    Pure Adrenaline! What a rush Cat ! I raced 8 ft hydros in the 70s and I miss it! Just like being in the cockpit but not beat up. If people only knew how athletic they are. You have to be in very good shape to do that. 6 minutes, equivalent to a 2 hour workout! Thank you!

    Awesome - Early 1970's dad made me an 8 ft hydro & put a 16 hp outboard on it & I thought that was amazing. This boat might have traumatized me with sensory overload.

      @@Smilecat75 We live in NM so no rivers to run boats on and a boat here is ridiculous.

    These boats always look a whisker away from an almighty crash! If not for the skill of the pilot!

    Does the front wing self-adjust based on boat's longitudinal angle, or the co-pilot controls it? Because without control it seems like this boat should flip back over when it jumps.

    It must be hard to pick your line at speeds like this. I only have about 400 horse , all I need for hunting. Yes indeed its a rush and more.

    Back in 97 I was racing here in NZ. B class at just on 90mph. In the day that was good. This is next level fast and that hull was handling the rough well. After doing that I lost interest in river boating in a family boat. I wonder if guys in NZ are using turbines?

      Yes lots of racers in NZ and Canada are running turbines.

    Awesome video! So, what is the role of the second person in the boat?

    I'm amazed those fun winglets really work

  • @situbes.972
    @situbes.972 6 років тому +1

    So how do winglets work (I am assuming it's for stability). Is it adjusted once and like a spoiler on race car in pits. Is it dynamically via a computer or pilot? If so which? (are angles of one side independent of the other - like an ailerons on airplane?)

      Simtube S . The Capt. or Navigator depending on boat set up can control the wings. They aren't independent from each other. They're used to create lift or downforce when needed. Trim them down to help the boat corner or in rough conditions, trim up to help the boat get onto plane faster and keep more of the boat out of the water creating less drag.

    Are the Canards position-able on the front of that craft?

    • @Smilecat75
      @Smilecat75  4 роки тому

      U can control them up and down when needed. Some boats can operate them independently from one another.

    So you use surface drive props. Would love to know how shallow the parts are you fly over.

      Ive been over some spots where I could see the rocks under the water. I've been in personal about 8in of water while racing.

      Riggins, Idaho is the closest town. there is a lot of camping to choose from, so I'd look for camping near Riggins and see what you like best.
