I had many unusual ships built, but my alliance called them fail-fits.
(Key word here is "HAD" because my alliance had the rule: "If we ever catch you flying one of these monstrosities, you're getting pod express." And believe me, they had ship scanners on undock, my mistakes had the expiration of yogurt in the sun.)

I don't think so, the station is probably going to use it's tractor beam to do something similar to moon mining except it will pull PI resources from the planet and the new indi ship will get bonuses for mining the PI mats

my view on the banana boat construction: the eve people are another set lost Hiigarans but are not Kiith having lost any connection to the Hiigaran Kiith system eons ago however they look ready to show us all that the way to Hiigara might be possible XD
just seeing this trailer with people walking around in the station makes me so damn sad that incarna fell through... it had so much potential and yet all people did was whine about it... sigh...
The only whining I ever heard come from Incarna/Walking in Stations was that people actually wanted to do more with it than just stand in the captains quarters. I remember being there when the patch hit, there was nothing but excitement and buzz about what people would do once we got access to walk around the full stations.

And they waste their resources on Doomed FPS games.
Because they quickly learned how complicated making those dungeons (Closed/single opening sublevels) really is. Then they learned there was no possible way the current game engine could handle the Kismet required to make funtional objects in the game world: Example: Fallout 3 to Fallout 4.

300km implies Space Elevator type of thing. It's just a tad lower than our ISS orbit.
Space Elevator deals with planetary goods.
So, a new Ore ship, 300km tractor beams, large orbital structures, and cloning tech.
Sounds to me like those structures will show up around some planets to provide some sort of warclone thingies for ppl to go down into the planets and possibly fight for the change to set up mining camps and then the new ship comes into play with its long range tractor beam sucking the raw ore from the planet and into its cargo hold up in low orbit.
Am I missing any of the pieces to this puzzle or any other detail in the video? I think this sounds pretty stellar tbh

I'm guessing this is a PI structure & a PI ship that can bypass the PI structure if you'd like to not pay the customs office tax? Or a clone transport.
Not sure what the clones do here but Vanguard seems to far away time wise that it would seem crazy to start including them in regular EVE activities in 2024.

hoping for a alpha clone friendly hauler that lets you carry around something like 3 assembled frigs in your haul. would be nice so we wouldnt have to backtrack so much to move assembled ships around :x
What's the over/under on us having a structure in orbit around a planet, and using a tractor beam emanating from it to rip materials off of the surface for harvesting? PI revamp, in short?

That sort of pi revamp would actually suck. Take pi out of the hands of players and into the hands of alliances and corps. And update that that will wipe out atlesst 25% of online characters in the game due to many plexing with pi.
PI rework that will turn it into an active process. You need to anchor a structure at a planet, have it run with fuel and have ships in space to do the activity, just like passive moon mining was turned into an active process with Athanors and need to actually mine in space. Would align with CCPs goal of getting people into space and generate content. This is my bet.
Only issue is PI needs to be accessible to a wide range of players. The rework must remember that.
Let's see what we got. It is smaller than Orca. It have drone components. It has a 300km tractor.

I don't know what it is but a new PI transport ship could be cool I'd really like to see a dedicated bridging platform that more accessible to smaller groups then a titan.
A dedicated bridging platform for smaller groups than a titan is a black ops ship; Marshall, Redeemer, Sin, Widow, Panther.
But considering it's smaller and similar design to an Orca, it could be a T2 Industrial Command ship. By limiting it's signature radius they might be releasing an Orca which can fit a covert ops cloak letting it be jumped with titans and black ops.

A new class of mining ships would be awesome. We've had the exact same 6 barges/exhumers since I started playing in 2008. Considering we have the mining frigates, the barges/exhumers that occupy the medium/cruiser class, honestly I feel like it's time we finally get a proper large/battleship class mining ship. I love the Hulk, it will always be one of my favorite ships in the game, but it's been almost 20 years, it's time for an upgrade.
A L4 Mission Porpoise with 4 mining turrents and 1500 dps. Also it has align time of 1,99 secs and can fit cov ops cloaking device and has bonuses for ecm and warp core strength of 8. It has a compressor and can transport 400 000m3 ore, gas, ice, ships and other items. And it warps with 48 AU/s and has a drone bandwidth of 250mbit/s + it is the first ship which can operate 10 drones. Butttt it will have only 1200 ehp and cost around 20 billion. A dream for ccp and players alike 😅
