- We tried sowing this paddock earlier in the year and it failed... too cold too wet. So now it's warming up, let's have another go! Hope you enjoy.

Great video thanks certainly not boring, love it🤠🇦🇺
Good stuff. Would like to see how you have mounted the sensors to the drill as I am setting one up and need ideas
Another great vid mate...thanks from The Bridge at Gundaroo. Just a note re the fuel and water contamination...six weeks ago the BT50 was towed off the Federal Hwy...locked down to water and algae contamination in the diesel (purchased hours earlier from a MAJOR retailer)...one new engine later (fortunately covered by insurance) but repairer tells me there are many similar incidents of fuel contamination in the region.
Interesting thanks Ross. Paying so much for fuel, you’d think it would be clean😕
Them dogs of yours are bloody rippas you look like ya luv em good for you fellas CHEERS
Busy day, you looked knackered. I can see the point of being judicious with your application - be awful if you put in 50Kilos+ & the drill tru a wobbly and all that seed got wasted. I see there's bad weather again to the NE, don't know if that's headed your way - hope not. Love your Kelpie, mine sends Kelpie talk! She says she thinks the Blue coating on the seed is to give it some protection & aid germination... Keep safe
Bit of bad weather coming this week I think😕 who doesn’t love a kelpie!😁 yep and to help the clover and lucerne in nitrogen fixation!
Interesting video. We are establishing a permanent pasture as well. Just sprayed to kill off the existing growth. Planting triticale this fall and then we will seed the pasture mix next spring/summer.
The seed is blue due to the innoculent on it that helps with germination (at least that's my guess)
Awesome as mate,IV done my shearing now,
Nice mate! Hope you had no trouble with the rain!
@@ourfarmlifeaus had no problem with the rain ,I had a 4 day window of good weather so that's good , grest wool all so I got off them
hey great video,
if my memory is correct the blue coating on the seed is something that birds and other seed eaters do not like the taste of to prevent the loss of seed sewn to birds
Also an inoculant to assist in nitrogen fixation!
Awesome vlog mate. Production quality is awesome. Assuming seed colour is blue from treatment? From memory, different companies use different colours but no specific inference other than it is treated.
Thanks very much mate. Yep treatment with an inoculant to assist the lucerne and clover in nitrogen fixation!
Great video like normal Lochie.
Not being a farmer, can I ask. You seemed to be seeding and fertilizing the same paddock.
I thought you's seed wait for germination and establishment before fertilizing maybe a month later?
As mentioned I'm not in any way a farmer..
Hi Mark, no we seed and fert all in one as this is a starter fertiliser, and it gives the plant a boost when its young. You can still come along and "top dress" with different fertiliser later on, often urea for crops or single super phosphate for pastures! You'll see a bit of urea going out in the next vid!
the seed is treated
Yep with an inoculant to help with nitrogen fixation in the lucerne and clover!
I'd be interested to know who you got your kelpies from.
Been watching a few of your other videos and it looks like they do a good job👍
Hi mate, no particular place or stud. One from Blayney (uni friend) but the rest are local or bred ourselves!
@@ourfarmlifeaus let us know if you ever have any pups for sale😁🤙
Why would you spray? its a big waste of man / machine hours and money,,,,,, simply re-seed if its going to pasture like this, works a dream.
Weeds will beat it mate. Then becomes an even bigger waste of money. Pastures are slow to establish.
