Une interprétation vraiment exceptionnelle. La clarté, la musicalité, l'aisance, la grâce et l'humilité.... Ce ne sont pas les grands interprètes qui viennent à Bach mais Bach qui vient à eux...
BRAVA!!! I grew up listening to my father play this as a warm-up when he'd sit down to an evening at the piano. (Chopin, Beethoven, and Rachmaninov followed.) Your dynamics and pacing were excellent, and your facial expressions gave away how much you were enjoying playing it. Thank you so much for posting this!
I came across this video while searching for recordings because I'm learning this piece but stay here for the lovely music. The way you play always warm my heart. Thank you❤️
Came across this by accident. What an accident!!! A good one. This is SUPERB!! Better even than the late great Rosalyn Tureck in her best years. Many thanks for sharing this and very best wishes for your future notable career. Thank you!
Perfection - word that describes Natalie. I know many pianists which play one exact genre or period of music well but you fit in all of them with your smile 😊 I wish you all the best ❤️
So much meaning and lightness, yet strength and soul in those few notes, my favorite version I've heard so far. The prelude is exceptional, and so is the fugue
From 2:35 - 3:20 it's amazing to see the range of emotion in your face in just that small span. You look like you experienced 10 different emotions, one right after the other.
Bravo! I'm just starting to learn this piece. You so clearly enjoy playing this music. I believe J. S. would have been very pleased and impressed with your rendition of this beautiful piece of music.
I know it's already a good while back, but I really like how you play! What a joy to watch/hear.. and a distinct impression that it's a joy for you to play it. I know it's an absolute contradiction in terms, but you make Bach look easy!
I have been listening to baroque and classical music for nearly six decades now and I am surely positively surprised that young pianists, most of them female, found their unique style interpreting Bach nowadays!
I currently learn this piece. It is joyful, even possibly the most joyful prelude and fugue from the Welltempered Clavier. I watched many renditions, András Schiff, Glenn Gould, and others. This here is my favorite because she plays with so much joy, innocence, lightness -- as if it is nothing but expression of love for the music, enjoying herself. It really helps finding one's own expression taking her mood as a basis.
Natalie, you are an inspiration, I have been learning Praeludium 3 for 4 months and I know it is a lot of hard work to learn this piece. Honestly, it is diploma level! That's very good for a 13 year old!
@@markk438 Known what chu mean. Trying to see how fast I can learn it. The melody patterns feel a little irregular to the hand when you try and put them together. I think the best bet to start out is to get used to playing the subject line (soprano, alto, tener and so on using one hand) for at least the exposition and connect it to the sequence in the episode that follows. There really is a sufficient amount of variation of the base elements to make this quite challenging. Really the hardest part will be making it sound free and playful. That probably requires either brute force practice over time or concentrated mental practice.
+Eyob Sisay (Edge) haha I already kinda do that, but thx anyway :) you might want to check out some of my videos of you'd like; my playing has made steady improvement using the ultimate"secret."
You probably might like to check out my latest video of me playing at a contest (kind of like the recital hall this video was taped inside but a little fancier).
Good! Analysing phrasing (and chords) is one thing I might suggest, also practicing occasionally about 50% tempo and hands seperately quite late into learning so the phrasing is correct in both hands and hands are 'independent'.. Anybody can play fast but to get the most out of music some 'brain work' is also necessary in addition to pure 'mechanical' practice.. I'd like to think with more 'brain work' the hours needed for concert level performance are greatly reduced.. (unless you're a 'prodigy' so almost everything comes naturally already ;-) Famed academic level teacher also helps ;-)
I clicked on the video because I saw the title. I want to learn something Bach that's not too complex. But then I saw Natalie and I thought "That's probably too hard." Some people just have talent and the rest of us has to work hard and it's still not enough.
@@johnmiller599 of course she does, but that's not what I meant. I watched a lot of her performances and none of them are easy to play. So I didn't know she is the performer. I just clicked because I saw Bach. And when I saw her I knew it's not going to be easy. P.S. I know if I put the same hours I won't be able to play like her. pracrice is important but don't tell me talent doesn't matter
Did she win the competition ? Because if she didn't she would really have deserved it anyways ! Beautiful playing, Natalie, you're amazing ! Keep up the good work !
I love the way she is moving her head as she is playing the piece, with a light smile.
It´s the best and most beautiful interpretation of this prelude and fuge that i´ve ever heard. bravo, bravo!!!
The Fugue starts at 1:35 - thank you for this great performance !
Best performance of this prelude and fugue i've heard in a long time.

My favourite rendition. I've listened to this so many times. So much joy. Many thanks
Ce Prelude Natalie, quelle merveille, on vous y prenez tellement de plaisir, ça s'entend, je suis comblé.
Et la fugue! Une pièce vraiment costaud, et à part une petite boulette, c'est génial....

So wonderfully played.. one of the best interpretations I've ever heard.. her performance made my soul dance..

she looks like she's really enjoying her playing! very nice
I like your tone and your joy from your face. J. S. Bach's prelude is delightful!
It's nice to see you having fun playing your own music. Thanks!
Phenomenal...absolutely breathtaking.
Beautiful performance! Excellent control and expression. Very very nicely done :)
Music unites mankind. Especially the one of JSBach.
👍👍👍 Un vrai plaisir de vous écouter ! C'est magnifique !

This is exactly how it should be played: with clarity, rhythm, joy, and A BIG SMILE ! bravo

The best interpretation of this piece. Absolutely amazing.
That was a VERY fine performance!
This was so beautifully played and was a joy to listen to.
The perfect galloping rhythm and pace for the fugue!
I love this piece. Wonderfully played!
Magnifique!
Beautiful ! You rival any Bach high-flyers !
I have been listening to baroque and classical music for nearly six decades now and I am surely positively surprised that young pianists, most of them female, found their unique style interpreting Bach nowadays!
I would love to know what place you got in this competition. You played well, brava! 🎉😊
Brilliant ! Fascinating !
Love to see the face expression. Other musicians don’t enjoy music like u do. Great job!
I want more Bach from you!

Beautiful. This one conveys so much happiness. Bravo. )))
Prélude no 3 : 00:20
Fuga no 3 : 1:37
I checked out Gould's version. I much prefrer Schwamova's. She brings out the JOY!
Her slight smile is so sweet.
Absolutely great!!!!!!
Amo a Bach, excelente interpretación
Wow, amazing and beautiful

Masked Pianist the fugue is so freaking hard tho

How do you know she is 13?
@@shaihazony7491 Because she was born in 1999, and this was recorded in 2013.
2:43 Oooh I love that left hand passage!
I wish to play it as well as Natalie before I am 100. The best yet.
I really love the way you play.
Wow your technique looks so natural and every note is so clear! I wish I was as good as you were. Your playing looks almost effortless?

At some moment it felts you played from you heart it was absolutely magical ^^ These moments were the best interpretation i ever heard of this fugue!
A very unique performance!!
Nice tone!
¡ Muy buena interpretación!, ¡bravo!

Fantastic!
Cis-dur preludium naozaj krásné :-) Svyatoslav Richter ho hrá s "atakom". Natalia ho hra precitene až poeticky Naozaj nádherné :-)
Incredible

Los aplausos que se producen en la sala cuando entra Khatia. Pienso que es normal
KHATIA???
Wow! *_*
I liked the fact that you're not playing it like a robot
What were your results for the competition? This is fantastic
In case you were not aware of this...the key is C# Major. EVERY note is sharp!
dsm2240 F natural and B natural are played in C# major.
+Garrick Baker what? no its not....
I meant F and C, or E# and B# Sharp
Ah ok that makes sense
IDEM.
I dare even say it's on par with Richter's version. Schwamova's version is not so fast, but she plays (imho) much more decisive.

Fugue 1:35〜
ヽ〔゚Д゚〕丿スゴイ !!!! 感動しました
Okay .. ( I'm not english) you have do a masterclass ?
Are you using the pedal all the time or it´s an impression of mine?. You push it in the beginning and never release it.
The pedal is definitely not down the whole time, only at certain moments like at 1:29 to connect an arpeggio
1:44 the two notes should be played together but it’s so much easier for the fingers to play them ever so slightly apart so most do
And only 13 !
