Sorry Rok Life I missed your comment. I would say that for 9 hours its not worth getting a hotel. But if that 9 hours is through the night, things might be closed and their will be nothing to see other than the night lights.
Not sure about the nightlife there, but if you are there in the daytime they have a daily free tour with a free visa. Just ask at the airport about it. It is first come first served. Or at least when I was there.
You got Katara , you also have three Maine district in the pearl Qatar ( madinet central, Porto Arabia and Qanat Quertier ) also you forgot to hit mall of Qatar. It’s more than just a mall there. They have musical theatres and other differ t kinda things as well. Also you forgot to hit the banana island !!! Maybe should have drugged more into researching about the country. Beside Qataris are 8 % not 15% also the rest not all blue collar!! There are almost half of expats ( of course the one living up north of the city) they live in mansions and drive best and news cars. You went to the wrong area to ask expats as most expats in that area you were staying in ( central doh) are lower class. And as we all know, any low class person wouldn’t be happy to live on this earth.

hey i have 20 hrs layover at doha. I am still debating should i get a hotel. I land at 1130 and leave next day 0830. how much does a hotel cost?
