Yeah, Tim is WAY too tall, but looks really good with the Hush Batman who is also WAY too tall. Shame scale is such a problem with McFarlane. I actually do like Tim's armored look and the colors they choose though.
I finally got the Gotham Knights Tim Drake on clearance at Ross for 6 bucks. I used that to do a headswap with this figure's derpy face. Mine was extra derpy because his lips were also messed up. Made him look like he was going "Durrrrr". With the head swap this is now my grown up Dick Grayson right before he becomes Nightwing.
You gave it 4/5 is just right .. tho he is bit tall and bulky for Tim. I got this for myself. Like this classic look and Tim has to be the best Robin among the 4!
Funny, I'm watching this moments after checking my email to learn that I didn't win the Dick Grayson Robin lottery, and you make an excellent point. I'm starting to see some less-than-savory trends with the DC Universe line.
Yeah he's on the too tall side by the looks of it, but man the way people have been reacting to this figure, which the red suit version has been out for months and is the exact same mold , it's like what were people expecting? He's not gonna be magically shorter is he? The "Knighfall" Batman wasn't really even a thing when this figure was announced and came out originally and I also feel that Batman is a bit on the short side anyway and the extra details on this figure I don't think he goes with "KF" Batman anyways, he looks great with Three Jokers and Hush
If I could add a suggestion, I think it'd be really cool if you did more than just headswaps. Swapping feet with some figures helps the height problem and I'd love to see more focus on parts swapping. Love the content, keep it up! You're my favorite toy reviewer
Firm but fair as always. Scale has been an Achilles heel with McFarlane. It’s all over the place. Don’t they have a sample room where they can pair the 3D sculpts before they go to tooling? If they dialed in the scale on the whole line, they would have a lot more home-runs. Just my 2 cents.
I agree with everything you said all criticism on the figure and mcfarlane themselves is well deserved. And it’s like I said puts all of his efforts into Batman figures most of the time . While everyone else gets a unfair treatment
He's great, Robin, and he is a comic book Accurate I just wish they made the bat boomerang 🪃 bigger it doesn't fit right in his hands, and Tim is supposed to be tall he's taller than Dick and older than Jason Todd age between 17-18 teenage years my rate 9/10
Even though I do appreciate your positivity and your reviews, I do appreciate you being critical of figurines that need to be discussed. And just so you know the issues that you’ve brought up our issues in McFarlane Toys collectors have brought up before. So don’t worry you are in good company.
They really should have just remolded parts of the New 52 Red Robin sculpt instead of molding a brand new sculpt that ended up being way too big. At this point, I'm praying we can at least end up with an Infinite Frontier Tim Drake in the right scale.
this is my prefer Robin look. but the fact he's too tall is a disappointment. Though with the build a fig Cyborg and Beast Boy could make him look smaller by comparison. all we need is a Starfire and we can have the Titans. also, what happened to Blue Beetle?
Ah been waiting for someone to catch that. It's a continuation of the joke from my Blue Beetle video that he looks like Stealth Iron Man. So I wanna see who all notices

At first it didn't bother me that much, but as the collection grows larger and you are starting to form your display the scale inconsistency becomes more apparent. I think im gonna pass on this Tim drake and wait for another (if there is one) Edit: Looking forward to the "Headswaps" episode, that Gotham Knight Head may look good on this body since he looks more like a kid.

Or even 3 jokers red hood’s torso - black trunks aside. Hopefully the custom community will provide some inspiration!
I'm not planning a head swap video on him at this time, but I do have a couple other ideas. I may explore head swaps in a customizing video, or just just take some pics and put them on Instagram
Yeah, seeing as how the black & red Robin is technically this release's Gold Label variant... I don't see us getting another version of this figure, even if cheap repaints is Todd's M.O. lol.
Not having picked up the red and black, I don't know how he labeled it. If they are both Robin: Reborn, I think you'd be right. But if he called that one something else, I could see a Gold Label of this one since it would technically be a different figure. But we'll see what happens.
A lot of people seem to say that dc multiverse figures are ugly. I personally think that a lot, maybe even most actually look really good. But this, this is hideous. I got an old dc direct version and I’ll be sticking to that. He’s barely more possible that a 5 poa figure, but at least he’s the right height and is sculpted WELL.
Spot on video. Is BB ok, lol ? I picked him because I'm a fan and rounding out a team build. But damn he (Todd) needs to get a handle on scaling, diaper blend, and lack of front crunch. Impulse looks like he will shoulder check you into the past. Head swap with Redwing Robin ?
I honestly like Dick Grayson because I truly see him with Batman as the Dynamic Duo but Tim Drake is no slouch either and I don't have him in hand overall he looks really cool despite his very own hair being too swifty, Great review on your favorite Robin Jason.
Thanks Fernando! Grayson is great and obviously foundational for establishing Robin, but I prefer him as Nightwing. That's me though. I think the reason I like Tim is the same reason I love Barbara. Unlike so many other heroes, they weren't driven by tragedy. They were inspired to do good, and then faced tragedy as a result. I just love the concept of Tim as someone who smart enough to deduce who Batman is and then basically decide to take up the mantle because he recognized Batman "needs" a Robin to balance him and keep him mentally grounded.
Thank you, the only things I don't like is obviously scale (and it's not even the worst figure when it comes to scale, Batgirls are also way too tall and even classic Harley Quinn which is even more ridiculous considering they are female characters and not even too tall for real, here they are all basically as tall as the avarage Batman) mouth also looks a little weird, I tend to prefer the head from the Amazon esclusive red version to an extent, except for these I think this is the best Tim Drake we've got so far, and possibly the best Robin in general.
I just caved and ordered the red and black one just for the head. I agree with you regarding the scale of female characters. I never feel bothered with the Harley
Enjoy the detail and segments in your videos as usual. I actually like this figure though overall. Hated that they used this same one for red suit robin though.

Iove the figure, scale is way to tall and bulky.. Face is off.. McFarland either knocks it out of the park or just msses it up..(like Superman head in new two pack with Utraman) Take the time, get the basic issues done right..
I like the figure well enough but this guy is ENORMOUS. I have a Batman shelf with the entire family and he can't even fit in with the rest of the figures.
The only other McFarlane Tim I had at the time was the Gotham Knights version. But when I finally get around to that custom video I'll do all the necessary head swaps I can.
We need more cons and pros on these mcfarlane figures. I feel people and A LOT of reviewers on mcfarlanes shill list give more than enough slack to todds mistakes and we are about to hit year 5 and mcfarlane hasn’t fully improved he just does the minimum to fix things and people go suck his meat. Iove the figure, scale is way to tall and bulky..
Face is off.. McFarland either knocks it out of the park or just msses it up..(like Superman head in new two pack with Utraman)
Take the time, get the basic issues done right..
head swapping that figure with the previous gold label tim drake robin makes it a little bit better.
hold up that wasn't Steth iron man what did i miss?
You were spot on, too bright and too tall. I too have been waiting for this Tim and was also disappointed
Get rid of the armored chest and abs. Then make him shorter and skinnier.
Yeah, that would do it
guess this is tim near the end of his robin tenure lol
That's what BERNARD said after last night.
Batman cosplaying as robin
Ha! For real
He's not perfect, but i am happy with him.
I'm glad!
I really don't like that head sculpt.
I really don't either, nor really any of it in general
I like the figure well enough but this guy is ENORMOUS. I have a Batman shelf with the entire family and he can't even fit in with the rest of the figures.
Sad but true. I am working on a custom concept to fix that
No head swap with the other Tims?
The only other McFarlane Tim I had at the time was the Gotham Knights version. But when I finally get around to that custom video I'll do all the necessary head swaps I can.
@@5POAFigureReviews wow didn't expect an answer but what about the new 52 with wings, did you sell him?
We need more cons and pros on these mcfarlane figures. I feel people and A LOT of reviewers on mcfarlanes shill list give more than enough slack to todds mistakes and we are about to hit year 5 and mcfarlane hasn’t fully improved he just does the minimum to fix things and people go suck his meat. We need more speakers to keep todd on his feet and accountable
I’m never getting a Robin figure that’s taller than batman
Understandable
Tim Drake is too tall, couplee with the poor crunch articulation, im not getting him. Knightfall Batman is great, but he is a bit on the slimmer side.
Agreed
The stomach area is too long which makes him too tall.
Yeah, that's just a big problem area all around
@@5POAFigureReviews I’ve seen it most pronounced here but not much in other figures.
I'm considering canceling my preorder for this. Figure just doesn't look that good.
I'm glad I got him despite my issues, but I wouldn't blame you if you did
Woke writing ruins characters. Tim Drake is straight. Can’t wait for a universe redo and a good writer to put things back to proper cannon.
Isnt he bi? Either way fictional characters can be molded into whatever the owner wants them to be. If WB says Drake is gay then hes gay
Tim in comics= 👍
Tim in titans= 💀
HAHA, that's not Stealth Iron man hahah
Is it worth the wait? While l think it's a nice looking fig it could be better but probably the best we're going to get.
that way of thinking why crap sells so much just saying...
The scale is way off
Unfortunately, yeah it is
11.26.23😮
This Robin doesn't look as a Robin 😐
tim fans just can’t win
You ain't lying!
