And why make it about Sapphire focusing on winning when the sentence was about how she could look at Ruby while running? I get that maybe they had to change that sentence slightly since baseball isn't a popular sport in Sweden, and Swedish kids might not understand what "running for home" means, but they could have changed it to "Don't worry, you can look at me when you run" and the meaning wouldn't have been lost

Actually, they can just wait until the next episode and show random clips here and there of everything happening and change certain voice lines, without having to show the original episode where everything changed. The GEM, the actual ROCK that is the source of their power, does not have a gender. Its an inanimate object. HOWEVER, the FORM that they take, does. Why else would they go by female pronouns? Why would Steven call Rose mom? Why would they have female builds, clothing, and voices? There is a difference from the gem itself and the physical form, y’all.

A lot of languages don't have a word that means "single" as in "not in a relationship" So it's translated to "alone" because the other option would have been to say "not in a relationship" and that's... It also makes sense to censor things depending on the culture. The age of consent is lower in other countries, so shows brought to the US will likely have those romantic and intimate scenes cut or edited (despite it being perfectly fine in the country of origin). Or the buddhist sign that is easily mistaken for a swastika. Many Asian films and cartoons have them, but they usually get cut in the US despite being completely innocent. Even simpler things. A korean cartoon about Korean history has the main character eating dog (back when lots of people did it). That would never fly in the US. It isnt necessarily wrong, but the audience would see it as bad. I think that it isnt so much the networks being bigots, so much as them knowing that certain things will have them being harassed by angry parents who just to conclusions about messages being taught. That being said, I think things would be better if we didnt edit anything. Lots of editing is useless anyway like avoiding showing fight contact or bleeping curse words (we all know what theyre saying anyway).

Rebecca Sugar herself makes no secret about characters like Ruby and Sapphire representing same sex relationships, and she's a wonderful human being for doing it. There's a difference between the in-universe logic of Steven Universe and what the characters represent and mean to actual real people.
I disagree. I feel like Cartoons are no longer exciting or have interesting plots because the creators/animators are only interested in squeezing as much romance and homosexual scenes into their episodes as they can. It's no longer about fun characters, or a good plot outlines, but about forcing romance and/or LGBT views onto children as much as they can. I mean look at "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy" that show lasted for over a decade and all it was about was the characters coming up with elaborate ways to get candy. that may not sound like an interesting plot idea, but it was SO popular it lasted for 11 YEARS, and that show barely had any romance if any at all. EVERYTHING about the newer cartoons are about random, off the wall craziness, romance and political correctness. These cartoons are meant to be watched by kids, yet these creators are shoving real world adult issues down their throats.

Something smart Rebecca did was in the episode that ruby and sapphire married. Some countries changed ruby's gender to male to make a heterosexual couple, so ruby was shown in the dress in that episode. Also to stop the episode being taken down, a huge part of the life was at the end of the episode.

When I introduced Steven universe to my 7 year old sister (who was 6 at the time) she LOVED the show. We both enjoy watching it together, and sadly we can't watch the other series because Netflix hasn't added the others. The GEM, the actual ROCK that is the source of their power, does not have a gender. Its an inanimate object.

Exactly. Things look violent with or without them. Personally I think the censorship or non-inclusion of physical impact just teaches kids to be blind to the effect that possible violent actions from them would have on others.
It also makes sense to censor things depending on the culture.
The age of consent is lower in other countries, so shows brought to the US will likely have those romantic and intimate scenes cut or edited (despite it being perfectly fine in the country of origin).
Or the buddhist sign that is easily mistaken for a swastika. Many Asian films and cartoons have them, but they usually get cut in the US despite being completely innocent.
Even simpler things. A korean cartoon about Korean history has the main character eating dog (back when lots of people did it). That would never fly in the US. It isnt necessarily wrong, but the audience would see it as bad.
I think that it isnt so much the networks being bigots, so much as them knowing that certain things will have them being harassed by angry parents who just to conclusions about messages being taught.
That being said, I think things would be better if we didnt edit anything. Lots of editing is useless anyway like avoiding showing fight contact or bleeping curse words (we all know what theyre saying anyway).

I think the reason why I fell in love with this show is that it actually showed same sex relation ships for a kids show as well as other important topics like body acceptance and just generally learning to understand those different from you. Some advice: Calm down, stop getting angry at people over this. Rebecca Sugar herself makes no secret about characters like Ruby and Sapphire representing same sex relationships, and she's a wonderful human being for doing it. There's a difference between the in-universe logic of Steven Universe and what the characters represent and mean to actual real people.

I feel like Cartoons are no longer exciting or have interesting plots because the creators/animators are only interested in squeezing as much romance and homosexual scenes into their episodes as they can. It's no longer about fun characters, or a good plot outlines, but about forcing romance and/or LGBT views onto children as much as they can.
I mean look at "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy" that show lasted for over a decade and all it was about was the characters coming up with elaborate ways to get candy. that may not sound like an interesting plot idea, but it was SO popular it lasted for 11 YEARS, and that show barely had any romance if any at all.
EVERYTHING about the newer cartoons are about random, off the wall craziness, romance and political correctness.
These cartoons are meant to be watched by kids, yet these creators are shoving real world adult issues down their throats.
You can tell when this guy was about to talk about homophobia he was inside like... “*sigh* okay ya’ll here’s what you already know is happening so better mention it now.”
Based on newer medical data. The Heimlich manoeuvre is considered dangerous and possible mortal, we do not teach it in first aid and schools anymore. We teach and are being taught to bow over and clap on the back.
That and a few things that simply can’t be understood in the language are the only ones I think that are right ;)

Something smart Rebecca did was in the episode that ruby and sapphire married. Some countries changed ruby's gender to male to make a heterosexual couple, so ruby was shown in the dress in that episode. Also to stop the episode being taken down, a huge part of the life was at the end of the episode.

Alright. Some of these edits make no sense but others are pretty expected for the regions that did them. Remember, Russia literally has a no gay propaganda law. No LGBT+ content of any kind can be distributed to children/minors. This includes sex ed information and media.

When I introduced Steven universe to my 7 year old sister (who was 6 at the time) she LOVED the show. We both enjoy watching it together, and sadly we can't watch the other series because Netflix hasn't added the others. But, anyway she knew straight away Ruby was a girl since garnet was a girl, she got confused why there was two girls kissing in jailbreak, but I explained to her girls can like eachother too and, she seemed fine with that.

I think the Heimlich censoring makes a bit of sense; yes it can save lives but if done incorrectly it can seriously damage or potentially kill and should only be done with proper training or at least more then just a seeing it on a cartoon. While I don’t think it should be censored, I can still see why they did it.
