Fun fact: In the comics, it’s known that when they Watcher shows up in person, something majorly important is going to happen- and a lot of the time it’s something terrible. So the Watcher showing up in this episode was a warning that something major was about to happen.

I think Spider-Man said it in one of the crossover books, that if the Watcher shows up, you're in trouble. Whatever they were facing, he wasn't worried, because the Watcher wasn't there, then he turned and saw him.
I loved this. It's like they're starting to acknowledge the comic books more.
In the Civil War run the Watcher also appeared before the Pro Registration group (and they all saw it)

Gambit and Rogue kissed in the Savage land after Mr Sinister took all of the X-Men's powers away.
Lenore Zann does a great job in general but that broken little sob and the delivery of that last line was just wonderfully tear jerking.
I can't fucking believe they actually adapted it. Just two weeks ago someone said "wouldn't it be crazy if they adapted E for Extinction?" and I was like "That'd be crazy."

Its not really that alot of people die. Its just a major event that will shake the entirety of the Marvel timeline(s). Like in the comics when i think he witnessed events like Civil War. And then the What If series as he observes the nexus point that changes the MCU timeline into different directions (which yes, 7 times out of 10 does mean important and/or many people die)

As a fan of cyclops I can tell someone on the team is also a fan. They are doing everything they can to make this man likable but it seems to be the steepest uphill battle imaginable. ANY sign of struggle and they're immediately on his a$$.
He was on top of the world. He was the leader, had a wife, had a baby, was gonna go into retirement with the family. Magneto took over, wife left and wasn't actually Jean, baby was sent forwards in time, can't leave now after a nuclear bomb just dropped on mutant kind, and Jean is shacking up with Wolverine. He should be going ballistic.

Someone pointed out that the music that was playing in the club right before they got attacked was the same music that Madelyn Pryor heard in the first episode when she had that weird premonition vision. Showrunners got some good ass attention to detail moments.

the jelly with bones is a guy named Glob Herman. he is a relatively popular mutant online for being just being a cool dude. his father was extremely bigoted and he was abused by him nearly every day until his mom stole him and dropped him off at the x-mansion as a bruised and confused kid telling him to never try to try to find or contact them again. as a kid raised like that he was pretty bigoted at the school until softening up and becoming effectively everyones friend, he has a girlfriend that loves him and is registered election official. he is the epitome of everything the x-men are meant to protect.

Sheera Madeleine and Jean are the Same Person, same genetics, appearance, abilities, memory and Personality. The only difference between the two is Jean is Scotts childhood love, while Madeleine is his Wife and the mother of his son. Scott and jean share the same history but Scott and Madeleine share a parental bond and share the same pain losing their child. Scott can't just go back to jean after abandoning Nathan and act like his time with Madeleine didn't happen or matter. Him saying he loved both of them was the correct answer as they are literally the same.
This episode was spectacular. 10/10 Gambit is that dude
There aren't enough comments talking about Magneto trying to save the morlocks. All the pain and rage and sorrow he feels in that moment and he uses his last breath to comfort Leech because he promised he would never be scared again.

I wanna say it's a bit unfair to rag on Scott with the Jean situation. 1 he fell in love with yes, but not only are Jean and Madelynn pretty much the same, but Scott been married and had a kid with her. That's almost a year they've been together happily. And just cause Jean came back those feelings are supposed to suddenly end? So when Scott says he loves them both, i say that's probably the best thing he can say about how he feels, cause they're both Jean. I don't understand how people don't get that she's a clone. Meaning that she not only has Jean's DNA but her personality as well. If Jean hadn't been kidnapped and cloned, all those memories and moments Scott had with Madelyn would have been with Jean, including their son. Scott's argument against Jean doesn't even make sense. Why would he be some memory?
They're both going through some fucked shit but there's a difference between kissing someone in the spur of the moment and having a romantic affair behind someone's back for a month. Also something to remember is that he does this after Madeline left. She "abandoned" Scott. They both deserve some criticism but it's perfectly understandable for a fan to be annoyed with Scott for his behaviour.

The Sentinel attack had nothing to do with Magneto, it was just about Genosha getting accepted into the United Nations. It was about there being a mutant nation and it being a threat to "normal people"

@@Dracobyte They never explained why and Demayo isn't saying anything about it. The speculation is that Demayo has an Onlyfans account, and since higher ups at Disney still considers them as "family brand" they don't want a possible controversy or someshit. Really sucks because what he cooked up so far is really good. Animation service itself is done by Studio Mir, so animation looking good is on their part, but story itself is really solid to which is something Demayo and his team contributed.

Yes, Genosha is in Africa. It's a island north of Madagascar, off the coast of Africa.
Regarding Magneto & Rogue's relationship, in the comics Magneto was de aged. So even though he's mentally in his 50s-60s+, in the original stories, biologically he's in his 30s.
Yeah the Magneto/Rogue ship is wierd, if only because of the whole 'Magneto is a holocaust survivor, yet comics exist on a sliding timescale' thing.
I think it works perfectly fine in universe. It makes sense that Rogue would be romantically interested in the one guy who can actually physically touch her. Especially because he's Magneto, and Magneto's dope.
It also helped that their original relationship in the comics happened before Rogue and Gambit even MET. Gambit debuted about a year earlier at a time when Rogue had gone missing after a fight with Nimrod/MasterMold and was believed dead, but after the fling she didn't rejoin the team until right after Gambit had become a member. Their second attempt at a relationship happened at a time when Gambit had been turned into one of Apocalypse's Horsemen and couldn't be trusted because he still had his Death persona had in his head (just like Angel & Archangel).
In Africa, huh?? Could the survivors of Genosha ask Wakanda for relief support after that hellish attack??
@@senecavanzandt4425 Wakanda tends to stick to its own personal interests. Even when T'Challa was married to Storm he never made any real effort to help the mutant cause and that was BEFORE Namor flooded the country while high on the Phoenix Force.
That interview blowup with Cyclops is giving me massive “Cyclops is right” vibes. Revolutionary Cyclops, and the road to that version, was such a great era. It seems that this show is slowly building up to that development. I thought it was a good choice to have Scott lose control during the interview as it sets up the later events of the decimation of Genosha. Mutants have to try and appease humans time and time again, yet they are never truly accepted as an equal sapient being.
It was honestly quite hard to watch the attack on Genosha as it felt like a real terrorist attack. So many feels and emotions. And I also loved adapting the Scott/Emma mind palace cheating story with Madelyne instead as it feels so at home given this story. Scott and Madelyne share a son and lost him together. That shared parental bond and trauma is hard to replace. Especially since Scott was abandoned by his father.
And Magneto speaking german to Leech as they were about to die and Gambit’s “Remember it” callback then Rogue finally being able to touch him because he’s dead in her arms 😭😭😭
This is some of the best work that Marvel has put out and hopefully the MCU can handle the X-Men like this.
Can’t wait for the next episode.
Militant Cyclops would always be the best version of him, imo. Don't know why they scaled him back during Krakoa.
And we reached that point without having Cyclops going thru his Apocyclopse phase, still I believe Emma will find a way into the team after this

Gambit was originally an omega level mutant he unfortunately never met Professor Xavier when his powers first manifest. Mr. sinister offered to help him control his powers so he performed brain surgery on Gambit, fucking with the part of the brain that controls his powers which greatly reduced his capabilities because originally Gambit could just blow things up just by looking at them.
Isn't that only in some storylines and didn't Gambit go through that procedure willingly?

There was a storyline in the 90’s where Gambit fought against an alternate universe version of himself who was an Omega and I believe he got his powers originally restored. But at the end of that story arch his powers were brought back down to its current nerfed level. After he defeated his evil version

I got to say though, He should be closer to the clone. If you get rid of the creepy clone angle, he spent the last 9+ months with her, had more adventures with her, married her... or at least enjoyed married life with her. They share the grief of nathan, something the real Jean can't.

I also got confused when I watched this episode. The theme of Genosha sounds African because Genosha is North from Madagascar, East coast of Africa. So the music makes sense.
Genosha is an island in Africa so kinda Wakanda… but for mutants. It was introduced in the comics kind of like a standin for Apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s.
And yes, it was destroyed in the comics as well where 16 millions mutants were killed.
The two you guys were talking about were Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw, the White Queen and Black Queen of the Hellfire Club. They’re really important in the comics and Emma Frost became an X-Men so I doubt they killed them off along with Moira and Banshee.
