My fan went out on the 2nd run with 3s i had a spare fan from the big rock i put on it haven't had a problem since Great runs
Yeah, at least it’s just something minor! I’m hearing so many people have had fans go out on these. Connor ridiculous. They made them like this for so many years!

Its crazy how hard it is to squeeze out those last few mph and break 100! A replacement/better fan will hopefully let you finish at least one pass without thermal issues.

Yes, I am going to need a little more frontal down force but I trimmed the front spoiler too much. The plastic was really flexible so when it was full size, it would bend and scrape on the road badly.
Lol I fried 3 of those fans...2 went out within the first few packs the other lasted maybe a week...bought a cheap 25mm fan on Amazon and its been fine for months

Sorry to see you had problems. I've beat that same esc up over and over on 7700kv on 3s and never had any issues.
Thanks for letting me know! I hope mine is just a fluke.... I was nervous when one of my viewers said they were known for having fan issues at 3s but figured maybe they just had bad luck. We shall see what Hobbywing has to say.

I just got back from a speed run with the Bandit and hit 81.7 mph on 2s! I am pumped. I wanted to run it on 3s to finally hit 100+ but the conditions were just not good today.... didn't even charge up a 3s for fear I would be tempted to run it.

The thing I like about watching speed runs and no prep rc is that there is a goal to aim for. It doesn't matter to me if someone is chasing 50 or 150mph, it's still great watching the process.
I've got a Tamiya rally beetle which is fun. I'm building a Tamiya racing fighter just now and I'm thinking about trying to get it to 40mph.
I'm hoping to build something rwd later in the year - probably based on a no prep car - that'll be able to do 70+
@@the.just.able.biker67 u am right with you! I have a vintage Kyosho Raider that I got over 60 mph and it was a challenge to do so! I also got a Losi LXT and Kyosho Ultima Pro over 60 mph and a little 1/16th scale truck to 57 mph!
Making slow cars fast is a great challenge and I have learned a lot doing it!
If you ever need battery recommendations, I have tested a lot!

Yeah, I lucked out with those crashes! Usually the spoiler is the first thing to break!
The fan on my 10bl120 also went out less than a week after purchase.. only a few runs on 3s and it stopped working. Easy and cheap fix though.. my aliexpress replacement has been doing well for the past month or so, and esc never goes in thermal shutdown.

Keep up the testing buddy were all following and hoping for the best. At least you got to make a few passes, beats breaking something instantly, that really sucks lol. I've recently joined some speed run groups, and most seem to be running castle, i've loved the idea of the tuning with hobbywing though. Maybe this is why? Also seen them saying the hobbywing's have gave out mid run and caused crashes. So def be careful. Im still stock but when the time comes idk which im getting. That rear body piece that's kinda flapping, i took the silver nuts with the holes in them, and reconnected it to that wing bar through that piece and it makes it nice abd stable. New pb got to 74 the other day, it has juice left, but i gotta get a better runway, im in ohio, this shouldn't be that hard.. But most low traffic roads are only single lane roads, and the last road was a real narrow road that wasn't even hardly 1 lane on each side. But it had soft berms. Which is always a huge plus.

Thanks for checking it out! That is a good idea with the little silver nuts. I had tape on mine but I never retaped it after the fire. 74 mph is getting up there! What was your setup? Yeah, I also have a hard time finding good road by me. Usually my issue is too much traffic, too many curves, curbs, or too narrow.
I would LOVE a Castle setup (especially the ESC so I could do data logs but they are a bit out of my price range right now). I wanted to stay with the stock electronics but when the Velineon ESC cooked off, I figured it would be fun to compare the old Velineon vs the cheap Hobbywing as I wasn't seeing any good comparisons on UA-cam.
I think on one of my runs it cut out and made me crash but this may be because I had raised the LVC to 3.4v per cell... not sure. I am going to shut it off next time I run in case my stupid tall gearing is causing bad voltage sag.
@@BriansRCStuff Oh for sure, there's tons of variables for peoples mishaps, so you'd have a castle if you invest in another esc? I have a vxl3 in a slash i don't use( going to be my on road basher) at least when i have the funds to get like a max8 or something. But last time i tested it out, the steering seemed laggy/delayed. Ill have to test it again, but id ship it to you if i figured out why the steering was weird lol. I have the bandit with stock esc/motor with slipper eliminator, 44t 32p spur with a 31t pinion. Put about i think 7 oz in the car above the steering servo to stay under the body. Haven't really lifted the front end since adding, along with bending the rpm bumper angled down more. Hit 74 last time. Oh i also added stampede a arms/links/shafts to widen it up a bit to aid with not flipping, which i spun out last outing and it completely spun out and didn't even try to flip. My only charger is a traxxas so once i invest there as well im going to invest in better lipos.
@@BriansRCStuff i thought i had replied oops, i got stock vxl combo with stampede or rustler a arms/links to widen it up, with a 31t pinion and 44t spur with a slip eliminator on 32p gears, about 7ish oz stuffed on top of the servo plate, on hoons in the back and some proline drag front wheel that i glued together from a local hobby. I need to get back out but i have a hard time motivating myself to go look for good spots, because im likely to crash anyway lol. I don't even know enough about electronics to know what voltage sag would do? I'd assume it would shut off the esc because it thinks the battery is dead? All these intermittent spaced out speed runs is really making me want to invest in my 2nd slash now lol. I'd love to just have a car to drift and rip around a parking lot. Speed runs need so much space.
There is no bec on the 10bl120 fan meeds run to the receiver
I would just put metal heatsink and metal fan on esc. Rocket rc fans work great. 25mm

Hobbywing said they would send me a new one but it will probably just another crappy one so I guess I should just get a decent one!
The bandit- love it. I do still like the velenion- just my opinion i have cooked a couple esc 's that were hobbywing. Many people will disagree but i guess its the nature of the beast 😎 i gotta get something like you got there for front down force' and them tires are absolutely perfect!
Seems to be people either love them or hate them. I am still reserving judgement…. I will give it a few more chances and see how it goes!

@@parizrc76 nine if the connectors seemed to be the type that fit directly into the receiver. Did you need an adapter?

@@BriansRCStuff buy new fan maybe come with jst connector, you must replace the connect to fix in to receiver slot, you can cut from all fan connector and fix to new fan.. for same size to fix into the receiver. (Change the connector)

The new one has no higher of an amp rating, but apparently the fan is suited for its rated voltage, which is an obvious improvement that should’ve been addressed many years ago.
