- During an eight hour layover at Doha, capital of Qatar, we got a chance to visit the city with Discover Doha bus tour. In this episode I have shared my experience from this three hour bus tour of Doha, where we covered (1) Doha Corniche (2) Katara Cultural Village and (3) Souq Waqif.

Thanks for the video! Planning to do this soon. I read that they want you to check in 2 hours before the tour, but did they have any rules about the timing of tour ending and when your next flight would be?
Thanks for checking us out … well the 2 hr pre tour check in is true … but it’s not like to the ‘T’ precise to be honest … the tour is roughly 3-4 hrs long .. so I would suggest plan accordingly with atleast 2 hrs buffer from the tour ending time to your flight boarding time … hope that helps !

Hi! Thanks for the insightful video! May I check where did you leave your luggage/baggage at while you were away for the tour? I am looking to see if there is a luggage storage platform in the airport.
Hey Kenny , we had our carry on with us … the bus 🚌 has storage for the luggage, during the tour ( 3/4 hours) …. Once done with the tour simply take your baggage and re enter the airport. Hope that helps .

Great Video!! Could you please confirm me is this the right way. After landing in Doha, we should go the Discover Qatar helpdesk and book the transit tours that suits us. Then the guide will help us with the immigration process. Since India falls under list of countries for visa on arrival, I believe that there is no necessity to hold a transit visa for the above tour ? If Yes, could you please share some more details on how to apply for transit visa? Thanks
Hi yes you got it right… India is among the visa exempt countries… the immigration desk will take care of the stamping … just contact the Discover Qatar desk , next to the Golden Bear … they will guide you through as shown in this video.
Did you purchase of a ‘Visitor Insurance Policy’ before arriving in Qatar from one of the approved providers on this Ministry of Public Health page ?
No I didn’t as ours was just a 4 hr bus tour. But it’s a good idea .

Can you tell me if all the souvenir shops and other shops takes card payment? I have a debit card of n26 which is valid for almost all currencies worldwide. So is the card enough in all kind of shops or need to exchange cash as well?
Thanks for checking us out… N26 should suffice. I paid with my Canada/ US Mastercard even at souvenir stores.. didn’t carry a single QAD in cash ..

They take $ … I personally used my credit card which doesn’t have an additional forex transaction fee… good luck 🍀
Can we explore the city after tour ends at our own cost? Or Do we need to wait in the Airport only? I have 20hrs layover in Qatar.
No with this bus tour you cannot … as at the beginning when you are accompanied by the tour operator to the immigration counter, they only issue exit pass associated with the bus tour … but if your country is visa exempt I would suggest to check with immigration officer..

No visa was required for the bus tour? Or do we have to take the E-Visa in advance?
If you are a passport holder from a visa exempt country then you don’t need anything beforehand … the bus tour company will take care of your immigration formalities en route
