Only thing that I didn't like was the voice of Apocalypse. The original was so iconic. This one felt generic to me.

@@Scarran I mean, he only had one line at the end, so it's not like it was a lot to judge? I mean, I do agree that the original Apocalypse, voiced by the iconic John Colicos (RIP), was immaculate and really gave a sense of weight and presence to Apocalypse, but nevertheless, I still liked the new voice and honestly couldn't tell the difference when I first heard it. Im sure in the next season, the new voice actor for Apocalypse in Season 2 is going to do just as much of a great job as John Colicos did

The way Sheera made a callback to the "minds are harder to bend" line, as Bastion is refusing to change his ways till the very end, it made me appreciate the writing even more.
Minds are harder to bend than METAL. I didn't pick up that either.
Marvel really decided to drop the one of the greatest revivals of all time. Easily one of the best X-Men anything in years.
IKR, I think I adore this more then most of the live action X-Men movies.

@@hamhockbeans Inhumans are cool too but they felt lacking due to being so tied to the whole royal family thing. Mutant are different, sure there are bloodlines but basically anyone can become a big figure with awesome powers in X-Men. Which makes it a much better story for a lot of real world things. Not just this royal Family soap opera. You can grab a random kid off the street and make them a superhero full of struggles.

Their sisterhood was on full display and I loved that. The old show never emphasized that as much and it was always in the comics. The same with Cable, they humanized him! He wasn't just the one-dimensional, broody, militiaman... You could see him as a person now. The writing did all these characters justice!
That conversation between Cable, Scott and Jean is lowkey underrated, it got me in my feels hard. I didn't even realize Scott was crying before he started blasting the ship after their conversation finished.
The visor off blast and his increasesing his blast power against Bastion were the most badass I've ever seen Cyclops. This season has made me love the character and gain an interest in him comic wise

Explanation of how they're breathing. The place Rogue knocked Bastian onto the moon was the "Blue Area" of the moon. An Apocalypse base, which has breathable air. As for Jubilee, Beau DeMayo said that it was because she was in the atmosphere of Earth, and Sunspot kept her warm. Then they went off back to Earth which is why they were watching when Asteroid M vanished. Hope that helps.

DeMayo actually confirmed that Morph was confessing their love for Logan, not just pretending to be Jean. They've been dropping pretty obvious hints all season
I'm going to miss getting background notes on what to look up before an episode and those kind of hard confirmations, this was a unique season for the show and I hope they keep the same energy going forward but there's no way Marvel is going to have those types of interaction with fans for the following seasons.

When Rogue absorbed most of Ms Marvel Carol Danvers abilities an psyche, she absorbed her alien physiology too, so shes able to breathe through space
And she was on the blue side of the moon which does have some atmosphere
That's actually not the reason why, at this point in time Ms. Marvel couldn't survive in space for long periods of time so Rouge doesn't have that power, the real reason they're able to breathe is because they're in a section of the moon called the blue side of the moon which has a breathable atmosphere and it's where the inhumans used to live hence the statues and buildings you see in the area.

@emmanuelu Ms. Marvel could breathe in space b4 Rogue took her powers & Ms. Marvels power are the result of an explosion of a machine that blew up in close proximity to her when she was just a regular human. An Kree alien named Mar-Vell jumped in front of her to shield her from the blast, but some of the radiation from the blast passed through him, like an x-ray machine, & infused his superhuman genetics with her human genetics altering them & making her a human/kree alien hybrid. In effect, she got his abilities but at a greater level. And since he could breathe in space, she gained that ability as well.
HOWEVER, she didn't gain the ability to fly until later. At 1st, she had to wear a uniform with a belt that allowed her to "fly" along the Earth's magnetic 🧲 lines. Then she was involved in another explosion with a machine (don't know if it was the same 1 that initially gave her her powers) & the radiation from this explosion infused the gravity defying properties of the belt into her DNA, thereby giving her the ability to fly by sheer will. When Rogue absorbed her powers, she gained ALL of these abilities. But that's how Rogue can breathe in space cuz she, via the power transfer, absorbed Carol's hybrid DNA that allowed HER to breathe in space unaided.
I would adore if they keep showing us the. ‘97 universe! There’s sooo many heroes we never got to see until this episode!!!

i'm glad we're getting an origin story of apocalypse in season 2 and I hope we see more on how Nathan/Cable grew up in the future.
This series redeemed Scott, humbled Logan, Made Magneto my hero Prof X the worse and gave Bastion some of the colds bars. 10/10

Looks like in the next season, we’re getting the past, present, and future storyline, and it’s about to go down. Also hinted at Gambit becoming a horseman of Apocalypse. This show is just too amazing.

All the plot lines we got at the end were awesome......but I'm most interested in where Strom, Wolverine and Morph are. Didn't see them at all in any of the time points shown

Good news. Season 2, 3 and 4 have been confirmed for X-Men 97. They're almost done with Season 2 and already started working on Season 3. We're probably getting Season 2 next year. It took them 1 year to make the first season. Also it looks like in Season 2, the main villain is gonna be Apocalypse, which means we're gonna get The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse and they're definitely gonna be Gambit as Death, Wolverine as War, Rogue as Famine and probably Omega Red as Pestilence, and we might also get Onslaught, which is basically an evil entity inside of Professor X mind made from Professor X sadness combined with the trauma of Magento that has the powers of both Magneto and Professor X. In the comics it took The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The X-Men and Doctor Doom to defeat Onslaught. Not to mention Apocalypse fought Onslaught and bro got bullied by Onslaught.
They were fighting on the "Blue Area" of the moon which is normally the Watcher's home, but was also used during the initial Phoenix arc. It has a breathable atmosphere in that blue area.
Magneto lived a life where being different was always met with persecution and hate. Holocaust survivor and always being hated for being a mutant. After years and years of his on going moral and intellectual battles with Charles, he finally gives Charles side and way of thinking a chance. He genuinely tries his best to stick to how Charles wanted things to be. Even with that he was shown that no matter what, humans and mutants will always be on opposite sides. So after being shown time and time again that he’ll always be “hated”, can you really blame him for his actions??? That’s what makes Magneto such an amazing and complicated hero/villain in Marvel. To me he’ll forever be the best character and most interesting character in the X-Men
Magneto and Xavier didn't meet as kids. Xavier was in America and Magneto was in Germany in a concentration camp

To be fair, it still took most of the other episodes in the series to bring us to this one. So, it's more than just 1 episode. That being said, I was already won over by Episode 2. And then Episode 5 upped it. That got upped by this 3-part series finale.
I'll be honest, I'm genuinely surprised with how awesome this ended up being. This was like a season of the X mens greatest hits.
After this masterpiece, I want a Spider-Man animated series revival, an Avengers, Fantastic Four, and definitely Daredevil, heck we need a whole expansion on this universe it’s so much to explore💯

The reason Cable's arm is an upgrade for Bastion is that it's made of the technoorganic virus which I believe is why he is regenerating so quickly after his power up.

I loved seeing all these different superhero cameos like Iron man, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and even Omega Red. Really helps show that this doesn't just effect Mutants but humanity in general.
Plus all of them had appeared in X-Men or Spider-man in the 90s. Hell, Iron Man had it's own, boring, show.
Doctor Strange looked a bit differently, now he is heavily inspired by the movies.

What a phenomenal season of Marvel Television! This season, finale was absolutely incredible, and it really had it all! Great writing, jaw-dropping animation, masterful music, amazing voice acting performances, brilliant pacing, respect for the original source material/90s animated series, and lots of fun/really cool Cameos and Easter Eggs for the fans to enjoy! I'm so excited/hyped for Season 2 and will be counting down the days! This finale and the whole season get a 100/10 from me!

I'm sure someone already said, but the part of the moon Rogue and Bastion fought on is called the Blue Area. It's got oxygen. In the original series, the X-Men fight the Shi'ar Imperial Guard there. (Their leader is Centurion, the superman-like guy with the mohawk from Xavier's episode.) As far as Jubilee breathing though...I don't know.
They aren’t in the vacuum of space; they were in the artificial atmosphere of the blue area of the moon which is where Uatu actually lives, and the artificial atmosphere around asteroid M. Apocalypse and the Inhumans have also lived in the blue area of the moon which is why you saw that face Lupa.
In the comics Scott and Jean actually do get flung into the future and end up raising cable at one point under the names red and slim .

2. Jubilee was not pulled out into space. The asteroid was already falling and in the Earth's atmosphere when she was pulled out.

Rogue can't breathe in space, but she can hold her breath and survive for short periods. She crashed Bastion into The Blue Area of the Moon, where there is oxygen, and they fought the Imperial Guard. The area where The Watcher hangs out.

I love how they did this show, it was phenomenal, and I never say a show is perfect, but this was as perfect as I could ever see a show being. Amazing stuff.
Scott and Jean ended up in the year 3960 AD, which is 1,963 years in the future from the year the show is set in, 1997. The first issue of the X-Men was released in 1963.

Apparently they are supposed to be near the upper atmosphere where they still have air and where gravity can still affect them. I think.
This series and Frieren are my top 2 animated stuff this year.
Also in some continuity the watcher and his base is located on the moon, where he just watches over earth kinda like kami from db/dbz, but no interaction (he also has a locker full of items/weapons, so if you find him and said base and say so we can just take these right? The watcher will just answer "i can only watch" (this was in one of the animated avengers show i believe)
Seeing all the cameos is pretty nice, because it aknowledges the TV animated canon that most people forget. Spider-Man, Xmen, the Iron Man and Hulk show were all in the same continuity.
5:08 Cloak and Dagger are a superhero duo that even got a live action show on Hulu Freeform that only lasted 2 seasons. Cloak “Tyrone Johnson” can manipulate darkforce turning his body into a void to the darforce dimension being able to teleport himself and large groups of people to and from the dimension and redirect attacks. Dagger “Tandy Bowen” can manipulate lightforce into light daggers she can use as projectiles, and can use lightforce to heal and purify others of addictions, sickness, and mental state.
Rogue was in the blue area of the moon which has air and that's why Rogue's thunderclap even work since you need air for that.
Magneto was a nurse during the holocaust and Charles was a therapist more or less in a the same clinic as magneto..they met there...they were never childhood friends your thinking of juggernaut..and they were in space because the skrulls used to colonize the moon and made a blue area which is oxygen rich..lol hope this helps..

That particular portion of the moon has an atmosphere because of something that happened in the original X-Men series I forgot exactly what it was but also on top of that she did technically take the powers of Captain marvel so essentially she could breathe in space

So Rogue’s powers of flight and super strength come from having totally absorbed Carol Danver’s powers in the past. This extends to her ability to be in space. They were also fighting on the “Blue Side of the Moon,” which is the remnants of an ancient civilization that also has an atmosphere.
Cable's time cube is housed in his techno arm and Bastion absorbed it. Bastion was able to use the time slide when he was fighting Rouge, it is the same power projection that shown when asteroid M vanished. Bastion sent the xmen to those time, he's not dead yet.

The Watcher, Apocalypse ( which was the face you saw), and the Inhumans all make their home there or did at one time. It has gravity and oxygen. The blue area of the moon has breathable air. This was where the X-men challenged the Shi'ar imeperial guard to trial by combat for Jean's life when they rightfully wanted her dead for the Phoenix killing an entire planet. In the comics, The Eternals lived there for a while. That's also where The Watcher actually lives.
As to the atmosphere question. Asteroid M has a zone of atmosphere around it for i think 1 mile or something.

It has atmosphere and was the place in the original series where the X-Men fought the Imperial Guard and Jean when Dark Phoenix and died. And the asteroid dropped into lower Earth atmosphere, so they'd be able to breath though it should have been labored.

Previously on X-men: During the Dark Phoenix saga, Phoenix/Jean returned to earth but they were different. Phoenix became obsessed with human emotions, having never felt emotion before. This eventually lead Phoenix to become the Dark Phoenix which meant that she was as dangerous as the crystal she was meant to protect. So much so that she ATE a star resulting in the death of a star system. The newly-crowned Empress Lilandra, Xavier's "Bird Queen" lol , was forced to act and decreed that Jean/Phoenix was too dangerous to be left alive. As her imperial guards were about to take her, Xavier invoked an ancient challenge - a battle of honor in the X-men's name for Jean's life. Unable to refuse, Lilandra had everyone transported off world. The X-men battled the imperial guards on an uncharted area of Earth's moon, where, for some reason, they are able to breathe. THIS is the area with the ancient stone ruins where Rogue gave Bastion a good whoopin'. She was on familiar turf, having fought here before. Seriously: the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Saga in season 3 of the OG show is still a good watch. : ) Also, I mentioned this elsewhere: It took me a while to catch this but Maddy named Cable after Mr. Sinister! hahaha. They aren't in space, they are in a really high altitude, still it should be hard to breath but that maybe has to be part of the tech of the Asteroid M
