Guys in my case it was a damaged cable from the disk drive power supply. It turned out that when I was cleaning my ps4, while assembling it back together I accidentally crushed this cable with the power supply unit from the console. Two of these four cables were broken inside, I checked it using a multimeter. I cut off these two cables at the place of crushing and soldered them together. That's how my disk drive came to life. So if you ever disassemble the your console it's worth checking out.
This video definitly helped me out my son ps4 wasnt taking any disc at all so i manually put 1 in & restarted it while it was inserted it started trying to read but didnt so it just automatically ejected the disc & 3 fkn pokemon cards come out with it😒

I bought one with a messed up HDMI port. I took it apart and removed the drive and set it off to the side. I fixed the HDMI port and after reassemble, it will make a eject noise for the first few seconds that it's powered up, it will eject and take the disc in Automatically, but it's like something is blocking the damn disc tray!!! Grrrrrr, so aggravating.
This is informative. I took mine apart to clean it and the stupid thing stoped taking in discs. I was having the same thing with the manual load and it would eject for a decade when I turned it on like there was something in the drive.
I have the same problem. If i take a disc in to the playstation manuel same you make with the srew on the left and start the playstation, than i can play the games?
My Ps4 been working real good. one morning tired play game disk drive would make any running noise to pull disk in.. want do anything to take a game inside. So i purchased new disk drive put in it. Still does something you don't hear the running noise to pull dish in. Could something else went out on it.? Thanks”
Same as mine is doing. Not taking any disks at all. It is like the power from the circuit board isn't even connected to the place that makes the disk drive power up and take the disk.
Mine will take the disc the first it boots, you can hear the laser click a few times trying to read it and then it is an "unrecognized disc". It will eject when the button is pressed but won't take another disc. Pretty strange. I check the fuses and cleaned it up. I bought the console used with issues, so I don't know the history.

Do you mean I can just bridge that fuse and it won't blow my motor again or should i just find a fuse
