its good to see an experienced operator who knows how to properly apply braking on a sidehill in order to keep a straight line

Tony are you self taught with the equipment, or were you an operator for awhile in the military? Is your basic military background maintenance? It is probably in there somewhere Chief. I’m just too lazy to dig it out. Stan here.

I was on dozers and excavators from the time I could walk. Farm work too. At 15 years old, I was running a D7 Cat for a summer job. Running equipment is in my blood. I was a maintainer all my Army career, but I always ended up running equipment along the way.

I been watching your channel for about 6 months. I came across it while researching tym tractors. Watching your work has given me ideas how to do my jobs. For years all I had was an old Ford 2 N with basic implements. Now I've got a couple more toys and getting a ton of work done, so I appreciate your vids because I really didn't know how some of the stuff works.
I don't suppose you ever made a video of smoothing out a steep hillside? I have to build a leech field on a hillside that was too steep. So I had 75 tons of sand trucked in and I'm trying to get a smooth shallow slope vs the steep roller coaster slope I currently have.
    Thanks for the vids!

Bull Frog, Thank you for your comment. That means a lot. I built a pond with an old 9N and a pond scoop about 25 years ago. I came home on leave from the Army and was put to work on the farm ASAP! I loved it. I have done several videos about how to use a box blade. I think they may help. ua-cam.com/video/c00WiAPKli4/v-deo.html

@@TonysTractorAdventure I appreciate your response. A couple of years ago a nice neighbor of mine, an older guy that collects old iron gave me a great deal on a Dearborn scoop. Works great and I moved tons of dirt with it. Them little ford's are tough tractors.
I think I've watched all your box blade vids and got some helpful tips. I'm just having an issue getting rid of the high and low spots. I found dragging on old pallet behind my tractor has helped the situation. I just need to be careful because I can't get traction going up the hill so I am constantly grading and pulling dirt from the top to the bottom.
I guess if it was easy it wouldn't be called work!

Good work, Tony. Pulling up a consistent grade is not as easy as you made it look....especially with a backhoe! A rain shower got me last Saturday doing a drainage project....I just needed about 30 minutes more to finish.

Thank you Stanley. It is very nice having both tractors, but I think I could get by with either one now we are moving to this location. Still, I don't think I will ever give up either one. I have over 200 hours on the the T474 and already 85 hours on the T25. No breakdowns yet! I may have asked you this already, but were you in the service? I have been hit on the head one to many times, and I answer 1000 comments each week.

Stan, Thank you so much for thinking of me. I retired as an Army Chief Warrant Officer. I know you mean well, and I am honored you feel that way about me; however, Memorial Day has a special meaning. It is set aside for Service members who were killed while serving. In recent years first responders who perished while serving their communities have been recognized. I am not worthy of this honor, however, some of my friends should be honored Memorial day. God Bless.

Nice work there. Do you have a tiller for the T25 that you could run along the side slope to loosen things up along the same angle you are trying to grade to, like you were doing with the bucket at the end of the video? (never tried running one on an angle like that, would be interesting to see how well it could work...) That would be another advantage to having two tractors, not having to switch rear attachments constantly.
Loved seeing Gizmo laying there watching the backhoe bucket.

When I get done, it will be a light slope on both sides. I hope grass will hold it because it is such a low water flow area. It will be even less once the gutters are on the building. I hope to be able to just mow across it all. Time will tell. If not I may make a concrete ditch, so I can just mow it.

That is too hard to say. I have two, because sometimes I go out and help cut logs with a friend. We bring them out with the T474. Some of those logs are a little much for the T25. I use the T25 a lot around the farm. Probably more than the T474. I used the stump grinder with the T25 yesterday. Video soon. Very suprising.
