BMW E46 325xi 330xi Front Suspension Refresh 02-05 3 Series AWD

Today the bois and I refresh the front suspension of Seabass's 325xi. We had a blast. Front struts, coil springs, control arms, control arm bushings.. etc.

Good video bro, really enjoyed seeing you and the boys having fun. Also would you know if the xi front subframe bolts up into a non xi e46 or is modification required and is the rear subframe the same? Also is the sump on an xi engine the same as the sump on an X3?

Hey, man! Okay so you need the rear mount points for front subframe, which should bolt to RWD body, as I believe the holes are there, just capped. The rear subframes are the same, different part numbers only because there's a spot for a vibration damper to bolt on, that RWD doesn't use. The oil pan of an xi E46 looked identical to X3 judging by the last one I removed, front diff casings are the same, so I'd assume so. E46 xi also has a wider transmission tunnel when compared to RWD.

@@OLearysBMW thanks for getting back Tyler, that's useful info I hadn't considered the trans tunnel width. I wonder if the X3 one is usable and I could grind the spot welds and remove it.
