My dad would've loved to sit down with some Budweisers and talk to Dom. My dad served in the Marines just after Korea '53-'56 , he would tell me stories of the old vets that were back from Korea and the time he was inspected by none other than Chesty Puller at Camp Leujune. My Uncle (my dad's baby brother) served with the 1st Marines in Vietnam near Danang and unfortunately he was killed by a grenade in an ambush while on patrol in Quang Nam in April '68. Very strange story because he was killed on a late Sunday night and my mother woke up from a nightmare shaking uncontrollably that somebody was killed. She said it was real and could not go back to sleep. I kid you not. My father would break down in tears and goosebumps whenever he talked about it later on. He was a story teller just like Dom , I mean when i listen to Dom it feels like he's related to me.
Vietnam War Era Veterans Are my favorite crowd. Growing up around many of them in the Streets. Took me in out the cold and always looked out for me. I owe my life to 1
“Don’t talk about shit if you haven’t been there.” I try my hardest to live by that. I’m glad he has the same outlook. Because now people need to hear that. It seems people like to insert themselves into things they know nothing about yet try to tell others who have been there what to do.
Great words from a Vet. My Dad was at Nuremburg in the Air Force and He put Hitler Out of Business. Then He was in Korea. Never to Nam cause of Mom & Me cause I was just Born {1961}. He dreamt the War the rest of his life till 2008. I know what Dom meant.
Ive got to say this is one if the best clips so far... Ive seen the part towards the end that mentions how many chances do you get to go to war but seeing the conversation leading uoto that little soundbite is so fuckin interesting.... I really hope theirs a way of doing an extended directors cut of The Lynchpin Of Bensonhurst..... Without question my all time favourite mafia documentary. I think because im a musician and i see in him his pure love of music and his talent and later on his passion for his art is just very appealing to me plus his gift of storytelling and of course the stories of his wild life is what makes The Lynchpin Of Bensonhurst a cut above any other mafia related documentary... KEEP IT COMING!!!!
I remember when I enlisted having those very same thoughts Dominic had about being a warrior, but, in the back of my mind was that (factual) movie _Born On The 4th Of July_ ,and that guy was from the same place I am, and that scared me
Totally agree with the idea you can’t speak about something you haven’t done also something you’ve never studied, researched or spent considerable time looking at
It's crazy to me that I never ran into Dom in Brooklyn. I just heard he was living on 56th and 6th ave on one of these other shorts. That's my neighborhood, I was down the hill on the other side of the Church on 61st and 6th until we finally sold in 2015. We consider OLPH to be a part of Bay Ridge though, as it was originally...Sunset Park starts at the park as far as we were concerned like 48th/49th around there.
7:38 "Can you pass me the glue?" Or was it "Can you pass me the gun?" Either way, "As long as you maintain" is an suspicious response. "Wash the nozzle" Are we seriously watching as people are huffing glue?? And WHY am I the only one to catch that?
I hear ya. Im kickn myself over n over for not entering the service whn i was 18. I missed out. Left a lot of fellow americans hangin. Im sorry. And thank u for making the rite choice
I love this guy i hope im not that nieve at my older age .but i really want to like him,and feel bad for him . Not that he wants me to feel bad but this is how i feel
Jesus I’ve never really given this such deep thought. For those that have not seen combat this is for you. Think back to a time when you were the most scared in all your life. Now compare that with being an 18 year old kid basically right off the mothers teet and think about how you would feel if just a few short months ago you were standing on your HS football field during the big game. Now you are dropped off in some strange land, given a gun and hearing that Sargent saying that to you. I can’t even comprehend the fear that must be in those brave young men. There are people out there that will kill you. There is no safety. You can’t scream “Ok you hit me in the leg. I’ve had enough now”. Scary shit. The best way to treat a veteran, never make him one.
8:30 thats how it was yrs ago...u have to earn ur respect. Now kids expect e erything soon as the walk in the door and think they entitled. If u didnt talk to them for a whole hour or 2 theyd start crying and calln u crazy n this n that! Its genuine hilarious the way thede kids r now.
We used a lot of glue in the art studio , especially Dom and he was very particular about his glue getting clogged or fucked up . He made collages with it . Watch our film lynchpin of Bensonhurst on Amazon or tubi and you’ll see his art and how he created the work ..
@@jamesieboythe2nd you’ve taken ment al sickness to a new level. You insult me in the comments, then delete the insult, then later claim that it wasn’t an insult, but a stated fact. Thank you for your service Dom. A true American hero I don't care what he did after he served he was a hero.
When ur a kid growin up w ur uncle grooming u for the life you kinda dont have a chance. Nino brainwashed em
lol for real. People always "think" they'll react like a badasses when confronted with any situation until they are actually in it.
I haven’t even finished watching this video,
This is gotta be one of my favorites of favorite.
Dominick is so genuine.
Love these stories from Dom.
My favorite vids. Thanks alot and R.I.P Dom

Rip the man the myth the legend DOM
RIP Dominic a true warrior.
I remember when I enlisted having those very same thoughts Dominic had about being a warrior, but, in the back of my mind was that (factual) movie _Born On The 4th Of July_ ,and that guy was from the same place I am, and that scared me
Dominick seems so real, seems so brutally truthful.
He lived a full life truthful to himself.
He was the Man
Salute guys. Rip dom
His explanation of his first contact was spot on.
The man is as tough as they come.
Being in that shit over there is incredible.
God bless him and all the Vets.
Dom seemed to be a lot of fun to hang out with
I was disappointed to hear that Dom passed away. It's interesting to hear about his experience in Vietnam.
Lol.. with such grace and personable charisma, Dom can share the story about his first kill just like it was his first kiss!
I love listening to him.
Rest in peace sir.

He is so right don't talk about stuff you've never been a part of. RIP Dom wish you were still around to school some of these bums on UA-cam.

God Bless his soul.
What is it that Ross asks Dom to pass him and Dom says , as long as you maintain and remember to clean the nosle ? Anybody know , I'm very curious.
The coolist mob guy and a great soldiers and great story teller of life. .
How do you spell that seargent's name?
7:38 "Can you pass me the glue?" Or was it "Can you pass me the gun?"
Either way, "As long as you maintain" is an suspicious response. "Wash the nozzle"
Are we seriously watching as people are huffing glue??
And WHY am I the only one to catch that?
You're not. I noticed this too. Why are there no comments?! Literally everything else is covered except this. 😆
This shit is so real. Love it
what about his first kill outside of the War? Too bad we cant ask him anymore. What a wild life.
Did he ever talk about Joey Brocchini in these? In murder machine he brought this to light
Jeez never heard Dom say it 94 that’s rough
I hear ya. Im kickn myself over n over for not entering the service whn i was 18. I missed out. Left a lot of fellow americans hangin. Im sorry. And thank u for making the rite choice

Some things are better not being experienced, like war and heroin.
I mean he faught for our country #1 .his uncle nino forbidded him not to talk to his dad. Now he lives a lonely life
Wtf is up with the glue?
