Watching so many yt vids of people getting their nails done almost pressured me to want mine done, but I love my natural nails! I used to wear acrylic and it made my nails so weak and let's face it...thats another bill! Lol. Nice to see a community of women embracing their natural nails!
I always soak my nails in oil for 30 minutes prior to using polish. Periodically rubbing the oil into the nail bed and gently pushing back my cuticles. Rinse with water then pat dry. Then finish rubbing the rest of the oil into my nails. I proceed to apply at least 3 layers of Sally Hansen 7 in 1 Complete Care. It's very moisturizing because it has water in the middle of the ingredient list. Then alternate applying multiple layers of nail color and clear polish. Wrap the entire nail with each layer. Seal it all in with the Dollar Tree's quick dry top coats. In total, I'll have maybe 7 or 8 layers. My nails are reinforced and protected the entire week just like acrylic.
I totally get that internal battle. I love the look of long nails on people. When I start to grow mine out and they get just a little bit of free edge I start to get frustrated because they hinder my movement and lifestyle. Then I cut them off completely, and file them short. I'm like "oh, these are so tactile, they feel wonderfully freeing."
I'm so glad I found this video the thought of not having to constantly get acrylics over and over I'm ready to go ahead and grow my natural nails saves me money and time.
I love your natural nails it so nice to see other women wear their nails natural. I'm a natural nail grower as well I been growing my nails for years had to trimmed them down too many breaks. I use so much oil I go through it like crazy and they grow like crazy too there I'd so muxh more i do to them to keep them healthy as well. Thanks for sharing
Yesss natural nails for the win!😋 I love that. You’re right, the upkeep is hard and time consuming but definitely worth it and I can agree on the oil usage hahahaha. I actually trimmed mine down too because of too many breaks. They’ll grow back no worries haha! I’m glad you like my video💗
Girlll Ilysmmm. I’m 14 and I have really short nails and I always bite them with hour knowing. My friends have long nails and I’m always really insecure about my nail. I just want to thank you because after I saw your last vid i start actually caring about my nails and using oils everyday and taking it with me everywhere ( you never know when you need it). And OMGGGG you’re so fricking beautiful your literally a goddess .
Omg yesss I love that for you!! I’m so happy my video helped you. This is only the beginning babes just wait until your nails really start growing and you perfect your nail routine! It’ll be soo great. Thank you so much, you’re soo sweet! Keep me updated!🥰💗
Love your routine! My routine is very similar to yours. I can totally relate with how hard it is to maintain the girls and keep up with them before they rip.
Your nails are beautiful!!! - Natural is healthier and better - I keep my nails active length to avoid chipping and breaking and apply argon oil every night before bed to keep them conditioned and shiny - I used to get fake nails but it ruined my nail bed and the fumes in salon made me sick not to mention to costly.
Thank you so much!😄 sounds like you’ve got a good, solid nail care routine yourself. I love it! But yes, I used to get fake nails too and everything you mentioned is soo true and relatable. You said it: natural is healthier!💗
i needed this video!!! i recently got a gel set done and ended up drilling off the color but leaving the length so it looks like natural nails. everytime my real nails start growing i break them so easily. 😭 thank you!! 💝
Omg that opening sentence…I’m so happy to help 🥲 the transition from getting your nails done at the salon to doing them yourself starts off rough but is sooo worth it in the end. We love healthy nails!! Your welcome, girl thank YOU!💗
My nails break at the free edge as well and I have that same curvature. I always file the sides to make them grow straight though. I absolutely love being my own nail tech cuz I know what I want therefore I know what to expect. I wish I could have my nails that long but I type a lot. And ur removing the dead dry cuticle. The skin above the should not be nipped only pushed back.
Yes I usually always do! This is what I do to keep my nails healthy before I put polish on them and I usually change polish every two-ish weeks or once the polish starts chipping. If I don’t paint a color on my nails, I repeat this routine every week😄
Yeah, I usually do but I was too lazy by the end of the video 😂 in the future, I would love to show you guys how I paint my nails and stuff cause I do get a little artsy with my nail designs. I also always use a base coat to prevent any staining!
Love this tip! I use Gelish structure gel but I’m thinking of trying this one too. Another video suggested filing after the gel is on instead of before and it’s been very helpful since.
I don’t use Sally Hansen nail strengtheners or hardeners they make the nails hard and make them bend and break where is nail oil especially jojoba oil with some vitamin e oil is the best it’s the same as our own skin oil it makes the nail flex but not break.
Hiii i like the plant based top coat by Sally Hansen but I only use it with the other Sally Hansen plant based polishes and it works wonderfully for me :)
Hiii I wouldn’t recommend using it as a top coat since it’s specifically for growing your nails. I think it needs to be in direct contact with your nail bed only and it would just be wasting the product overall. I also think the consistency is a little bit different than top coat too so I’m not sure it would work as one very well😕
You’re naturel nails are so beautiful. When i was younger i always wen’t to the nail salon for gel/acrylic nails. Then years later my childeren where born and i wen’t to naturel nails. Last year i tried gel nails again and also aplying gel polish at home. The bufferfile didn’t do good to my nails. Then i had some press on nails. And when i removed them i saw that my naturel nails are peeling. So i filled them down and use lot’s of nail oils. The gel/acrylic nails looks so but they cost a lot and the damage after words is not worht it. So now i’m growing the peeling part out and then hopefully i’ll get beautiful nails just like your’s 💅💖
Wow, your nails experienced it all! I’m so glad you made the switch to natural nails though! I know your nails will grow out and be healthy and long in no time. Love this for you!😋💗

I’ve never used a nail hardener but the Sally Hansen maxi growth has a strengthener in it and I use that polish religiously! I’m sure a hardener wouldn’t hurt, though. I’m glad i could help let me know if you have any other questions!😋
@@Ohkeh640 if I don’t paint my nails after application, I apply every other day. I don’t remove it either. I just apply a new coat over the old coat. If I’m painting my nails after application, I reapply once a week when I do my nail care routine.
Don't mean to be rude but...WRONG...you are NOT CUTTING dead skin...that is living skin tissue that you should NEVER cut! The "cuticle" is the sticky white stuff left on the nail after you push back that living skin tissue! SO MANY people cut into that LIVING skin thinking it is dead skin cuticle, but that is WRONG!!!
