Thank you! I am not in the mood to heat a ham for hours. Grieving so bad over losing my mom in June. She was my best friend like a sister and now I’m alone only child. My 9 yr old loves the holidays so I’m going to try n cook a small meal. This is perfect!
Thank you! I usually drive 360 miles for family holidays , except this year I will be home . line at honey baked too long, bought ham at Target and gonna try this.
Thank you for this video. We have a fresh ham from a farm and I was struggling to find a video that let us know how long to cook it. Great video...best one I’ve seen for cooking a ham in an instant pot.
Best meal I ever had from a pressure cooker was steak with gravy....so tender it would melt in your mouth then mix the juices with a little flour salt and pepper for gravy .. then some mashed potatoes and maybe English peas..homemade biscuits..mmmmm can you tell I'm from Alabama !!!! Yum
Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!
Thanks for your video! I will using my instapot to cook my 5.3 lb uncooked, bone in ham for Thanksgiving. If you don't mind me asking should I cut the time down a bit since it's smaller than the ham you cooked in the video or should I keep it at 90 min. I as thinking 60 min. and then check it with my meat thermometer. Any advice is appreciated! Happy Thanksgiving!
I do a ham in my 8qt Ultra instant pot and had 9 pounds with bone in for 16 minutes and it over cooked it for Thanksgiving. It take like 25 minutes for my instant pot to build pressure and then it does the time and about 20 minutes to release. I'll try 4 minutes cause all it's doing is heating it up correct since it pre-cooked.
I have a 6qt instant pot lux and I wouldn't be able to fit a 13lb ham in it and I don't think a 6qt multiicooker would fit that size of ham in it either. You could always cut it in half and have some ready right away and have some ready later.
Thank you for the video. The best ham I’ve ever had was cooked in a pressure cooker. You might want to check into the toxicity of aluminum foil and it’s known health risks before using it again. They make large cooking forks that you can use to remove the ham.
Yes that is correct. When you hear the term quick release it means opening the valve right away. Naturally release can be any amount of time so in this case after the 15 minutes cook time you will need to wait another 10 mins to open the valve to release the pressure.
*Great Video - We have a Instant Pot too and absolutely love it!!! We have a really good Baby Back Rib Recipe using the Instant Pot!!! Give it a try if you have time!!!*
So many people don't realize a ham is fully cooked and you can slice it fresh out of the refrigerator and make sandwiches out of it. There is no need to ever heat it if you don't want to.
Interesting. Hams in Ireland are raw, so I will need significantly more cooking time. You obviously love sugar in the USA, so I will leave out most of that. Thanks for posting.
Is this just my family or is it not common knowledge to have a cookie sheet ready to put any kind of roast on when it comes out of a pot so you're not dripping mess all over your countertop and cutting board?

Just remember this ham is already cooked
Thanks for doing the video as I'm not much of a cook. I followed your instructions and it turned out the best ham I've ever eaten.
That's wonderful news. Thank you for letting me know.

Yes if it's small it cooks faster. Thank you so much for watching.
@@cookingwithalittlespice It turned out great! Fixed another one for New Years! Thanks again!
Thank you, Deary.
You’re welcome 😁
I didn’t have much faith in that foil but you proved me wrong.
Your ham looked so juicy. I enjoy your pressure cooking videos. Thanks for sharing. 😃✌️
I really appreciate you stopping by. Have a great weekend. Tell your kids I said hello.
Thank you, I am trying your recipe tonight.
Wonderful 🤗
Great Video😊💕
Have a Beautiful Day💖💙🧡💚❤️💖💙❤️💖💚
Thank you so much. Take care.
What do you do with the cooking juices after the ham is cooked?
Either throw it out or cook it down
I do a ham in my 8qt Ultra instant pot and had 9 pounds with bone in for 16 minutes and it over cooked it for Thanksgiving. the foil will release contaminants ? any better way to get the ham out with out using the foil ?
I use a sling now. You can find it in the description box under Links to my Amazon store.
@@cookingwithalittlespice Great Idea !! thanks you're the best, second to none ) !!
I should look into getting an instant pot. That looks amazing!
Oh yes you should. I love my instant pot.
Love the video I need a pressure cooker..
Thank you. It is wonderful to have.
It makes the best soups you have ever tasted! I'm making split pea w/ham today.
Hi I just bought a six quart instant pot lux and a six quart instant pot multicooker, which would be best for my 13 pound half spiral ham?
I have a 6qt instant pot lux and I wouldn't be able to fit a 13lb ham in it and I don't think a 6qt multiicooker would fit that size of ham in it either. You could always cut it in half and have some ready right away and have some ready later.

Can you place a frozen ham in the instant pot? Also if you can cook frozen what would be the time to set for a frozen ham?
Yes you can, frozen is usually double the time
I didn't see you add any water to create the steam needed to cook. No did you put the rack in to keep the ham above the water.
The pineapple juice is the liquid.
Listen to the video!!
And you dont always use or need the rack, depends on if you want your meat to sit in juice and cook or not.
i can eat a slice in that right now🥩🤗
I just question the 15 min time table.
What do you mean naturally released ? Like once that 8 mins is up just wait another 10 mins to open ?
Yes that is correct. When you hear the term quick release it means opening the valve right away. Naturally release can be any amount of time so in this case after the 15 minutes cook time you will need to wait another 10 mins to open the valve to release the pressure.
*Great Video - We have a Instant Pot too and absolutely love it!!! We have a really good Baby Back Rib Recipe using the Instant Pot!!! Give it a try if you have time!!!*
Yummy that sounds tasty. I'll have to check out your rib recipe.
Isnt that ham precooked? Dont you just need to sliced it and brown it
So many people don't realize a ham is fully cooked and you can slice it fresh out of the refrigerator and make sandwiches out of it. There is no need to ever heat it if you don't want to.
I hope it tasted better than it looked 😂
Did your ham get hot all the way through??
Yes it did
@@cookingwithalittlespice ok thanks❤❤
was this high or normal pressure?
Normal pressure
Thank you my love
For a fully cooked ham -15 min pressured, 10 min low… seems too long…
But looks great!
Interesting. Hams in Ireland are raw, so I will need significantly more cooking time. You obviously love sugar in the USA, so I will leave out most of that. Thanks for posting.

Pulled chicken in instant pot
Please do not use aluminium foil like that !!!
You just ruined the ham, pineapple yuck

Not a real pressure cooker
Lol... yes it is... just because it doesn't use fire and doesn't have an actual pressure gauge does not make it any less of a pressure cooker.
How many minutes per pound of raw ham
