El Capitan Cave - El Capitan Passage Prince of Wales Island, AK

June 18, 2023 - Our 2nd time temporarily anchoring near the USFS Dinghy Dock in 30'. Held well in moderate current. We visited the cave in 2021, but due to Covid, tours were cancelled, so only walked 50' into the cave. This year, we were unable to make a reservation by phone, but lucked out by showing up early at the trailhead for the 12 pm tour. The group was small so I was welcomed to join by 2 gracious FS Summer Guides who were Geology majors. They imparted lots of knowledge in the cave as well as the flora on the hike up and down. Very worthwhile! Thanks Courteney and Ellie!
