thank you. Great no messing explanation, straight to the point. I noticed my rhubarb was doing well today, so will be making this tomorrow.
made it this evening with custard - lovely - and I did the rhubarb in sugar back in the 60's as well
:o) Thanks
It's a great desert in fact the best
This recipe is awesome!!! I didn’t have to change a thing and it came out amazing 😍
Thanks
Nice dish and nice shirt
Love Rhubarb crumble, thanks Steve, great treat on a cold night with real custard, what better :)
Thanks Sandy, It has been getting pretty chilly here this past week, so this was a welcome warmth. Thanks and have a great day
Steve
Wow, that was special. Love this recipe! I will have to modify it a bit with stevia and molasses but I think I can do it. I love baking the rhubarb as it keep it from going mushy. I am going to pick some rhubarb. Thanks Steve. Everyone should try this, they're in for a treat.
They absolutely should Sharon Rhubarb is really a fantastic fruit, it holds it's shape a releases such good flavor when its cooked, I am so glad you like it. If you haven't had a rhubarb crumble before, please try it, it's so good, really a institution in my family ;o) have a great Day
Steve
Oh, my -- I need that custard recipe for this Sunday!
Down to snip some rhubarb right now!
Use this one, it is sugar free but can be with regular sugar also.
SUGAR FREE CUSTARD - Egg custard Low Carb
Enjoy the weekend

Hi Steve, brings back old memories of a crumble my mum did using Feijoas awesome, I'm doing yours on the weekend ...Cheers
Yarraville ;o) do I know you LOL. now I haven't had Feijoas in ages, what a great choice.. But no, it was not Kiwi by the way, they don't make a nice crumble too soft. It has been guessed by the way, Gooseberry was or is still my favorite, not easy to get hold of but make just the best Crumble or at least have fond memories to me ;o). I hope your crumble comes out well.. let me know.
Steve
The simplest most gorgeous looking crumble on UA-cam 👍🏼
Thanks Terry
I love apple and rhubarb crumble. I am salivating here.
:o) Sorry about that. you'll have to make your own. Have a great day
Steve
Thanks Steve!
You're welcome :o)
Steve
i love this 1 !!!
+Ninda kartour Niasari Me too.. Thanks
Ha ha...happy days! when we were kids (50 odd years ago) we used to raid the neighbours back garden for his rhubarb and our mams' kitchen for the sugar. seen this last year and bought my own rhubarb plant...should have some to make this later. Cheers mate.
Cheers and Happy days indeed, I have similar fond memories.
Very nice. I've never used rhubarb. I've never even tasted rhubarb.
I'll really have to try it sometime. It's a great idea to add some almond meal to the crumble top. I'll definitely be trying that too. The whole thing looks wonderful.
We just must put that right Anne, you can't pass through this beautiful world without experiencing the tart sweetness of Rhubarb, wish I could bake one for you, Crumbles and pudding where a staple of my childhood, Rhubarb, Sour Cooking Apples and Quinces made such great slow cook dishes they are the slow cook meats of the fruit world, hiding all the flavor. I wish I could bake you an Apple Pie with Bramley Apples too, that's a treat not to be missed but it is so hard to find Bramley now because they can't be eaten Raw, I fear Rhubarb might go the same way ;o(
Thanks Anne, have a lovely day
Steve
That's me starving now!
Just made this while my dinner was cooking
Yum
Hi Steve! My favourite crumble is gooseberry, and from your hints, I guess it's yours too? Btw: my Austrian grandma always added strawberries to her rhubarb crumble, they balance out the tartness of the rhubarb nicely.
Hey Sleepsheep, you are spot on ;o). Now strawberries when they are good and in season, like the old fashioned ones had a lot of sugar in them, so that would have been delightful. Great tip and thanks for making the guess, well done.
Steve
Thank you for a straightforward video! My time is valuable also, and I dislike videos that just drag on with alot of chit chat. I'm wondering if regular wheat flour can be used in place of the ground almonds, if we don't have almonds on hand? Thanks
Yes
I am watching this because I have bought Rhubarb crumble from Lidl and before tasting it I want to know what it is.
When I make it i do half raspberry and half rhubarb
Thanks Sara, A lot of people Bake this with soft fruits, mainly Blackberry in the UK, I don't like it that way, I find the berries overwhelm the Rhubarb an it might as well not be there, so please try it with just Rhubarb one day, Rhubarb is subtle but on its own,,, sooo good. The best as you say :o)
Steve
now THAT'S what im talkin' about steve. and you are absolutely correct. its all about the crumble. rhubarb is just another vehical to get the crumble to your mouth lol
Great analogy John ;o) love the Idea, when I was a child that was my thoughts exactly, always hoping I could get the corner and as wide and shallow as possible LOL. Thanks John
Steve
this crumble looks real great, honestly i think i will work something like this up on my peaches
That's great to hear John. Thanks
Steve
I have never tried rhubarb before steve. That looks delicious. I have a mental block and can't think of your favourite one you described. What is it?
Can't tell you Angie, not this early on.. LOL. but it's another sour fruit. If you ever get chance to bake with rhubarb you should, it's really nice.
Have a great Wednesday Angie
Steve
Steve's Kitchen LOL ok hun. Yeah Ill give it a go. I heard it can be bitter.
It is sour, but all the best cooking fruits are :o) not sour when you cook with it though ;o)
Steve
Steve's Kitchen ok Ill try it out. I have a craving for apple pie now for some reason LOL
Try adding ground ginger to the Rhubarb.
Nice tip pete
Pete...I put thin strips of fresh ginger mixed in with rhubarb.
oh

+Sara Nutt Where did you get that idea :o) There is some truth in it.
Can you show us how make a duch apple pie?
It's very similar to my American Apple Pie with this crumble on top. If you want me to make a video, it may take some time and it's better that you mail me at
