a photograph of a sunset or something like that which would give you some colour in the van and also look like a view. definitely a great idea though having it as a stealth van looking forward to next week's video.
I see above your door gap. Not the door itself you are missing a rubber trim on the top, get one of those to also help the door to seal right when shut. E bay or scrap yard.
The sticker should read "No tea left in this van overnight". On a different note, I could never enjoyably exist in a van where I cannot stand upright, ever. I get cramp sometimes at night, so it can only be relieved standing. In any case I am 6' 2".
Told you ages ago get magnetic stick on "builders" van stuff . Over a window.... so take on and off. U replied good idea and asbestos whould be good lol. Can still stick window in just put it over that . Suggest make own sign saying " 100% no tools in van when parked up" . 😅
Brilliant build series, Shaun. Will your LED light boxes be independently switched? I was thinking that if you want to light the van a little at the front and watch TV, you may be able to see the reflection of the rear light box on the TV screen. Just a thought! Looking forward to the next one, and I can certainly relate to the sleepless nights with 20 months between our children.
I take my hat off to him he does really well as hes not a chippy and i only help a tiny bit if a new technique or tool is being learnt or a helping hand is needed He does 99%of the work himself as im not always available .
In those oval cutouts why not glue in some nice prints whether they be from old wallpaper books or maybe old pictures picked up at yard sales and use them as a backdrop to your LED lighting
You're dad is a great help to u. & the van will look the business once it's all done. You should put a set of nuge bars at the the front, with a couple of driving spot lights...it will set it off you get some vans that Actually have it fitted..But it will look fantastic once you have it done 👃
Another great build Shaun, enjoying the watch. I know it’s already been mentioned but the Asbestos signage may draw unnecessary attention from council, environmental health and other agencies not necessarily associated with the police. Asbestos tends to be a very emotive issue and may evoke some unexpected reactions from members of the public. I would have probably gone for joinery or gardening theme. Just an opinion though. Keep up the great work on the channel😊
I did in the transit but I think it’s not needed for this type of van. If I was planning on living in a van full time I’d put a vapour barrier in but for a weekend away every week it’s not worth it in my opinion.
Floor doesn't squeak if you glue together & oor with polyurethane glue. Like I've done. And you have to put hard floor down with your method. As you would see gap
Love it... never thought about recessing 'fake windows' as such to trick the mind.. The black screws you used did they wrinke up the felttrim as u snugged it tight?? And where do you get your felttrim? And the main question... whos telephone number is that on the sign??? Lol ❤
The black screws didn’t affect the veltrim thankfully. I got this off Amazon but it’s not the thickest I’ve used in the past. The number on the side of the van isn’t real there’s a number missing
Love the videos I'm building a similar setup to look like builders van with the tv ur going to put up what size will that hold do u think as have thought on doing same thing but not shore if would hold the size I have to go up
Not sure about the asbestos idea. I'm sure you need all sorts of licenses to deal with it. It might cause you to be pulled over a lot because someone official wants to check everything is correct.
Your Dad is so cute, I love watching you work together. Your dad is bothered by “the gap” You say “it’s ok it will be covered” your dad responds “but what if it wasn’t” Then you reply, “yeah” 😂 It’s just fun seeing a father and son working together. I always keep of log of the cost of the conversion and will share it at the end of the build
John is a great guy and taught Shaun and I a lot over the years. Always enjoyed the working on our cars together in the past along with my dad too
The trick to divide an area into three equal areas was absolutely genius
😳😎
I loved the fact that you both wore the safety gear of your own generations when cutting the ply. 😂
The way Dad walked in I thought he must have come to your house on horseback 😂
Great tips from Dad 👌 especially that angle tip to measure the wood for dividing it up. Brilliant 🤩
That made me piss myself 🤣🤣
Dad needs his own channel, learned so much and makes it so simple.
Coming along nicely Shaun. Its great to watch your dad work, a true craftsmen for sure.
Great seeing Dad sharing and passing on hints and tips! it is the little known things like this that can be lost from generation to generation if we are not careful.
Everybody loves it when dad turns up 😂 it starting to take shape now mate and it s looking good. 😊
The suspense music with the router cut was epic 😂
Your Dads a wealth of knowledge, lovely to see
What a team. You're dad is great. You've obviously learnt sooo much from him over the years, and still learning.
The van build is looking great. X
It’s always so fun to watch you and your dad work together. The van is going to need awesome! Thanks for sharing. Doug
Thanks 👍
I think the inserts should be shocking pink acrylic backlit with LEDs it will certainly chase off any rogues trying to break in 😂
Your Dad’s a legend!
No offence to those who love the colour Grey, but I would really enjoy seeing you do van builds with different colour schemes, because otherwise they risk all being the same version of the same van each time. I learn so much watching your videos, but gosh I'd just love to see more colour in them !! ♥
Yes! Me too - lighter covering is available. Each to their own anyway!
Lighter colouring marks easier
But the carpet he is using is the cheaper stuff, very see through and it bobbles quicker.
@musicalmarion this van won’t look like anything else I’ve ever built. Just wait
Brilliant, thanks Shaun. Love it when your Dad joins you
Your dad is a star. Hope he is enjoying retirement as much as I am
Thanks for the tips I learnt a few handy tricks how about putting light grey carpet in the recesses that will definitely break up the black walls I think it would look better than painted or stick on vinyl, just a thought love that transformation so far❤
Yr doing a cracking job Shaun and it’s nice to have yr dad to support and show you his skills. Cheeeers maxx
Another great video Shaun. I learn so much when your dad helps you out. Love the content.
I don’t like to criticise you but see how dad confidently runs the router along the jig. The trick for getting a smooth and unburnt finish is to set the depth of cut to enable a confident , smooth and fairly quick pass with the router. The years of experience show!
Bosch T101AO blades the absolute best blades dual cutting from the top !! Awesome we’ve been using them for years !
Awesome, I love seeing the step-by-step build process! Inspires me to build my own van except the fact that I am lacking the skills that you have!
Loving this build. Well done mate. Very inspiring. I've got my sights set on doing something similar.
I'm learning lots through channels like yours. Thank you 👍 I'll buy you a beer come payday.
Looking good Shaun 👍Inspirational and fun. Great tips from your dad too.
Like all your videos i have a day van that i use for work so can only go away for day trips so enjoy watching yours
Signage has come out really well 👍 inside is coming on a treat too. I would just carpet the inside of the recess and let the lighting give you the variation you are looking for 🙂
If you make those cutouts just a little deeper you could also use them as stowaways for little things like your keys or remote controls etc
Wallpaper or vinyl on the plain wood ovals.
Got some black n white marvel wallpaper in mine 😂
When I have a new tool to use, or something I've never done before, I always practice a few times or prototype what I'm trying to do first before doing it for real.
Those signs you got on the van are great, I have them on my car for my business, I love them, easy to take off and easy to clean... magnic signs are the best. well done van coming along nicely now.
Translucent acrylic and have a light box style effect
What a great Dad! Lucky you. 👍
Just remember to remove signs frequently to dry behind them to stop rusting the van
Your dad has answered all my problems with a jigsaw! Who knew this video was going to be such a gem! Cheers 😂
Glad the video helped. I’ll pass on your comment to my dad
Hi im glad it's answered your problems it will take a bit of getting used to upside down cutting and dosnt need to be done on every cut but comes into its own if youve got some nibbling to do close to a pre cut just take your time to master it with your chosen jigsaw and keep the shoe tight against the back of the ply where the blade protrudes you can lift the back closest to your arm away to make it more comfortable to hold . you could put white or coloured perspex in your cutouts
It's looking good, your dad is right about the ply though.
Love it!…every day’s a school day !..👍
Really enjoying watching this process. This van looks like it's very well insulated.
You need blue sky and clouds in them cutouts.
It's starting to look great Shaun, it's going to be cosy 😃
Love your dad, he made me chuckle....yes you need to wear goggles, mask and ear protection. Then he was with you with just his glasses on while you were kitted up 😂😂😂😂
I know what lack of sleep [babies]. I had 3 boys 3 years and under 😮
Should have a sign saying 'The Only tool in His Van is the Driver' hehe!!
Coming along nicely Shaun, great tips for self builders from your dad👍
Great to see you working with your dad again.
I like the removable signs - great idea
Hope you find a good looking solution to the oval panels - to me the wood looks good on video as it is ...
Looking great shaun ! why not paint the wood cut outs mat white. Can't call it, there's only 10 numbers!
Gerald of the campers 😂 i likes it! ❤
😂
How about painting some simple leafy designs in those lighting areas - relaxing colour is green!
Loving the build and all the builds you've done making me want to do one myself
Loving the progress! Oh… and nice shirt!
Great. Although I might be concerned that if someone realises that your signs are magnetic, they may end up on someone's wall at their home. At least you will be able to choose whether to leave the signs on or not in a location. And you will, of course, have CCTV.

Loving the inset led idea!
What about putting a lighter grey veltrim in the space?
My dad is useless with that kinda stuff, so please thank your dad for sharing his knowledge from me.
Thankyou 👍🏻
I see above your door gap. Not the door itself you are missing a rubber trim on the top, get one of those to also help the door to seal right when shut. E bay or scrap yard.
What about a lighter shade of grey carpet for the inserts?
I've just been getting van insurance quotes and noticed some companies give discount on premiums if you have signage! 👌
How about a love Sundays logo in you cut outs on the wall? Will look nice once LEDs are in and lighting it up
Have a look at WLED lights, fully programmable and would look great
Thankyou
Good work mate coming along nicely 👍
The sticker should read "No tea left in this van overnight". On a different note, I could never enjoyably exist in a van where I cannot stand upright, ever. I get cramp sometimes at night, so it can only be relieved standing. In any case I am 6' 2".
No pasties left in this van over night
Brilliant build, I'm first time conversion on a vivaro learning a lot. Where did you get plywood kit, can you post a link
Told you ages ago get magnetic stick on "builders" van stuff . Over a window.... so take on and off. U replied good idea and asbestos whould be good lol. Can still stick window in just put it over that . Suggest make own sign saying " 100% no tools in van when parked up" . 😅
Just goes to show I do listen 😂 also you are officially my first Member so thank you

Looking forward to the next one, and I can certainly relate to the sleepless nights with 20 months between our children.
Yes I’m planning to have to lights on individual switches because the light reflecting off the tv would be really annoying
see Shawn have some faith in yourself buddy welldone 😂
I take my hat off to him he does really well as hes not a chippy and i only help a tiny bit if a new technique or tool is being learnt or a helping hand is needed He does 99%of the work himself as im not always available .
Another great video carnt wait to see the finished van iam sure it will be amazing
Love all the video's each weekend and i know it is late but congratulations on your new baby. Dave
In those oval cutouts why not glue in some nice prints whether they be from old wallpaper books or maybe old pictures picked up at yard sales and use them as a backdrop to your LED lighting
Being done as a work van, very high chance of getting broken into
The cctv install will be money well spent in that case
You're dad is a great help to u. & the van will look the business once it's all done. You should put a set of nuge bars at the the front, with a couple of driving spot lights...it will set it off you get some vans that Actually have it fitted..But it will look fantastic once you have it done 👃
Those signs make your van more break in able. they will think its full of tools
Brilliant 👏

Keep up the great work on the channel😊
It’ll be interesting to find out if the van gets reported to the council. Not much they can do though if it’s a camper van advertising a bogus company
I need your dad to do my van, his a genius! 🙏🏻 Question, do you not put a vapour barrier over your installation?
I did in the transit but I think it’s not needed for this type of van. If I was planning on living in a van full time I’d put a vapour barrier in but for a weekend away every week it’s not worth it in my opinion.
@LoveSundays ahhh good to know, I may not bother either!
Varnish the ply, it will reflect the light.
Coming on mate
Looking really good
Carry on with the good work .
Do you go when it is finally finished and you are using it?
Don't leave the magnetic signs on all the time they get damp behind them and make the panels rust.
love the little detail!
Thank you
Floor doesn't squeak if you glue together & oor with polyurethane glue. Like I've done. And you have to put hard floor down with your method. As you would see gap
Hi mate,
Loving the van build. I’ve got the sane van and was wondering what qualities of the Dodo stuff you needed.
Cheers
Just call them up mate tell them what van you have and they’ll estimate how much you need. Don’t forget to use my discount code too.
I like you being all covered in every possible safety kit while he does it old school. Old generation vs new snowflakes 😂
That made me laugh cuz its true
Quick question; is that a 'dummy' phone number on the magnetic panels? Great van, coming along nicely. Best wishes Christine x
Looking good
Tell your dad THANKYOU some top tips there ;-)
Love the build so far. Where are the magnetic signs from
I got them made by a local guy in Falmouth
Love it... never thought about recessing 'fake windows' as such to trick the mind..
@@LoveSundaysShould have put South West Water phone number 😂
😂
Cool build sir regads from sweden
such a boss!
Asbestos removal. Very cool!
Any ideas for a sit down shower 🚿❤
Love the videos I'm building a similar setup to look like builders van with the tv ur going to put up what size will that hold do u think as have thought on doing same thing but not shore if would hold the size I have to go up
Dads on board, jobs a good un👌
If you put fresh rubbers on , how have you managed to get two kids under two ?😂
😂
Great comment 🤣🤣🤣
What was the milage when you bought the van
118k
How are you planning to insure it ?
Looking good.
Not sure about the asbestos idea. I'm sure you need all sorts of licenses to deal with it. It might cause you to be pulled over a lot because someone official wants to check everything is correct.
Who’s going to pull me over for my signage? We’re under policed in this country as it is. They don’t have time for that sort of thing 😂
Where did you get the pre-cut panels from please?
EBay mate. Just type in your model van and Ply lining kit
