I’m not a cobbler and I don’t expect I’ll ever work on a pair of shoes however, I find the work you do fascinating. Your craftsmanship is outstanding. If people get triggered by your videos, they should go watch a cake getting frosted.

If people find the prices too steep, well nobody forces you to have it repaired by Steve, but from what I see, he does more than he should do. If someone delivers quality that will take you much longer in order to repair again then it's worth it. If I had shoes that cost me 100 dollar and they would end up crap after a year then I wouldn't repair them. If they cost me 300+ and I wore them 4 years I would do it. My shoes end up dead after 2 years max, because I walk a lot and I walk fast so more wear and tear. I can appreciate someone talents and it takes years to become this good , it goes for any trade, people want great service and excellent job for zilch. If you want to be cheap, just diy.

Cudos to the patron who knew who would do these boots justice. These stand out and are ALL BECAUSE OF YOU. These are steam punk on classy steroids, and I'm 62 next month. Bravo

I have to admit I wondered how your poor finger got smashed and I thought, I bet that hurt bad. I was picking my brain to come up with what some viewer might have had a problem with, oh well it takes all kinds. Keep up the videoing you crack me up 😆 I love it. I needed the break from what’s going on here in the US.
I’ve watched another cobbler out of the USA and nowhere the attention to detail you have. Your cork goes out to the edge so the wearer doesn’t feel that gape with their little toe, you cut for the toe plate before you stitch the leather sole on, you use a shoe tree to help smooth the badly wrinkled worn leather might have a reset, and before you adhere a rubber piece to the shoe you don’t tear up the leather sole underneath. All of your attention to detail sets you heels and toes above the rest and your price truly is equal to your quality work.

wish i could learn this kind of work to make it worth acquiring the tools and equipment. I've tried every cobbler/shoe repair place in the area, noone is hiring or could afford any help. So here I sit just conditioning and shining my allen edmonds thrift finds for sale on ebay, with an occasional scratch repair. Being able to re-welt some boots like these would be really awesome.

Sharp looking boots! So the unassuming "office" guy on Friday, wearing his stock Allen Edmunds, turns up on Monday wearing his quasi-Commando, door kicking, grenade tossing, jungle trotting, desert patrolling, mountain scaling, urban assaulting Allen Edmunds "Bedo Special Operations" version F2s, transforming him into The BadA$$ Office Alpha-Male. The cost of this work? PRICELESS.
Was surprised sanding the toe didn't damage the leather. Good work.

Steve - I enjoy watching your videos. You are a true professional in your craft. It is nice of you to discuss how much you charge for each job that you do. You shouldn’t be concerned with those who say you charge too much. This is a niche market and not everyone is going to look to get shoes repaired. In life, not everything revolves around money. I understand that many pieces have sentimental value to the owner and perhaps have been part of many happy memories. Please stay true to yourself - everyone has something to say. We all know that there isn’t 1 person that can please everyone. Looking forward to many more videos.

The craftsmanship and quality of the work is top notch. I like the look of the original welt and the dark color of the original sole and edge dressing. It gives the boot a more dressier look. On the other hand, the split welt and lighter edge dressing gives the boot a more every day casual look.

As for your prices, if people are willing to pay for great craftsmanship, you can charge for quality work. My mind goes back to the lady almost in tears with her “new” slippers. She had an obvious emotional attachment to the memory of what it meant to get them back like new.

Hell, do a video on that coffee... What kind is it? And... Is that how you "brew" it?? Never seen a coffee set up like that.
And those are some good looking boots! Shell in that color is stunning! They looked great with those lugs... Allen Edmonds would be crazy not to see what you did, and think they wouldn't be able to sell them exactly like that.

Beautiful work Steve. Ignore the haters. The down votes are likely from people who can't tie shoes and are triggered by shoe laces.
