A fellow mass-hole?!? Where abouts?
@ for people who don't have storage for massive kayaks, both in-house and on-vehicle.
Can you make a striped bass video?
could you make a video where you fish trout using fish roe?
Can I give you a tip? Try putting a stopper bead in between the weight and the swivel. It saves your knots
I was convinced until I heard “seltzer”
LMAO
I was like yeah. And then it happend 😆
Agreed, was going to post the same thing
Seltzer = beta beer
Beer tastes like shit so does seltzer anyone saying otherwise is probably lying to themselves
As a fellow stock trout fisher, canned corn also works very well
Cheaper
Sadly corn is illegal where I live :(
@@DarkFlamesRisnaltsame...sucks
@@DarkFlamesRisnalt Check to see if you are allowed to use corn as bait. Most places only restrict it as chum. Also, hot dog slices.
Depending on how they were raised, I usually find stocked trout taste like mush. Wish they tasted like wild ones 😩
never met a stocked trout I didn't like 😁 are you icing them right after you catch? mushiness could come from getting warm, or the blood seeping into the meat
i believe that "odd" flavor is due to the (corn?) pellets they are fed while in the nurseries. as well as the body of water they are stocked into (for the rare few that carry over)
@@Tackle2thePeople absolutely the truth.
They straighten up after living wild a bit.
@@Tackle2thePeople the white meat vs the orange is not even comparable. i always bleed it then gut and throw it on ice till i’m home then throw it in a salt and ice brine
"Watch as I turn this GUY into caviar..." yeah, something tells me that's not gunna workout the way you think... lol
Fish milk???
Mucho pesce Leche
You better not be assuming that fish’s gender you bigot
Man’s out here complaining about misgendering a FISH 😂
@@Scoutussy not complaining.... more of a warning. You can milk a bull all you want but I'm not gunna eat any of that cereal.
“Crack a seltzer and watch the Sunrise.” Was upset about the seltzer choice until I realized it was morning drinking. Then I gained all respect back haha
Seltzer still shit morning doesn't make it better
@@molybdenumrose blah blah blah. You just saying that cause everyone else is. Be a leader not a follower
@@molybdenumrose nobodys triggered. Just cracking jokes. You're obviously the weak minded. Go drink a seltzer if you can even buy one
It’s 4 o’clock somewhere
still gay
My dad used to take me fishing all the time since I was 5 years old till maybe 16-17 and Im really bummed out he never takes me anymore and your channel convinced me Im going to get a kayak a good rod and go get em. Love your channel
Loved how he left the zip tie on like all of us whos got one 😂😂
Been using power eggs for twenty years. Stocked or lake trout still love them. One chartreuse and one orange gets them every time.
Love how he’s drinking before the suns even up😂
Wouldn’t call a seltzer “drinking”
i agree 100%!
powerbait is absolute killer for the stocked trout. yellows and greens seem to work consistently for me.
yellow is the juice! rarely have success with other colors
Ohhhh.... he said seltzer!!!
Lol. Cue not to listen to him
Gotta watch my hourglass figure guy
@@Steven-hf7rg lol. cue to be less critical of decisions that have no bearing on your life
Thanks bro, Caught my first trout with this setup a nice 6 pound brown trout!
I make my own steelhead caviar but I don’t eat it. I use it for bait.
Extreme philly fishing has a great video on why power bait works so well and the history of trout fishing I highly recommend it.
Love the trout videos
thanks!
@@Tackle2thePeople correct me if I'm wrong caviar is from stergons
Enjoy the sunrise!! Well said… I love fishing trout
Loving that rod rest bro! Haha
I remember fishing in a public military stocked pond. There was Golden trout in there and I remember catching that lunker as a kid. Special moment that day. Was using power bait as well.
I have also found that stocked trout go nuts for the off brand fire tiger ratl-traps. Only try it if you want to keep the fish tho because the hooks will sometimes end up fatally hooking the fish
This the guy who eats the 8” stockers right when the truck drops them off😂.
What’s wrong with that?
@@MyBoomStick1 they don’t taste like trout and most the time their diet will completely ruin the meats flavor
@@joeloweryourexpectationsbiden what about farmed trout? I love me a seafood counter rainbow broiled with a boat load of butter
@@MyBoomStick1 to me it’s about the same, I’ve gone my whole life eating wild trout and something about the texture of the meat changes. I think the best fish has a little bit of seasoning cooked over a campfire, however you prefer with a little lemon wedge
@@joeloweryourexpectationsbiden well that sounds amazing, never had wild trout but the best fish I have ever had has always been ones caught the same day by yourself or people you’re with, so I’m sure you’re not wrong
I'm Princeton is this is super useful, glad to see another masshead on here
You can also use power bait for smaller fish to like crappie and bluegill
Pretty sure your rooster tail identifies as a Panther Martin ..
Well it is 2022 we don't lure shame come on man
Are you assuming that lures identity?
I identify as an unfunny joke.
dude i just got into fishing and i turn to your chanel for literally everything i need to know about fishing
Lmao "seltzer"

Try using the red garlic powder eggs the work so well and I caught a 16 inch rainbow trout on them
Sick
I can’t tell if this is positive or negative😂
Love some good ol Massachusetts content. Keep up the goof work
You can tell his personality by “seltzer”
And power bait… lol corn is better
Trout fishing will forever be my favourite type of fishing
Crack open a seltzer 😭
I love this guy his content is very good.
My now passed grandfather didn't like the taste of stocked trout, and he showed me all the little local holes under bridges and tucked back in the game lands where we pulled out nice native rainbows Everytime. They usually don't get as big but they taste so good.
Absolutely love your technique! Also that was a beautiful fish!
Just a tip, if you use the Carolina rig out a bead after the swivel to prevent the swivel from breaking
Rainbow power bait with glitter is the best 👍...just be sure to wash off any scent from your hands before finishing
Glitter is poisonous and stays in them forever. I would never use it but I find glitter in all the trout I catch. Please stop using poison, might as well use corn which is illegal in my state. They can't process either one of these cheater baits. Use blood worms or an artificial lure
Weight on bottom with line above with small circle hook like drop shot with powerboat and just let it sit halfway in water column will catch any east coast stocked rainbow trout it’s not a skill or fun bite but will catch all them! Saw a guy do it then I did and caught my personal best 5lb rainbow and limited out in an hour!
Power bait works all year round! Green when the water is below 65 degrees and orange for 70+
Gut the first one you catch .. through out thet guts ..perfect bait ❤ good advice
I live in Washington state but the climate is essentially the same so I’m definitely going to be trying to do more fishing using these tips. Thanks for them buddy
I remember me and my dad back in the day we went to an area that after a while had to start being stocked with fish. My dad's been in angular basically all of his life and he's been teaching me for very long time as well. One thing he knows though is that powerbait is stupidly effective at getting fresh plants. Even compared to a lewer. They don't see shiny things yet as possible food so brightly colored round objects is stuff that they were being fed at the Hatchery.
Guys would be sitting next to as dumbfounded as they were sitting there not getting a single bite on their line for hours while we would limit out within the hour. And that's exactly what we use that bright yellow green powerbait.
Lightly breaded and pan fried trout roe is SO GOOD!
You need to have some 15 mins long vid bro i need to watch you fish so satisfying
Especially on those moonwalker lures need to watch you fish with that
This does work. I used this rig in Oregon and caught rainbow trout. When it was suggested to me I was wary at first but I was wrong
Yup powerbait i got a 23 1/2 rainbow on Monday on those yeellow magnum eggs.
Powerbait on a big fish works like the week it's stocked, they wise up pretty fast. Small trout will keep eating powerbait for months
What an absolute fucking inspiration, I’m from Boston been watching u fish since less then 1k followers ur following my dream and I haven’t even started but definitely going to start soon
Appreciate you following us since the humble beginnings! Best of luck bro 🙏
Try using a Carolina keeper it allows you to adjust leader with out having to break line and retie I was skeptical at first and I use 2lb line and I never have issues
We always used the salmon eggs to catch trout pautzkes green label the Berkeley ones will work too
Bread lightly fry and pink caviar is great
Carolina rig is 👍 I'm in lakes region NH it's a quick trip between lakes, ponds, rivers and brooks. Good variety of conditions and species.
That first in-line spinner that was in the trouts mouth when you first started talking about the bait to use, I have that too and just used it I caught a pretty big pond monster
I love the trout. Mainly catch and cook.
Here in Kentucky they hit spinners for first month or so and then after a month or so they hit live bait from meal worms to minnows
We have three stocked trout ponds(only rainbow) ponds here just outside of St. Peter, MN & while people do use power baits, the 2 go to baits are crappie minnows & wax worms! ALWAYS bring both cuz one day they’ll be biting on minnows & switch to wax worms the next, or even switch throughout the day.
Can you find floating power baits? If so you can rig it Carolina rig and small hook so that the bait floats. Works great everytime. This stock trout could eat our trout.
I've not used powerbait dough for about 5 years, I found out about Mouse tails which are amazing for still fishing.
MA represent! Nice tip man, I have noticed after awhile they get off the powerbait, and chase lures more!!!
In Rhode Island enjoying the new ones!!!
Cream corn works really well, as well as dog food.
Im on Cape and I've never had good luck with power bait. Worms all the way. I'll even swim down and grab muscles to use as bait sometimes.
This dudes just out there for the white claws
I really like trout fishing but one of the bad things is I don’t like going early in the morning
There’s some sort of secret formula with powerbait, where, it has an extreme similarity to what they feed trout in hatcheries.. this is why powerbait is effective for stocked trout since it resembles what they’ve grown up on, and even works months after trout of settled from their stock.
Tell me y I’m jealous of the old tht Trout looked like it was fire
Did... did you bump your head? Are you ok?
I use neon glowballs at Bennett springs here in Missouri and they are very effective
What i got from this video was powerbait and some weird thing that looked like weight.. You must’ve used a cork too, right? How deep do you let the hook go, do you yank in it to attract or just leave it there? How often do you re-throw it and what areas in the water do you think have a high probsbility of trouts?
Can confirm power bait is almost unfair vs stock trout they love it
As a Masshole who wants to fish one day, thanks 🙏
When I was younger at the Springfield sportsman’s show trout pond, my dad would help me and other kids “fix our bait”. He had powerbait in his pocket and smeared it on all the kids hooks when nobody looked 😂
Orange and pink mixed colored powerbait is the ultimate stocked trout bait, forget that yellow/green crap
Tight lining like this works everytime at the trout parks, the only downside is that they often swallow the hook, so don't do this if you plan to catch and release
The fisheries feed them a yellow food pellet, hence why corn is illegal in mass. It looks like their food. Ironically they sell a corn powerbait kernel and I was tossing them in west boylston while talking to the dcr guy and he didn’t seem to care.
that caviar looks sooo godly
Power bait is good but shortly after stocking it really stops working.
Everyone’s onto that and so the fish catch on pretty quickly since everyone does it.
That’s actually my trick for garunteed catch days for the kids, they set up a net around the boat ramps and release a ton of trout into the net and let all the kids catch at least one before they pick up the nets and release whats left of the fish.
We always use powerbait and spend less than a couple minutes with the rig in the water and most of the day is spent cooking and eating the fish on the fire while we cast from somewhere with less people.
Oh yes.. the Carolina Bait with the Snibbler Snapsnibble!
Up here in Manitoba I just use rigs and sit on my trustee boat, up here in the lake I fish in we range from little 14" rainbows to big 22" ones.
Rainbow color powerbait with mikes glowing garlic juice is what I use out in Washington state and they bite all day
Power bait definitely works in Massachusetts. One downside is the vicious little snappers love that and I hate unhooking a snapper. Especially those little 5lb ones.
That caviar looked 👍🏻… trout season coming to an end here in coachella valley 😞
The thing that gets done for me it was the seltzer 😍🔥🤩🙏🏼
Ayeee Mass shit haha🤙 nice vid
I would recommend corn, in Illinois corn works just as good as power bait but it's 1/5th the price
Soured corn. I can tell you it's works just as good if not better than power bait. 1- 8oz can of sweet corn in a half pint mason jar. Juice and all. Cover with a cloth and let sit out in the open air for 3 to 5 days to a week. Then put the lid on it and keep it in the fridge. For whatever reason trout love it. 2 or 3 kernels on a #6 hook and you're golden. 1 can should last you the entire spring trout season.
does that work for carp too?
@@roardinoson7 I don't know about the carp. I only caught one my entire life and it was on a worm.
Okay I think I've heard it before but need to be refreshed. What are the downfalls to using a stronger line?
Hey random, but if you haven't Peppersmill over on Rt9 is a nice spot for stocked trout and some beautiful smallies
Slide the eggs over the hook will definitely help with the hookup rate
Hell yea, fish in a barrel my favorite
The gods are rolling over in there Graves Seltzer? Powerbate? Pole holder from Walmart? We're all doomed!
Lol yup weird world we live in now
If you can, wild are the way to go. As far as eating the eggs...just freeze them and tie them into sacks for fishing more trout...its a win/win.
That trout looks soooo delicious 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Wow, I always used to throw the egg heavy ones back. Gotta play the long game if you want to catch wild born next year
Used to going fishing out in colorado for rainbow and cutthroat trout and everything this guy says is true
Stocked trout should be cleaned (especially the bloodline, gills removed, but leave head on) scaled, washed THOROUGHLY with cold water, dried with paper towels, rubbed with salt and then dry aged on a wire rack horizontally with the belly flaps out to the side like a butterfly for at least 5 days. Put the rack over a pan filled with baking soda. Makes them absolutely amazing. Meat gets firm, oils come out and the taste develops to something close to a great quality salmon.
I use a long liter at the end with a #18 tremble hook.
Garlic power bait can't go wrong with stocked trout 👌
I always include a bead between the weight and the swivel just to add that extra protection for the knot!
In SE Tennessee while visiting during the summer we just used corn.
I live in Louisiana, and they stock a lot of our state ponds with rainbow trout lol I know I know, but I'm gunna try to go catch them this weekend but it's been raining and super windy but I'll gunna give it a try anyway, they only do it once a year in early January
I like how he shows his pole holder and still proceeds to use a stick.
Holy smokes! MASSACHUSETTS!
