Honestly, one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise is the opening scene to Dino Thunder. The music that plays while Tommy is escaping the island and fighting off the Tyrannodrones just makes it that much more epic and the progression of the piece matches the scene perfectly.
I agree. But I will say that there were definitely some standout tracks in the Disney era, which is more than I can say for Neo- Saban. Though I do think Dino Fury was definitely a step up. I hope going forward, the showrunners realize the importance of a good soundtrack.
As a kid that loved dinosaurs Power Rangers Dino Thunder was my favorite. I grew up around Jungle fury, Ninja storm, Dino thunder, SPD and mystic force but I barely watched mystic force though.
This was an informative video. I had no idea of the stock music throughout the Disney era was factory made, I just thought they made it for Ninja Storm and recycled it. The background music during the Post Zordon Era always spoke to me and I'm happy you managed to put into words of how great it was. From In Space - Wild Force, the music had its own identity which is what made it so memorable. I know fans love Ron Wasserman, I like the vocal songs too but the instrumental music was fantastic also. I still hum some of the tracks from this era, and if they're ever released (which I know is unlikely), I will buy them in a heartbeat. Though I do think the title is misleading this was a good video. I don't know if you have more PR content but I'll love to see more.

Yeah, it kind of was. Some of the music cues were so generic, I've seen them as pre-settings & sound effects packaged in with editing software (at least, if you get the expensive ones, with all the bells & whistles.) I, at least appreciate that they did do one or two unique background songs for each season after Ninja Storm, though.
I could tell that almost all of the Disney era of Power Rangers was AMT, stock music. Except RPM as a bit of original music, which that is good. In Space, Lost Galaxy, Time Force, Wild Force, and RPM music is good.
19:45 Weren't those mandates enforced during the Neo-Saban era? Aside from general Network mandates, most of it was wanting to cut out the darker stuff. SPD producer Greg Aronowitz and Jeffrey Parazzo during a Q/A at their respective Power Morphicon pannels mentioned how the crew intended on more darker or mature storylines, but were ultimatly cut. With only RPM being allowed that freedom. I mean serialization was more common, with the multi-parters being somewhat of mini-arcs in the show. Especially Overdrive where the previous episode would lead to the next. But in general the plot would progress.
I love that you mentioned the various motifs & leitmotifs! I started picking up on it as I watched more seasons. I love the orchestral sounds of the Post-Zordon era. And while the stock music of the Disney era is very noticeable, the original music that could be heard, was so good. I especially love the main motifs & soundtracks for SPD & Mystic Force.

OH MY GOSH, this is too true!!! I've BEEN one of the only people screaming this for the longest!!! With the amazing way Power Rangers used to have their Ron Wasserman & Orchestral Era music, it kills me that Power Rangers can't step up their music department to AT LEAST that level again. Shoot, just listen to the music from Super Sentai & Kamen Rider, and just how dynamically different each Series' leitmotifs & instrumental choices are, and you see just how behind Power Rangers has fallen in this.
Especially Kamen Rider. The hero & villain themes from Kuuga, the ones from all the emotional scenes in Decade & W, all the dynamic music from Gaim, the Asian folk music strikes from Ghost & the Vulcan & Valkyrie theme from Zero-One. Plus, some of the insert songs are just as good as the main themes- the fight music from Ryuki & Kabuto, the final form songs from Kiva & Saber & the Zi-O II insert from Zi-O are all personal favorites.
Man...that scene were Wes' dad discovers Wes' identity as a Ranger always reminds me just how mature the show had gotten by Time Force, before it started to revert with Wild Force. Such a perfectly executed scene, delivering more of the tone you'd expect from a family audience 6pm slot show, rather than from a kids 8am(/4pm) slot show. Something more in line with Star Trek, Quantum Leap or Knight Rider, rather than Saved by the Bell or Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Power Rangers was growing up with it's audience effectively by the time Time Force rolled around. It's a pity, that, despite still having some more mature content (such as the murder of Cole's parents), Wild Force turned the clock back a bit, before almost entirely hard resetting it to "8am kids show" tone with Ninja Storm.
Wild Foece was pretty dark. Master Org ruthlessly killing Cole's parents out of jealousy for example was mature. Cole laying flowers at Dr Addler grave, etc. Overall its arguably darker than Time Force. Ninja Storm was definitely a hard reset though I agree.
@@Godzilla370 As far as Wild Force, I'd agree with you that the story was quite dark and mature - but most of the acting direction wasn't, which led to a weird oxymoronic situation that ruined the overall tone of the series in a way that didn't mesh well and was drastically uneven. For example, those scenes they frequently over-used in Wild Force, were they'd show everybody nod there heads one by one, was the corniest shit ever, and not in the good 80's cheesy kind of way. The acting direction was in stark contrast to the storyline most of the time.
@@KotCR I guess I'm being overly nice on it because it was my first PR series. But I think the Zen Aku storyline was incredible. Zen Aku remains one of the most complex and nuanced characters in all of Power Rangers. It was basically the evil Green Ranger storyline from MMPR but with far more depth. And he was the first villain to bleed if I recall. I think the acting was rough in parts but some parts were good. Cole was especially well acted in emotional scenes (e.g. when he was at his parents grave and crying) and Taylor was consistently well acted. But the others were rough. Imo Wild Force is a lot better than Mighty Morphin, Zeo or Turbo (and much more mature) but falls short of Time Force or Lost Galaxy. That said I do really like Cole even though he is less relatable or realistic as Wes, his unwavering compassion is refreshing. He is like a mix of Tarzan, Luke Skywalker and Dr Dolittle lol.

Finally some appreciation for the cheap and cheesy yet utterly effective and recognizable In Space through Wild Force music!! I thought I was the only one who loves it. PS: What I also need: An analysis of the sound design. It’s quite similar to the evolution of the music. The Disney era (or the NZ production company) did a really bad job on the fight and explosion sounds. Something that was really nice to listen to during the Saban era. That aspect is kind of sad, just because I believe Time Force got a daytime Emmy for sound mixing. That's the only award Power Rangers has ever won, to my knowledge
Um Ron Wasserman's music for the original Zorda Era run and Post Zordon Run was great and outstading, Disney Era Music was Awesome from Dino Thunder had the best along with SPD and RPM, NEo Saban was just bad, Bert Selen for Dino Fury was genius loved his work form his Disney channel shows so i don't think Power Rangers Music is bad, its pretty good, but for Neo Saban YES!! that was bad i will agree on that part, but HAsbro was Awesome
@@mintbari well for one thing like in the seasons Dino Thunder and SPD had some great battle music when it came to Ethan and his Hovercrat Cycle had its awesome theme music, With Connor having its battlizer fight against Zeltrax Awesome, and speaking of awesome the Reflection 2 part episode had great music for the SPD Battlizer and the very dark and sad scene where Sky reveals his saddest memory about his Dad... to MErlock, the Mystic Force ep The Hunter had a great mideval rock theme for Nick's battlizer facing Oculos and the Hydiacks but in RPM had very Dark music when it came to the story of Dillion finding his sister and there was some great music for the season when it come to episodes for Dr. K, Dillion and the episodes where Scott had to fight Shifter one last time, but overall when it came to music for the disney era it all depends on the story and the theme of the season of the show, so that's why.
In my opinion, lightspeed and time force has the best orchestral music. I would actually buy the CDs for the soundtracks. Lightspeed's music is so heroic and triumphant. Time force has the good emotional tones
Hands down to this day zen-aku's flute haunts me to this day and i honestly love it, and the fact they change it to one of the best 6th rangers themes, mirroring the fact that the character are the sides of the coin, just perfect.
That's why we need to bring back individual character themes. It's little things like flipping the theme from haunting to heroic that really puts a smile on my face.
I agree that the stock music in the Disney era Power Rangers was bad but the fight scene music kicked so much ass especially Dino thunder The fighting T drones background music once again kicks so much ass
Idk much about how music is supposed to work in shows most of the time, but this was really helpful. You really highlighted the importance of motif’s for both characters and themes really well. I love the Disney Era personally, but this did help peak out some of the tiny flaws I had glanced over with in most of the seasons. I hope that future tracks can keep improving and reach the same level of work they put into theme songs from MMPR-RPM(Demo 1, not the original)
They did do one or two original songs. I don't think they did any for Ninja Storm. They're usually the ones that stand out. I guess the one point he made with Mystic Force is they attempted to cover some of the stock music with their own music, from time to time, but it's still in there. Dino Thunder, though, I'm pretty sure the guitar riff every time they morphed was the only non-stock, prepackaged background track in the entire season.
the thing that kills me in Dino Thunder his how the Dragon theme sounds like shit but the shot where Zeo Red is walking towards Tommy sounds fucking awesome.
I love the music that plays when odious brainwashes summer cove with the satellite , especially the music that plays when Redbot sees victor and Monty on the monitors .
15:00 I realize you’re mostly talking about the score, but there are some lyrical musical moments, I don’t really like them despite the fact that some if not most of them feature the character(s) not tone deaf… And even I wonder why I wish the current copyright holders would fund a Power Rangers musical adaption, how would I be able to sit through that if I feel the need to take my headphones off whenever there is a musical (lyrical) moment on the show?🤦🏼♀️ That sort of being said and no intentional offense to the actress (in spite of me not expecting what she said back in March 2019 not coming back to bite her where the sun don’t shine), but I really wish they would’ve had Kira Ford cover whatever Disney song in Dino thunder.
I never really noticed the rewatchability issue until now. After thinking about it, I realized I generally only ever go back and rewatch In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, some team ups, and RPM. MMPR - Turbo rewatchability is just not there for me and all of the Disney seasons, with the exception of RPM, are just… boring after the first watch tbh. While the Neo-Saban era is just borderline unwatchable in general. So far Dino Fury does have a bit more rewatchability but no where nearly as much as the Post-Zordon/Pre-Disney seasons.

Except for a few themes, and the movies, I happen to love most of the music. I rewatch a lot of the series and it's the music that brings me back. Some more than others. It could be that I was a teen when it came out.
In my last two videos ( my channel ) i uploaded two no voice background songs from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it was ok, the thing is you still hear some noises in the background, but it's better than most of the songs edited with no voices that you hear from other videos. I loved those tracks, but man... i wished Saban released the background songs, both Zordon and post Zordon Era ( the orchestra songs, they sounded so heroic and villainous at the same time, and i loved them too ). Well, actually the post Zordon Era background songs, the orchestra ones, already started with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, then continuing with the Turbo season through the rest of the seasons until Wild Force, the thing is you notice less orchestra in the Turbo season and more old fashioned Mighty Morphin / Zeo background songs. They started to use less and less Mighty Morphin / Zeo, and a little of Turbo, background songs in the middle of the In Space season in favour for the orchestra ones, though the In Space season had a few new rock background songs that were equally awesome. In Time Force and Wild Force they added a few more cool beating tunes, specially in the first episodes of both seasons ( Time Force had one cool background song that imitated one of Matrix's background songs when the Time Force Rangers were " bullet timing ", or dodging the Cyclobots' blasters' fire in the first, or second, episode ), but that was it. From the Disney Era i only liked SPD background songs, i don't know if Ron made them too, they're different, but there's something about them that i liked. Not to mention the SPD morphing sequence theme that i once told in a UA-cam comment section that sounded like U2's Vertigo intro song. Aaah... Also Dominic's morph theme to the Rhyno Ranger got back to the old orchestra background songs from the post Zordon Era, and i loved that bit. Anyway, why Saban or Disney never released them? It doesn't make any sense. Even Hasbro doesn't release the new ones. What's their deal against Power Rangers background songs?

@@mintbari Ultraman and Tsuburaya is more lax on the content distribution to the point whole series on still uploaded on UA-cam without their permission (somehow). And some series are officially distributed and live streamed on UA-cam! To me, I think Ultraman is pushing harder than Power Rangers because of their online distribution methods and the promotion of their blu-ray and DVD releases for every Ultraman show they can distribute. If only we can get most likely more popular Netflix releases. Though I don't not know what happens when it comes to monetizing their content. I think Tsuburaya is the safest japanese company to do UA-cam content on from watching videos about Ultraman because of their openness for their property (sometimes too much so when it comes to strange license distribution). It's something that needs to have more research on, but the way the community speaks about Tsuburaya and Ultraman. I think Tsuburaya is the outlier in the Japanese company vs. online content field.

I think old Power Rangers Soundtracks do exist, but it's under Ron Wasserman. Where else would anyone have gotten longer versions of the Turbo & In Space theme songs that never once played in the shows or the one movie? It'd be amazing enough to have the skill to clean up the other insert songs with a home PC prior to 2005 & have it sound seamless, but you can't fake an additional two verses & a bridge that never existed.
*Spoilers ahead* but one of my favorite bits of Dino fury's soundtrack is at the end where Tarrick morphs one last time as Void knight and the music playing in the background is the void knight theme but this time more heroic, symbolizing his change to the good side. While the ost can be a tad bit repetitive in terms of overusing some of the rock/techno beats, I'd say it's an improvement over Beast morphers and some of neo saban's shows. Wild Force still tops it though.
Man, this is making me wish we could get soundtracks of the In Space-Wild Force stuff (or all of it, but especially those). It's been so long I forgot or missed a lot of those cues.
I could never understand how they couldn’t synch up the dagger with the music. The fingers always were playing even during the last note, which was clearly held, and there was no beat. We’re talking six easy notes with easy playability but the character gave the same note the same count when you could have easily matched up the beat. Ugh. 14:13 like some kind of Black Panther, lol. I loved the cheesy costuming and posing. Classic.
In Disney's defense, PR was a show they didn't want but got stuck with after buying Fox Kids/Family. Seeing as they wanted to outright cancel it, it's no wonder they were cheap as hell when production continued. If only they'd known that the superhero genre was huge and they could've turned it into something big.
I think Mighty Morphin did well to build up tension with music in series 3. The battles with Master Vile and the Globber were really well scored IMO. Power Rangers is built on rock and metal music, I think going away from that because it's supposedly not cool hasn't done the franchise any favours. I do agree that using an orchestral score for the majority of situations would be a smart thing to do
Hey Idk if you ever might have heard of it but have you ever considered seeing anything like super sentai, or kamen rider or anything tokusatsu as they are basically the unlocalized ver of power rangers or basically the first or originals. Try something like kamen rider build, the first two episodes are on yt but the rest you have to find online
thats one thing i definitely hated about neo saban. yes disney era had alot of stock music but it still felt rewatchable because they tried to give at least some originality with what they had. neo saban just felt like nostalgia bait. and yes its a kids show but i agree that it dosent have to be obvious about it. thats what i loved about time force. it was a kids show but it felt like anyone could watch it and enjoy it. episodic shows can be good but power rangers dose better when its not episodic imo.
Absolutely. Episodic or not, I think they just need to treat he audience with some ounce of respect and not give us regurgitated MMPR. As for the music, yeah Disney wasn't perfect with its stock music but between seasons they tried to give each one a different sound. The Irish/Gaelic music of Mystic Force, militaristic SPD, kung-fu action movie music in Jungle Fury, etc. Noam Kaniel just gave everything the same sound from Samurai through Ninja Steel. These seasons have no musical identity.

Dude, there is so such thing as "too much rock" for me, I'm a sucker for hard rock and metal sounds. The hard rock BGM is MMPR is one of the reasons I love it so much.
Dino fury actually recycles Kamen rider zi-o tracks and either up or down pitches them, its bizzre, why does Hsbro have that music, unless they get Kamen rider with the deal and just dont use it.

@@KotCR The problem with MMPR is that its conssitnely cheesy with 2D characters throughout. I guess it's more even than WF but I'd still rather watch WF. I'd even rank some Disney seasons like Dino Thunder above MMPR. Dino Thunder is basically a better acted more mature version of MMPR. Albeit it has issues as this video notes.
Finally some appreciation for the cheap and cheesy yet utterly effective and recognizable In Space through Wild Force music!! I thought I was the only one who loves it. Especially the Wild Force music. ❤
It’s also probably what I dislike about the Disney era the most. The lack of composed music. It’s also nice to finally get some comfirmation on the stock music part…I always felt like it was stock music but didn’t know about the facts.

PS: What I also need: An analysis of the sound design. It’s quite similar to the evolution of the music. The Disney era (or the NZ production company) did a really bad job on the fight and explosion sounds. Something that was really nice to listen to during the Saban era. And it only got worse during the Neo Saban era.
Some of the Disney era themes were good but that was mostly the early ones (ninja storm through spd)
That aspect is kind of sad, just because I believe Time Force got a daytime Emmy for sound mixing. That's the only award Power Rangers has ever won, to my knowledge
Um Ron Wasserman's music for the original Zorda Era run and Post Zordon Run was great and outstading, Disney Era Music was Awesome from Dino Thunder had the best along with SPD and RPM, NEo Saban was just bad, Bert Selen for Dino Fury was genius loved his work form his Disney channel shows so i don't think Power Rangers Music is bad, its pretty good, but for Neo Saban YES!! that was bad i will agree on that part, but HAsbro was Awesome
@@mintbari well for one thing like in the seasons Dino Thunder and SPD had some great battle music when it came to Ethan and his Hovercrat Cycle had its awesome theme music, With Connor having its battlizer fight against Zeltrax Awesome, and speaking of awesome the Reflection 2 part episode had great music for the SPD Battlizer and the very dark and sad scene where Sky reveals his saddest memory about his Dad... to MErlock, the Mystic Force ep The Hunter had a great mideval rock theme for Nick's battlizer facing Oculos and the Hydiacks but in RPM had very Dark music when it came to the story of Dillion finding his sister and there was some great music for the season when it come to episodes for Dr. K, Dillion and the episodes where Scott had to fight Shifter one last time, but overall when it came to music for the disney era it all depends on the story and the theme of the season of the show, so that's why.

In my opinion, lightspeed and time force has the best orchestral music. I would actually buy the CDs for the soundtracks. Lightspeed's music is so heroic and triumphant. Time force has the good emotional tones
Hands down to this day zen-aku's flute haunts me to this day and i honestly love it, and the fact they change it to one of the best 6th rangers themes, mirroring the fact that the character are the sides of the coin, just perfect.
That's why we need to bring back individual character themes. It's little things like flipping the theme from haunting to heroic that really puts a smile on my face.
I agree that the stock music in the Disney era Power Rangers was bad but the fight scene music kicked so much ass especially Dino thunder The fighting T drones background music once again kicks so much ass

Idk much about how music is supposed to work in shows most of the time, but this was really helpful. You really highlighted the importance of motif’s for both characters and themes really well. I love the Disney Era personally, but this did help peak out some of the tiny flaws I had glanced over with in most of the seasons. I hope that future tracks can keep improving and reach the same level of work they put into theme songs from MMPR-RPM(Demo 1, not the original)
The only place that I think APM works for Power Rangers, is the transformation sequence, and megazord combinations music.

They did do one or two original songs. I don't think they did any for Ninja Storm. They're usually the ones that stand out. I guess the one point he made with Mystic Force is they attempted to cover some of the stock music with their own music, from time to time, but it's still in there. Dino Thunder, though, I'm pretty sure the guitar riff every time they morphed was the only non-stock, prepackaged background track in the entire season.
the thing that kills me in Dino Thunder his how the Dragon theme sounds like shit but the shot where Zeo Red is walking towards Tommy sounds fucking awesome.
I love the music that plays when odious brainwashes summer cove with the satellite , especially the music that plays when Redbot sees victor and Monty on the monitors .
15:00 I realize you’re mostly talking about the score, but there are some lyrical musical moments, I don’t really like them despite the fact that some if not most of them feature the character(s) not tone deaf… And even I wonder why I wish the current copyright holders would fund a Power Rangers musical adaption, how would I be able to sit through that if I feel the need to take my headphones off whenever there is a musical (lyrical) moment on the show?🤦🏼♀️
That sort of being said and no intentional offense to the actress (in spite of me not expecting what she said back in March 2019 not coming back to bite her where the sun don’t shine), but I really wish they would’ve had Kira Ford cover whatever Disney song in Dino thunder.
Power rangers shows definitely have weaker songs than the Sentai counterparts
I never really noticed the rewatchability issue until now. After thinking about it, I realized I generally only ever go back and rewatch In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, some team ups, and RPM. MMPR - Turbo rewatchability is just not there for me and all of the Disney seasons, with the exception of RPM, are just… boring after the first watch tbh. While the Neo-Saban era is just borderline unwatchable in general. So far Dino Fury does have a bit more rewatchability but no where nearly as much as the Post-Zordon/Pre-Disney seasons.

I think the music on the Megazord battles in Ninja Storm was a true highlight on all the series.
Except for a few themes, and the movies, I happen to love most of the music. I rewatch a lot of the series and it's the music that brings me back. Some more than others. It could be that I was a teen when it came out.

In my last two videos ( my channel ) i uploaded two no voice background songs from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it was ok, the thing is you still hear some noises in the background, but it's better than most of the songs edited with no voices that you hear from other videos.
I loved those tracks, but man... i wished Saban released the background songs, both Zordon and post Zordon Era ( the orchestra songs, they sounded so heroic and villainous at the same time, and i loved them too ). Well, actually the post Zordon Era background songs, the orchestra ones, already started with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, then continuing with the Turbo season through the rest of the seasons until Wild Force, the thing is you notice less orchestra in the Turbo season and more old fashioned Mighty Morphin / Zeo background songs. They started to use less and less Mighty Morphin / Zeo, and a little of Turbo, background songs in the middle of the In Space season in favour for the orchestra ones, though the In Space season had a few new rock background songs that were equally awesome.
In Time Force and Wild Force they added a few more cool beating tunes, specially in the first episodes of both seasons ( Time Force had one cool background song that imitated one of Matrix's background songs when the Time Force Rangers were " bullet timing ", or dodging the Cyclobots' blasters' fire in the first, or second, episode ), but that was it.
From the Disney Era i only liked SPD background songs, i don't know if Ron made them too, they're different, but there's something about them that i liked.
Not to mention the SPD morphing sequence theme that i once told in a UA-cam comment section that sounded like U2's Vertigo intro song.
Aaah... Also Dominic's morph theme to the Rhyno Ranger got back to the old orchestra background songs from the post Zordon Era, and i loved that bit.
Anyway, why Saban or Disney never released them?

@@mintbari Ultraman and Tsuburaya is more lax on the content distribution to the point whole series on still uploaded on UA-cam without their permission (somehow). And some series are officially distributed and live streamed on UA-cam! To me, I think Ultraman is pushing harder than Power Rangers because of their online distribution methods and the promotion of their blu-ray and DVD releases for every Ultraman show they can distribute. If only we can get most likely more popular Netflix releases.
Though I don't not know what happens when it comes to monetizing their content. I think Tsuburaya is the safest japanese company to do UA-cam content on from watching videos about Ultraman because of their openness for their property (sometimes too much so when it comes to strange license distribution). It's something that needs to have more research on, but the way the community speaks about Tsuburaya and Ultraman. I think Tsuburaya is the outlier in the Japanese company vs. online content field.

I think old Power Rangers Soundtracks do exist, but it's under Ron Wasserman. Where else would anyone have gotten longer versions of the Turbo & In Space theme songs that never once played in the shows or the one movie? It'd be amazing enough to have the skill to clean up the other insert songs with a home PC prior to 2005 & have it sound seamless, but you can't fake an additional two verses & a bridge that never existed.

*Spoilers ahead* but one of my favorite bits of Dino fury's soundtrack is at the end where Tarrick morphs one last time as Void knight and the music playing in the background is the void knight theme but this time more heroic, symbolizing his change to the good side. While the ost can be a tad bit repetitive in terms of overusing some of the rock/techno beats, I'd say it's an improvement over Beast morphers and some of neo saban's shows.
Wild Force still tops it though.
Man, this is making me wish we could get soundtracks of the In Space-Wild Force stuff (or all of it, but especially those). It's been so long I forgot or missed a lot of those cues.

I could never understand how they couldn’t synch up the dagger with the music. The fingers always were playing even during the last note, which was clearly held, and there was no beat. We’re talking six easy notes with easy playability but the character gave the same note the same count when you could have easily matched up the beat. Ugh. 14:13 like some kind of Black Panther, lol. I loved the cheesy costuming and posing. Classic.

In Disney's defense, PR was a show they didn't want but got stuck with after buying Fox Kids/Family. Seeing as they wanted to outright cancel it, it's no wonder they were cheap as hell when production continued. If only they'd known that the superhero genre was huge and they could've turned it into something big.

I think Mighty Morphin did well to build up tension with music in series 3. The battles with Master Vile and the Globber were really well scored IMO.
Power Rangers is built on rock and metal music, I think going away from that because it's supposedly not cool hasn't done the franchise any favours.
I do agree that using an orchestral score for the majority of situations would be a smart thing to do
Hey Idk if you ever might have heard of it but have you ever considered seeing anything like super sentai, or kamen rider or anything tokusatsu as they are basically the unlocalized ver of power rangers or basically the first or originals. Try something like kamen rider build, the first two episodes are on yt but the rest you have to find online
thats one thing i definitely hated about neo saban. yes disney era had alot of stock music but it still felt rewatchable because they tried to give at least some originality with what they had. neo saban just felt like nostalgia bait. and yes its a kids show but i agree that it dosent have to be obvious about it. thats what i loved about time force. it was a kids show but it felt like anyone could watch it and enjoy it. episodic shows can be good but power rangers dose better when its not episodic imo.
Absolutely. Episodic or not, I think they just need to treat he audience with some ounce of respect and not give us regurgitated MMPR. As for the music, yeah Disney wasn't perfect with its stock music but between seasons they tried to give each one a different sound. The Irish/Gaelic music of Mystic Force, militaristic SPD, kung-fu action movie music in Jungle Fury, etc. Noam Kaniel just gave everything the same sound from Samurai through Ninja Steel. These seasons have no musical identity.

Dude, there is so such thing as "too much rock" for me, I'm a sucker for hard rock and metal sounds. The hard rock BGM is MMPR is one of the reasons I love it so much.
Dino fury actually recycles Kamen rider zi-o tracks and either up or down pitches them, its bizzre, why does Hsbro have that music, unless they get Kamen rider with the deal and just dont use it.
