This era of bikes brings me back to my childhood. I’m 29 years old, so these were the bikes my dad and his buddies rode. CRs, YZs, KXs. I remember being 5,6,7 years old and hearing them kick over these 2 stroke beasts. The smell, the sounds. It’s what made me fall in love with dirt bikes from the beginning. I love them and I always will. The 4 stroke may be the future, but the 2 stroke is and always will be the king.
Agreed. I love riding both 2 and 4 strokes, but the smell, the vibrations, the rawness of this era of bikes is so satisfying. Glad to bring back some nostalgia for ya!
Your content is so good btw, thank you for putting in the time and energy in making them. I’m rebuilding a 2003 kx 250 and these videos are a big help in the process.
I agree same goes for me. I always wanted a 2 stroke with a big fatty pipe. Love the smell and sound. Finally my x fiancée bought a 95 kx 250 for her 16 year old son. He drove it in to the ground. He didn’t know. So I took it on. 3,500 later I love it with all my heart. I love that kx 250 95 I love spending money on it. Eventually I’ll get all titanium and aluminum bolts. Every thing will be knew. I don’t have a work space at the moment but once I rebuild my life I start spending time and money on her again. Thank you for the video. I love watching it. I’m doing the same thing. I wish. I had a shop like yours and more money but great job. You’re very knowledgeable.
An extra week of work and it could been ten times better considering you have all the tools to do so and had the bike torn all the way down makes no sense
An extra week is a significant amount of time. And had I gone that far, I'd have kept going farther, and the bike would've taken 2-3 more months. I drew a line on this one. All I wanted to do was get it running again and freshen it up again and ensure someone is riding it this summer, not next year.
Love it! Since You used Duplicolor paints, Should used their "Metalcast Purple " on the levers. Just a thought. I revived a 1989 RM 250 Year's ago, Painted the Frame Purple (from yellow) added a New Seat cover (Purple/Yellow Camo pattern) loved that bike. Great re build on a budget, keep them Coming 👍
I’d like it for free man I could use it my dad would love it we only have 2 bikes lol. And would you know where you could buy 1987 plastics because that’s the year of bike we have Kawasaki kx 85
congrats bro, I don't know how you do it but you did it again. I am in love😍😍😍😍🤣. That kawi looks TOO CLEAN😎. Congrats on 60k subs bro. Love watching your content, can't wait for the cr250 👍🤙
Really enjoy this revival builds! As a racer it’s not worth it polishing every part in low visibility areas cuz they just get dirty right away. This is definitely a racers build cost effective and super reliable.
There is right around $2,800 into the build including the $1,000 cost of the bike if I paid retail for everything. I do save some on that with my sponsors. I'd love to do a full breakdown if I have time, although there is a lot of content in the works haha! I will put it on the list, but if I don't get to it there's your number at least!
Funny you ask, I'm working on a video about this. I had hoped to post it on my one year anniversary of quitting my job (June 29th), but I'm going to run out of time. It will be posted sometime in July. But yes, this is my main job!
@@KincadePavich thanks for the update.. that's what I originally thought.. I got a message stating it was and thought you should know. Id send you a picture but, not sure how.

Killing it with the great content lately man. Bike looks unreal for a quick build. Look forward to the Cr build you have planned 🤘

I thought 250's had white backgrounds and 125's had black backgrounds...
What year is this KX? I have a 1998 KX 250 I’m trying to restore!
The full build videos are rad but I gotta say I enjoy the commentary you do 10x more! Rad build. 🤘🏼
Thanks! I think I will likely commentate this start to finish video. Appreciate the comment
Building a $850 KX125 rn...... parts on the way.

I like that you stuck with the original plastic stule
Sweet man...love seeing bikes brought back to to life. Where the wheels new... painted or what.? Didn't catch that part.
Painted, check out episode 2 or the full 30 minute start to finish transformation will be posted next week showing the process as well!
Where do you get your books on how to assemble the engine together? I have a 2002 honda crf450r and its fully disassembled.
Depends. eBay or a google search. If I can find a free PDF I use that.

Thanks a lot! Yep, couldn't bring myself to do a full build on this one. Just wanted to get her going!
where do you order plastics from? I'm doing a rebuild on a 1983 rm125 and i need some new lookin plastics
nvm i got it lmao, commented at the start of the video
I totally agree with you, Kincade. That Kawi Green with the purple is soo sick. Nice revival of an old steed.
Much appreciated!
What frame guards r those? I'm after some for my 08 rm 125 and can't find any that suit.
These are OEM. I would check and see if Pryme MX has any available for that RM125 though.
That bike is awesome, been watching your videos for quite some time now. great work
