@JourdanRiane, I would recommend you get an IUD copper coil for contraception. It lasts for ten years. You can get it done at an NHS sexual health clinic for free. It has no side affects, but some women feel their cramps more and ger heavier periods in the first year or so of a new IUD inserted in them. I hardly had any issues with my first IUD, it was inside me for 9 years. My body has gotten comfortable with the IUD now and I am on my second IUD. It lasts for years. Oh and the copper IUD is the best form of contraception because it has no hormonal substances in it. It is simply metal wires and plastic. Once its inside you you cannot feel it at all. You won't break out in acne nor will you get the horrible symptoms. IUD copper coil is the best form of contraception in my opinion.
Just to add this: doesn't prevent stds, so keep using condoms.
I have had the Paragard copper IUD for...8 years I think. I will say that you can't assume that it's the best choice for everyone. The first year I bled constantly and my period pain went from being minimal to making me actually fall to the ground in pain. I kept it because I knew I wouldn't be covered under my mom's insurance forever and I wanted to have the most secure birth control method ensured. The spotting calmed down after a year and the pain is better but still not the same as when i was on hormonal birth control. I have had partners who have noticed it and partners who have not. The only person I've slept with before and after getting the IUD did notice (and asked me if I had gotten an IUD, I didn't tell him.) I still recommend it but it is good to know that it's not right for everyone.

Can you show the dettol that you use? I’m seeing a lot on Amazon that come in a pump and it says it’s for hand washing, and there’s one other one with a twist cap from Thailand, idk which one to get
Get the one with the cap, thats the full strength formula.

@jourdanRiane yea while growing up we were taught using the dettol,I have read from source about using antiseptic such as( dettol or Salvon) in your bath water, or to wash the gential area. Vagina is designed to keep its self clean, normally contains lactobacilli(good bacteria) which tend to keep vaginal infection free. Dettol will kill the good bacterial.
Avoid the use of soap .which isn't good

I love and agree with all your tips and I do everything you mentioned! However, your last tip about washing the vagina with water (douching) after using the restroom is defitinately a HUGE part of femenine hygeine I am a little disappointed that you think otherwise considering all the other amazing tips you suggested. YOU MUST wash your private area after using the restroom as dry tissue’s or even wipes are NOT enough to clean you! You will have small particles of faeces stuck around your private area (that will build up bacteria and leave you smelling and cause other complications). OF COURSE wipe with a tissue from front to back first and then wash with cold water to MAKE SURE you get rid of everything!! PUT YOUR HANDS IN THERE and WASH ALL OVER!
I have been doing this ever since I learnt how to use the restroom by myself and I can assure you that I have never had any issues. WATER does not harm your private area, it is definitely not overdoing it, it is basic hygeine.

She referring to putting water or water/vinegar mix up inside your vagina to wash out. OB/gyn say not to do this as it removes good bacteria and ph and causes excessive discharge, or infections like BV etc. But this isnt fully true either. Like everything in life there is a balance. Sometimes douche is necessary to rid vagina of infections with out taking manmade drugs etc. But some woman think its a good idea to douch on daily basis, typically after sex to " clean out the sperm" and this isnt healthy. Will only disrupt the natural balance and cause more problems.

Douching by putting water directly into your vagina (with a douche) could be problematic (I didn’t know that was the actual definition I thought it just meant washing your vagina with water) however washing the outside of your vagina with your hands after using the restroom with a watering can is necessary to wash out all the bacteria which comes from urine and faeces (those are definitely not good bacteria). Try it, it’ll change your life and your smell ♥️.

The condom broke that's why I used a plan b. Dr said if you're ovulating already, the plan b won't work
