Good information. Do you speak or understand Italian? I have a working understanding of French (it’s been 30 years since college minor) I understand a little Italian and it seems like the people may be more patient with those eager to learn quickly. Their culture and language is so important to them and perhaps they are encouraging the preservation of it and their beautiful language. After all, Rome and the other cities were melting pots of all kinds of people from far and wide. I love the idea of diversity of people revitalizing and caretaking these treasures. I would like to see the buildings be renovated as closely to the original as possible. But those materials may be hard to find or too expensive to be practical. Looking to retire in a few years and Italy would be nice. We spend 3 months there 20 years ago and could see living there 6 months out of the year, perhaps lending my skills to help the locals stay in place.
How was it dealing with contractors in italy? I presume you found an English speaker? And if at all possible (privately is fine) what was the refurbishment cost approximately. Thanks and great content!
Restaurants, bars, sail, beach, amusement park, people. It's also 30 minutes from the capital and Palermo Airport so you can literally get anywhere quick and cheap. I wouldn't worry about boredom here.
I am looking forward to buy a house there and start an AirBnb bussiness like short term styaings and eventually to buy a second house and just to do real estate bussiness in Italy and i think now its the right time because if the 1 € home programm.🎉
Italy definitely has interesting prospects. Still trying to figure out your secret with moving to Spain. I tried talking to tax advisors and everything and just can’t figure out how to avoid that massive tax on foreign income. Really wanted to move to Spain but guess I’m gonna have to settle for Greece :D

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowhowho most important thing is to find someone who accepts who you really are and you the same. There has to be mutual respect, values, and goals. Find someone who is ok with how you choose to live and has the qualities you want and need. For example someone who is highly organized and doesn't mind your choas. Someone that can take your ideas and is consistent to support them.

Yup that's how I think measure, if I have meters on my plans I have to constantly recalculate.
