This was fabulous! Thank you, Carl. I am converted. The top priority on my list for my move to Italy in 2024 is community. I am excited to visit this spring.
Thank you so much for this. I am currently trying to plan out where in Italy I want the second half of my life to be lived at. Mussomeli is now a contender, though Sicily is one of my top two regions in general. this was very informative and I felt everyone's passions as they spoke and it resonated with me deeply.
small villages and towns especially in southern Italy face immense challenges for continued survival especially when deaths outnumber births 2:1 in towns such as Mussomeli . 1 euro houses will not solve the problem, but possibly appealing to the artist communities, may help. Artist communities continue to have an impact in some of the poorest neighborhood in the US and around the world. Has Mussomeli made my list of possible places to retire in Italy, not yet, but at least now it's on the map.
Great video, Karl. I will be in Mussomeli on December 7 Through the 17th with my son, To see the property I bought already sight unseen Via an agents video. We will be also sightseeing. Maybe we will bump into you, cheers, Bobbie
90 births against 150-160 elder deaths a year of a city of 10,000 is something...I like the sincerity of the Mayor and his intentions for his city though. Thanks for sharing this great piece of information, Karl. Keep up the good work Bro!
Thank you Karl for making this :) Just came back from 2 weeks in Sicily,,and im missing it already deep in my soul,,I dream to live there,, so plans are forming in my mind :) I will follow this channel for more inspiration,, I was in Alcamo Marina ,i borrowed a house there ,,I am in Love with Sicily,, I want to live there,, some how,,But for people who have "low money" i dont find much videos,, Can you make a video about renting maybe ,,How is the market for that ? :) Much Love from a Great Dane 🥰
Thank you for the answer. :) Denmark and Italy is part of eu i dont see it should be a problem.. but we will see.. Do you know any good pages to look for rentals ? :Have a great day :)
Hi Karl, Just found you tonight and really enjoyed your videos. My wife Irene who was born in Italy arer coming to Italy for the month of May. We are a working cuople living in Canada who are retiring in 2 to 3 years when our work project is finished. We are looking at retiring in Italy and are starting to look for a place to purchase. We will be touring around Sicily and Puglia areas visiting and staying in Airbnb's. Would love to meet up with you if that is possible. We are renting a car for the month.
@@Karl__Pierre I saw your Spain vs Italy channel. As a coastline lover, there's no better place in all of Europe with more picturesque coastlines than Italy.
When scrolling and viewing properties in Italy make sure you do your due diligence. Longterm leases are costly in Italy. Can you drive a stick on a hill with a Vespa behind you? The vast majority of properties that are prewar have no AC. You will need a place with a minimum of five standard windows with cross ventilation. Ground floor units are a hard sell; so are top floors with dormers. Stay away from G level energy units. Rural and hilltop towns are cheaper but what about bus service. Many only have runs in the morning and afternoon for school. No Conad Despar, Coop or other major chain. Many towns just have a mini mart type of store. Are you willing to carry your items up a hill? Think you have experienced bad customer service? It is an art form in Italia. Paperwork and bureaucracy are high art. The lack of technology at the retail and government level is surprising. The best buys are in Umbria, Salento, Veneto and Molise. Calabria and Sicily have high rates of poverty. Call realtors. They rarely respond to emails.
Karl and Chris this is very good. I just booked my ticket from Lisbon to Naples. Got my car. I want to see as much as possible. I have my paper map, rental car, am researching and am on my way. I sent Karl an email. Information is highest on my list. Counting down...Gina in Upstate New York restoring a property getting ready to finish and sell and move. I began a UA-cam Channel for my renovations so I could share my winter trip to Portugal and Italy. Very excitng times. Cheers. GIna
Hi, i live in South Africa i want to sale my house and move to Italy how i can get my citizen. can the Mayer help as with that. i want to take that risk but i don't want to lose everything, specially we are old my husband 63 and I'm 50 years old no kids. Regarding the retiree visa, our conditions are not met, and this is due to the low value of the currency in South Africa. please advise.
The mayor of an Italian town typically doesn't have the authority to grant citizenship but might be able to assist with local advice once you're in Italy. Given the complexities, consulting an immigration expert or lawyer who specializes in Italian immigration can provide personalized advice and help you navigate the process.
Now if only the purchase of a home came with a visa , us citizens can only stay for 90 days every 6 months so you can’t even stay in the home you bought !
Fantastic video Karl! So inspiring ❤ and the production was great. We have been wanting to check out Mussomeli since we heard about it from Dav0 a few years back, and now you have reignited our curiosity. Can't wait to make our way down from Molise 🛵

Great video Karl, you opened my eyes to Italy a year ago & I’m preparing to visit in April. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Exceptional video; both informational and motivational. I've never seen a location presented this way. Nice to see Chris on there!
One of the formats we are exploring for a show.

Excellent and informative video
Glad you liked it
Great content as usual. Definitely need to get there as a big fan of pistachio gelato, pizza and pasta.
You should!
Love this video. It wants to move to Italy sooner than later.
What's your timeline?
To be realistic. In the next year or two.

You can find rents as low as $200-$300/month. I think the greatest challenge will be a long term visa

@@AlienSpaceAngel email italy@entplife.com I know a few agents. But if you're considering Mussomeli I think it's a good low cost option.
@@Karl__Pierre I'm also from 🇩🇰 interested in rental within that price range. Do you know any agents offering studios in Trapani area?
