Good video man, straight to the important stuff congrats! I Have a 2018 2.7 And im surveying around which exhaust is best for my liking weighing in options, sound and price And most likely will go with MBRP Thanks Man, Ariel
hey jason, just want to say thanks for this great video. im looking for an exhaust for my 16 3.5 eco and i think this is the one im going with. as u said, no setup will sound like a v8 so i like the fact this isnt super loud but wakes up my eco both in sound a little and performance. i have the roush cold air intake now and combined with this, it should be a nice setup....thanks again man
I have this truck, decided against the little to no boost in performance by making it sound like a Honda. You know, Ford could make a lot of money if they'd just add a few outdoor Bose speakers near the stock exhaust, that pumps the awesome sound of a V8 when you hit the gas... This truck has the power, but that V8 sound will never be found in a V6. We got the cool turbo whine tho.
Actually.... spool time is greatly increased. which means quicker transitions of TQ when on and off throttle. Especially and low RPM/towing. I am not one of those sound nazis. as long as performance is better i will take any motor over another. the truck 5.0L is worse than the 3.5L any day. as is stands, it only really sounds weird when flooring it. 80% of my drive it sounds very good. Daily drive wise.
I don’t care for the loud V6 buzz sound, I do like the turbo whistle and a more efficient exhaust. So I install a MAK catless down pipe, SPD turbo adapters, SPD 3” mid pipe with their resonator welded to the stock muffler.
I am having this installed tomorrow on my 2016 XLT 3.5L ecoboost. Do you still have the truck; two and a half years later are you still having good performance and sound?
Install completed; it sounds good. Of course, it does not sound a V8, but definitely better than stock muffler. At highway cruising speed there is some drone, but I usually have the radio on so I don't really notice it anymore. The cat back kit itself was $414 US dollars, and I had a local custom shop do the install.
@@bryantelker9239 lol this dude said he sold the truck over a year ago in another comment but this comment was 10 months ago and he said it still sounds great. Sounds like a sponsored video to me
chris demchalk yes. Down low where spool time is important. No added peak power. Better tow power and accel from stock. I doubt any peak without a tune.
TheZappster99 all performance 2.0L run great with 3". This is a 3.5L with 4"... it is all about cfm. So calculating the cfm flow with 4" vs stock 2.5" vs the amount of flow at 400Whp coming out of the turbos needs to be as close as possible to matching. You do not want to constrict the exhaust. Like the stock exhaust does
I have a new 2017 f150 XL STX with the 3.5. You say it has Zero drone at highway speeds, but does it really because I hate to hear the drone. I had a magnaflow on a '15 f150 5.0 that I took off and sold. I put the factory back on without the resonator, and that was enough. Just asking again because not everybody hears drone the same. thanks for the video as I have been looking at this setup for my ecoboost.
ICE Viper you sound like you dont like sound at all while cruising. with the radio on just slightly, it pretty much covers the sound of the exhaust. I think you are getting drone confused with sound. drone is a resonant frequency that is louder than other points in the RPM range. of course it has more sound than stock when cruising
Heads up, wheelbase is on your door sticker. Lol. I just bought this as well...
good sounding ecoboosts are few and far between but this is one of the good ones.
Thanks For Watching!!!

you are welcome!
My 3.5 Hauls Ass stock. It’s quite and deadly
I never tune without an intercooler first. Plus i sold the truck

I have the same with dual... i love it
nice!
Try next to mount the SPD Turbo Flange Kit, there's 20HP to gain and in connection with the 4" MBRP it sounds even more AWESOME !
thanks
They don’t make turbo adapters for the 2.7, the stock 2.7 flanges are already about as big as the SPD ones unlike the 3.5 Eco Flanges
If you don’t have help you can wrap a piece of wire around it and anchor it to the sub frame
lol
Super nice sound 🤙🏼 I’ve been looking for something like this .
What model is the exhaust??
Mbrp
i’m getting this exact set up for my 2014 single cab tremor ecoboost. do you think i will have to cut the pipe for it to fit?
Depends if u have long bed or short bed and which cab you have

Why buy a V6 if you just whine about the way it sounds like a bitch.smh
Great video bro
thanks
I’ve got a tune and a intake on a 2018 I’m wanting to do to Exhaust
exhaust lowered my spool rpm by about 500 rpms
FatGuyBuilds so I just did exhaust and also took it off my truck lost power
FatGuyBuilds sorry for the late reply
@@marklamb8377 so you are saying you lost power with the exhaust?

Yes everything is still great

Bryan Telker how much did you pay for install getting ready to have this installed on my 2011 3.5 next week, thanks!

Will that pass 50 states inspection stations
Wayne Graves yes sir
Any drone?
no. very quite during cruising.
FatGuyBuilds awesome! Thanks for the response
Would you say there is any real HP gains?
chris demchalk yes. Down low where spool time is important. No added peak power. Better tow power and accel from stock. I doubt any peak without a tune.
Why does it need such a big exhaust diameter on a gas engine?. I'm assuming because of the turbos?

zero

Worst salesman ever!
butt02plug what you mean salesman? i am just trying to show the reality of what this exhaust is. i am not trying to sell or boycott this item.
