Lapis is my favorite character. The story of someone so deeply damaged who transforms into someone who can learn to live freely is amazing. Everything she does is perfectly reminiscent of real people. Her struggle to take control after it was snatched away is classic psycology. It's not healthy and that's why she grows up and avoid that. I've never understood how anybody can hate her.
I've always loved her. I enjoyed watching her development as the show went on and this video does nothing but reenforces it. You know what; I would love to see her spend some time with Spinel. Not to play but to bond and hug it out, because they were both wrongly imprisoned for thousands of years.

I would like to compliment NerdWire on an outstanding approach to the addressing PTSD and anxiety in this video. Many fans of the Steven Universe series have compared Lapis Lazuli ‘s behavior similar to those with the two mental health conditions mentioned. There is lots of stigma surrounding mental health but NerdWire took the time to explain it to the watcher and showed how it could be a factor into the character design without discrediting the idea by fixating on it. It’s kind of nice to see people do their research on the topic, even if it is a fraction of a video. Especially to those who deal with it regularly.

Well Lapis is an example of someone who has been trapped in an abusive relationship. She's likely distancing herself from others before they can hurt or disappoint her. So when she shows up, she's nonchalant and kinda stoic because that gives her the control of how far their relationship goes. They cant cling to hard or push her away if she controls it. People who come out of abusive situations like that typically learn to stifle their emotions to better be the robot they feel they have to be to cope with the world. I want her and Peridot to fuse but I dont think it'll happen for a long while just because her only experience with it is wholly negative. She'll have to take a long time to realize that it's okay to relax and be herself again and that the people around her wont use or abuse her kindness.
@@Kokiri-Kid-07 she was never abusive toward steven while in a clear state of mind. once her gem was fixed and she knew he wasn't a threat in any way, she trusted him a bit easier. with peridot, she could have very well seen her as a threat. remember, peridot was a big reason she was imprisoned in jailbreak. she probably still associates her with that subconsciously. i have severe ptsd and i find myself drawn to lapis because i very much did do the same things she did. i was in the same situation she was in with jasper, and later the situation she was in with the crystal gems. i left my jasper, found my steven, and so on. but i still had a peridot, somebody who loved me who i loved but was unable to show it. i did very much care for this person, but i still abused them in ways that they never deserved, and my ptsd doesn't excuse that. the things i said and did were wrong. i distance myself from that person now, because as much as i do care for them, i know that i wronged them and need to give them space. i viewed lapis's distant greeting of peridot and immediate acceptance of steven's open affection as this: she would have accepted peridot's affection if it was offered, but because it wasn't, she felt that it wasn't welcome. she wasn't going to initiate a heartfelt greeting because she was unsure if peridot would even care for that.
Lapis is my favorite character, I can really relate to her cuz I've been emotionally mentally and physically absurd. I have a lot of depression and truama from people taking advantage of me, really bad a relationships and my family abusing me. I seriously know where she is coming from and its nice to know that there is a character on a popular tv that represents and makes these kinds of things aware.

Tbh i really like Lapis, the first time they introduced her i immediately suspected she’s goin to go through alot of growth. Aside from her tremendous power & excellent control due to her emotional growth throughout the series. Even tho her growth took a long while, it’s reasonable. Considering she got stuck inside a mirror for a 1000years, made the decision to imprison herself & jasper underneath the sea for idk how long. Most of the time choosing the road of being alone, because at some point of our lives, we have to go through it alone. After all that i’d understand she had a hard time trusting anyone other than Steven whom she owes to for setting herself free from the mirror. Spinel’s story although tragic as well, all the Diamonds were willing to grow along side with her. Their party needed to move on & grow from Pink. Lapis literally had...no one

She also didn't love herself as herself. Not as Pink Diamond, nor Rose Quartz. I mean I guess through Steven.. But I'd argue that's still a no. That's still wouldn't be as herself. Plus she gave Steven her gem. And its been confirmed that Steven is his own person, not another one of Pink's alter egos.

Funny thing is, Lapis is what made me watch SU in the first place. I saw a little bit of her first episode on a TV in a Macca's and her character design and powers made me want to keep watching.
lapis is my comfort character, im only 15 but ive experience a range of trauma and so seeing a character go through trauma and the way they grow and cope with it really helps me, she makes me so happy and i'm so grateful for this show
I’ve noticed that none of the crystal gems care too much for or try to get close to Lapis lazuli. Ruby particularly doesn’t care for her as we saw in jail break. It’s in stark contrast to the way they bond with Peridot. Garnet says that Steven is worried “for his friend” not their friend when she returns to the barn.
I love Lapis so much because she's been through so much and her mental health feels so realistic, because I hate when a character goes through something major, but then the optimistic main character gives a speech about "Yeah, you might think everything is bad, but actually, everything is great, you just have to get over it~" and then they're suddenly fixed. That's not how the real world works, and honestly it kind of undermines everything people with those problems have to go through everyday for years at a time. With Lapis, her problems and issues never just go away one day, they get better over time, but she still has relapses, and all that jazz.
I still want to see Lapis Lazuli and Peridot fuse together and here's why: for Peridot it would be the best answer for understanding Garnet and fusion as a whole, the good and the bad while giving her more of an insight for how Lapis feels. For Lapis, fusion would be as big a step as Pearl when she shapeshifter in 'Snow Day': it would show she was able to overcome a large traumatic event and show her acceptance and deeper trust for Peridot. With how she feels now it's the 'once bitten twice shy' kinda thing. Fusion would be a major step for both of them and I feel like Steven would end up being the reason, especially since it was because he made the effort and took the steps to help them without pressure or push. I wish Lapidot happened in the show. It’s the shipping that most likely could’ve happened. At the end of Barn Mates, we see a implication where Peridot gives a big smile to Lapis and in response Lapis blushes and turns away from Peridot. That was the moment where it made us think about them being a couple in the near future but unfortunately it didn’t happened. The reason why I wish they were in a couple is because it would’ve helped Lapis overcome her fears of being fused with Jasper and trapped being a prisoner as she says, giving her better character development. It would’ve helped more if Peridot was there when Steven toke Lapis to sea on the boat so that she could also make her feel comfortable, happy, and defend Lapis from Jasper which would’ve help strengthen their bond even further. I haven’t watched Future but I know there was a episode about Lapis and the other two L’s and Peridot was in it but from what I heard it wasn’t it anything TOO significant for the Lapidot shipping. Although it the shipping never happened in part 1 and 2 of the series ( Steven Universe and Future ) it’s still a big possibility for it to happen since gems can live for a very long time if not forever. Maybe in a couple of years later or in a millennia Peridot will finally begin to make her move on Lapis. If Sugar ever decide to make the shipping canon it’ll really make my life bright for a while. And if we ever see them fuse officially then I really wouldn’t know what to say other than, “YESSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS IT FINALLY HAPPENED YEESSEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WHHHEEEEWWWWWWW” Also Sugar can decide if she wants to make a little dlc mission in Unleash the Light where it’s about Lapidot. Just want us fans to be a little optimistic in case it happens but don’t have your expectations to high
LOVED THIS BUT Everyone forgets she was a prisoner to peridot and jasper. Peridot even says to her at one point that he knowledge of earth was so valuable, hence why she was their captive. Her actions to Jasper and Peridot are rooted in that trauma too
Raw gemstones really aren't that expensive...depends on the gemstone. Amethyst, I think, is one of the more common ones. It's the polished and cut stones that tend to be more pricey

@@JinxsyYT Sorry to revive an old comment. But. I understand Lapis's pain. It frustrates me to no end when people put most, if not all of the blame on Lapis. Jasper and Lapis were *both* in the wrong. They *both* hurt *each other*. There are times when both people in a relationship can be victims and abusers at the same time. No toxic relationship is the same as the other. Person A can be horrible to Person B. Or the other way around. Heck. They can both be bad. And on top of that. Everyone is effected differently by their trauma. Most often than not. People with trauma will likely have unhealthy coping mechanisms before they get better and get help. They aren't going to always be dainty, hurt, and emotionally/ mentally damaged people. They can get really angry and untrusting of the people around them. Especially if those people have done something to cause their trauma. For Lapis. She didn't like being around the crystal gems, because they imprisoned her for thousands of years, and used her knowledge about the diamonds and the Home World gems. Jasper and Peridot held her prisoner almost immediately after she was freed after several years. Jasper wanted to use Lapis to take down the Crystal Gems, and most definitely would have either poofed or shattered Lapis if she refused. Lapis didn't know if Peridot had really changed, so she was stand off-ish to her (at least at first). Not to mention. She probably thought that Periot was no better than Jasper, due to the fact that they worked together, and as previously mentioned. Held Lapis prisoner. Are Lapis's actions justified? *No.* But are they more understandable than we think? Yes, at least a little bit.

I tend to hate peridot when she was introduced, then grew to really like her character (I also hate green, so it was hard to like her design). On the other hand, I was very intrigued by lapis. I really like her design but she became a unrelatable character as episodes went by.
I absolutely adore Lapis because I really connect with her. I really like seeing characters who's pain is acknowledged and respected, and who are given the room and time to heal. as much as I love my parents, they really don't take my mental health seriously. I've fairly recently decided to just repress my feelings about my mental health because it's really unsafe for me to keep talking to my parents about them. I just love how much care and love Lapis is given, how Steven treats her in particular. I wish I had the support network Lapis has.

10:25 amethyst isn't a very expensive gem, of course it depends on the shape and size and whether it has been polished or not, but if it's just little pieces it should be relatively cheap
As much as I love Lapis, she's probably one of my least favorite gems. Not necessarily because of the show, but because of how a lot of the fandom treats her like she's completely innocent. Jasper is my favorite gem on the show, yet I can still say that she did some pretty crappy things. Anyway, I'm glad that this video doesn't go into the camp of making her blameless. She's a very realistic character when every quality of hers is acknowledged.

I like how Lapis is used as a metaphor/symbol of a person from an abusive relationship, but despise how people are like "Oh, she was being abused by Jasper" because to say that is to ignore that she in the show even blatantly stated she liked being Malachite, she liked abusing Jasper as well. If the fanbase admits that Lapis isn't a good person, and maybe Jasper isn't a good person either, then maybe the place would stop being so toxic.
When i first watched this show, i never paid really attention to the gem’s personality but i main focused in the show when i was a whole lot younger, now that i’m older (im in the young adult stage) I realized that these gems are all female and different for a reason. And Lapis Lazuli is the gem that i mostly relate to, i’ve been abused, stressed, have anxiety and feared of many things. I keep thinking running away will help but it doesn’t, it makes things worse. Now that i’m in therapy and such, i’m learning how to overcome those fears and break free from my box and try to make and understand other people and maybe, make new friends along the way.
I think my favourite part about Steven Universe is characters are very rarely punished longterm for making mistakes, and are always forgiven and given a chance, and tools to help. So many people I've know would write me off for accidental trauma responses or mistakes. They would treat me like I'm bad, but I was afraid and didn't know how to cope. And I don't blame them, but it can enforce the negative internal self talk when that happens a lot and you don't know how to fix yourself.
Lapis has always been the most relatable character to me. I had to go through a tough life as a kid and it only got worse, I was diagnosed with severe deppression and anxiety sometimes crying and not leaving my bedroom for day except to use the bathroom and drink tap water. I was sent to a ward after they saw blade marks when they walked in on me getting dressed and now I read and write everynight but the feeling is still there.
My favorite Crystal Gem, mostly because her experiences and the lines derived from them I myself can relate to my own situation. And she also has one of my favorite designs, she's truly adorable.
Hi :) I do not know if anyone mentionned this in a comment, but I found out that the lapis lazuli gem is also believed to be a stone that helps 'with difficult choices.' (I will have to check my sources again, sadly, because I read this a while ago) I think this is pretty interesting, given that Lapis definitely has difficulties choosing between staying on earth with her friends, or leaving, and being on her own. She also took the very hard choice to fuse with Jasper, which was certainly not an esay way to handle things. I just wanted to add this :)
Lapis Lazuli is one of my favorite character of Steven Universe she was the only one who wanted to be friended with Steven, Steven was the only one to change and to find herself on earth to called her this place as her home from out from Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst Lapis was the only one to listen to Steven and being patience with him, on the show of Same Old World Lapis was curious about life and how the world change their season, Lapis did run away because she's was afraid however she did come back because she's miss and care for Steven.

My FAVORITE thing about Lapis was her and jasper’s relationship. It was horrible and sad- but I love that they formed Malachite together because malachite is toxic in water, and they are a toxic relationship.it’s so stupid but it’s my absolute favorite thing about the show. Jasper and Lapis are some of my favorites characters from this show because of how deep they are. And honestly-their stories and backgrounds and mysteries are so much more interesting than the main characters stories, but I think that’s just cause the mc’s trauma is thrown in our faces. I've loved lapis all the way through even at her worst because I relate. I'm only officially diagnosed with depression and ADHD but I've been through trauma and exhibit a lot of symptoms of anxiety. I also have bad anger issues which were even worse as a kid. I often out burst at people who don't deserve it and hate myself for that. I also have a tendency to run away from my problems and only ever focus on the negatives. There's a lot of times where I just give up and stay in bed all day, even calling into work because the emotional toll is so exhausting, so especially episodes like can't go back really strike a cord and the fact that in the end she not only goes back but is stronger than everyone else withstanding blue diamonds attack, it reminds me that I'm not hopeless.

I've always loved her. I enjoyed watching her development as the show went on and this video does nothing but reenforces it. You know what; I would love to see her spend some time with Spinel. Not to play but to bond and hug it out, because they were both wrongly imprisoned for thousands of years.

I would like to compliment NerdWire on an outstanding approach to the addressing PTSD and anxiety in this video. Many fans of the Steven Universe series have compared Lapis Lazuli ‘s behavior similar to those with the two mental health conditions mentioned. There is lots of stigma surrounding mental health but NerdWire took the time to explain it to the watcher and showed how it could be a factor into the character design without discrediting the idea by fixating on it. It’s kind of nice to see people do their research on the topic, even if it is a fraction of a video. Especially to those who deal with it regularly.

I'm still disappointed that her reunion with peridot wasn't a bit more..... meaningful. Just a hey. But.... maybe it was meant to be that way and I'm missing some meaning behind it, who knows.
Well Lapis is an example of someone who has been trapped in an abusive relationship. She's likely distancing herself from others before they can hurt or disappoint her. So when she shows up, she's nonchalant and kinda stoic because that gives her the control of how far their relationship goes. They cant cling to hard or push her away if she controls it. People who come out of abusive situations like that typically learn to stifle their emotions to better be the robot they feel they have to be to cope with the world. I want her and Peridot to fuse but I dont think it'll happen for a long while just because her only experience with it is wholly negative. She'll have to take a long time to realize that it's okay to relax and be herself again and that the people around her wont use or abuse her kindness.

@@Kokiri-Kid-07 she was never abusive toward steven while in a clear state of mind. once her gem was fixed and she knew he wasn't a threat in any way, she trusted him a bit easier.
with peridot, she could have very well seen her as a threat. remember, peridot was a big reason she was imprisoned in jailbreak. she probably still associates her with that subconsciously.
i have severe ptsd and i find myself drawn to lapis because i very much did do the same things she did. i was in the same situation she was in with jasper, and later the situation she was in with the crystal gems.
i left my jasper, found my steven, and so on. but i still had a peridot, somebody who loved me who i loved but was unable to show it. i did very much care for this person, but i still abused them in ways that they never deserved, and my ptsd doesn't excuse that. the things i said and did were wrong.
i distance myself from that person now, because as much as i do care for them, i know that i wronged them and need to give them space.
i viewed lapis's distant greeting of peridot and immediate acceptance of steven's open affection as this:
she would have accepted peridot's affection if it was offered, but because it wasn't, she felt that it wasn't welcome. she wasn't going to initiate a heartfelt greeting because she was unsure if peridot would even care for that.

Lapis is my favorite character, I can really relate to her cuz I've been emotionally mentally and physically absurd. I have a lot of depression and truama from people taking advantage of me, really bad a relationships and my family abusing me. I seriously know where she is coming from and its nice to know that there is a character on a popular tv that represents and makes these kinds of things aware.

Tbh i really like Lapis, the first time they introduced her i immediately suspected she’s goin to go through alot of growth. Aside from her tremendous power & excellent control due to her emotional growth throughout the series.
Even tho her growth took a long while, it’s reasonable. Considering she got stuck inside a mirror for a 1000years, made the decision to imprison herself & jasper underneath the sea for idk how long.
Most of the time choosing the road of being alone, because at some point of our lives, we have to go through it alone. After all that i’d understand she had a hard time trusting anyone other than Steven whom she owes to for setting herself free from the mirror.
Spinel’s story although tragic as well, all the Diamonds were willing to grow along side with her. Their party needed to move on & grow from Pink. Lapis literally had...no one
Rose quartz in real life is supposed to be good for emotional healing, loving yourself, and recovering from trauma... and Rose Quartz in the show CAUSED emotional trauma XD
She also didn't love herself as herself. Not as Pink Diamond, nor Rose Quartz. I mean I guess through Steven.. But I'd argue that's still a no. That's still wouldn't be as herself. Plus she gave Steven her gem. And its been confirmed that Steven is his own person, not another one of Pink's alter egos.
Rose had low sense of self worth and so does Steven who shares his mother’s gem. The end credits song is about both of them struggling with their self worth.

Funny thing is, Lapis is what made me watch SU in the first place. I saw a little bit of her first episode on a TV in a Macca's and her character design and powers made me want to keep watching.
lapis is my comfort character, im only 15 but ive experience a range of trauma and so seeing a character go through trauma and the way they grow and cope with it really helps me, she makes me so happy and i'm so grateful for this show

I’ve noticed that none of the crystal gems care too much for or try to get close to Lapis lazuli. Ruby particularly doesn’t care for her as we saw in jail break. It’s in stark contrast to the way they bond with Peridot. Garnet says that Steven is worried “for his friend” not their friend when she returns to the barn.

I love Lapis so much because she's been through so much and her mental health feels so realistic, because I hate when a character goes through something major, but then the optimistic main character gives a speech about "Yeah, you might think everything is bad, but actually, everything is great, you just have to get over it~" and then they're suddenly fixed. That's not how the real world works, and honestly it kind of undermines everything people with those problems have to go through everyday for years at a time. With Lapis, her problems and issues never just go away one day, they get better over time, but she still has relapses, and all that jazz.
As spinel herself said: “You can’t make everything better by singing some stupid song!”

I still want to see Lapis Lazuli and Peridot fuse together and here's why: for Peridot it would be the best answer for understanding Garnet and fusion as a whole, the good and the bad while giving her more of an insight for how Lapis feels. For Lapis, fusion would be as big a step as Pearl when she shapeshifter in 'Snow Day': it would show she was able to overcome a large traumatic event and show her acceptance and deeper trust for Peridot. With how she feels now it's the 'once bitten twice shy' kinda thing. Fusion would be a major step for both of them and I feel like Steven would end up being the reason, especially since it was because he made the effort and took the steps to help them without pressure or push. Damn this comment is long.....sorry y'all

Lapidot is adorable and my life. I’d LOVE to have a lifelong partner who will watch cartoons and discuss theories with me
I wish Lapidot happened in the show. It’s the shipping that most likely could’ve happened. At the end of Barn Mates, we see a implication where Peridot gives a big smile to Lapis and in response Lapis blushes and turns away from Peridot. That was the moment where it made us think about them being a couple in the near future but unfortunately it didn’t happened. The reason why I wish they were in a couple is because it would’ve helped Lapis overcome her fears of being fused with Jasper and trapped being a prisoner as she says, giving her better character development. It would’ve helped more if Peridot was there when Steven toke Lapis to sea on the boat so that she could also make her feel comfortable, happy, and defend Lapis from Jasper which would’ve help strengthen their bond even further. I haven’t watched Future but I know there was a episode about Lapis and the other two L’s and Peridot was in it but from what I heard it wasn’t it anything TOO significant for the Lapidot shipping. Although it the shipping never happened in part 1 and 2 of the series ( Steven Universe and Future ) it’s still a big possibility for it to happen since gems can live for a very long time if not forever. Maybe in a couple of years later or in a millennia Peridot will finally begin to make her move on Lapis. If Sugar ever decide to make the shipping canon it’ll really make my life bright for a while. And if we ever see them fuse officially then I really wouldn’t know what to say other than, “YESSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS IT FINALLY HAPPENED YEESSEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS WHHHEEEEWWWWWWW” Also Sugar can decide if she wants to make a little dlc mission in Unleash the Light where it’s about Lapidot. Just want us fans to be a little optimistic in case it happens but don’t have your expectations to high

@@JinxsyYT Sorry to revive an old comment. But. I understand Lapis's pain. It frustrates me to no end when people put most, if not all of the blame on Lapis.
Jasper and Lapis were *both* in the wrong. They *both* hurt *each other*. There are times when both people in a relationship can be victims and abusers at the same time. No toxic relationship is the same as the other. Person A can be horrible to Person B. Or the other way around. Heck. They can both be bad.
And on top of that. Everyone is effected differently by their trauma. Most often than not. People with trauma will likely have unhealthy coping mechanisms before they get better and get help. They aren't going to always be dainty, hurt, and emotionally/ mentally damaged people. They can get really angry and untrusting of the people around them. Especially if those people have done something to cause their trauma.
For Lapis. She didn't like being around the crystal gems, because they imprisoned her for thousands of years, and used her knowledge about the diamonds and the Home World gems. Jasper and Peridot held her prisoner almost immediately after she was freed after several years. Jasper wanted to use Lapis to take down the Crystal Gems, and most definitely would have either poofed or shattered Lapis if she refused. Lapis didn't know if Peridot had really changed, so she was stand off-ish to her (at least at first). Not to mention. She probably thought that Periot was no better than Jasper, due to the fact that they worked together, and as previously mentioned. Held Lapis prisoner.
Are Lapis's actions justified? *No.* But are they more understandable than we think? Yes, at least a little bit.

I tend to hate peridot when she was introduced, then grew to really like her character (I also hate green, so it was hard to like her design). On the other hand, I was very intrigued by lapis. I really like her design but she became a unrelatable character as episodes went by.

I absolutely adore Lapis because I really connect with her. I really like seeing characters who's pain is acknowledged and respected, and who are given the room and time to heal. as much as I love my parents, they really don't take my mental health seriously. I've fairly recently decided to just repress my feelings about my mental health because it's really unsafe for me to keep talking to my parents about them. I just love how much care and love Lapis is given, how Steven treats her in particular. I wish I had the support network Lapis has.

As much as I love Lapis, she's probably one of my least favorite gems. Not necessarily because of the show, but because of how a lot of the fandom treats her like she's completely innocent.
Jasper is my favorite gem on the show, yet I can still say that she did some pretty crappy things.
Anyway, I'm glad that this video doesn't go into the camp of making her blameless. She's a very realistic character when every quality of hers is acknowledged.

I like how Lapis is used as a metaphor/symbol of a person from an abusive relationship, but despise how people are like "Oh, she was being abused by Jasper" because to say that is to ignore that she in the show even blatantly stated she liked being Malachite, she liked abusing Jasper as well. If the fanbase admits that Lapis isn't a good person, and maybe Jasper isn't a good person either, then maybe the place would stop being so toxic.

Steven Universe is the only best therapist i know
When i first watched this show, i never paid really attention to the gem’s personality but i main focused in the show when i was a whole lot younger, now that i’m older (im in the young adult stage) I realized that these gems are all female and different for a reason. And Lapis Lazuli is the gem that i mostly relate to, i’ve been abused, stressed, have anxiety and feared of many things. I keep thinking running away will help but it doesn’t, it makes things worse. Now that i’m in therapy and such, i’m learning how to overcome those fears and break free from my box and try to make and understand other people and maybe, make new friends along the way.
I think my favourite part about Steven Universe is characters are very rarely punished longterm for making mistakes, and are always forgiven and given a chance, and tools to help. So many people I've know would write me off for accidental trauma responses or mistakes. They would treat me like I'm bad, but I was afraid and didn't know how to cope. And I don't blame them, but it can enforce the negative internal self talk when that happens a lot and you don't know how to fix yourself.

Steven probably gets therapist of the year every year
Lapis has always been the most relatable character to me. I had to go through a tough life as a kid and it only got worse, I was diagnosed with severe deppression and anxiety sometimes crying and not leaving my bedroom for day except to use the bathroom and drink tap water. I was sent to a ward after they saw blade marks when they walked in on me getting dressed and now I read and write everynight but the feeling is still there.

My favorite Crystal Gem, mostly because her experiences and the lines derived from them I myself can relate to my own situation. And she also has one of my favorite designs, she's truly adorable.

I do not know if anyone mentionned this in a comment, but I found out that the lapis lazuli gem is also believed to be a stone that helps 'with difficult choices.' (I will have to check my sources again, sadly, because I read this a while ago)
I think this is pretty interesting, given that Lapis definitely has difficulties choosing between staying on earth with her friends, or leaving, and being on her own.
She also took the very hard choice to fuse with Jasper, which was certainly not an esay way to handle things.

Lapis Lazuli is one of my favorite character of Steven Universe she was the only one who wanted to be friended with Steven, Steven was the only one to change and to find herself on earth to called her this place as her home from out from Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst Lapis was the only one to listen to Steven and being patience with him, on the show of Same Old World Lapis was curious about life and how the world change their season, Lapis did run away because she's was afraid however she did come back because she's miss and care for Steven.

A pouch of little amethyst crystals cost about 5 to 9 dollars depending on if the amethyst were cut to be that small or if they were just that small to begin with.
Everytime I watch Steven universe.. I sometimes wonder if gems can be melted like metals.
Bismuth as a material can be melted and at a lower temperature than most, ironic considering she often bathes in molten lava.

My FAVORITE thing about Lapis was her and jasper’s relationship. It was horrible and sad- but I love that they formed Malachite together because malachite is toxic in water, and they are a toxic relationship.it’s so stupid but it’s my absolute favorite thing about the show. Jasper and Lapis are some of my favorites characters from this show because of how deep they are. And honestly-their stories and backgrounds and mysteries are so much more interesting than the main characters stories, but I think that’s just cause the mc’s trauma is thrown in our faces. Also when reading Lapis’s lines, you sounded like her
I've loved lapis all the way through even at her worst because I relate. I'm only officially diagnosed with depression and ADHD but I've been through trauma and exhibit a lot of symptoms of anxiety. I also have bad anger issues which were even worse as a kid. I often out burst at people who don't deserve it and hate myself for that. I also have a tendency to run away from my problems and only ever focus on the negatives. There's a lot of times where I just give up and stay in bed all day, even calling into work because the emotional toll is so exhausting, so especially episodes like can't go back really strike a cord and the fact that in the end she not only goes back but is stronger than everyone else withstanding blue diamonds attack, it reminds me that I'm not hopeless.
