- We wanted to experience the solar eclipse in 100% totality so we looked for options of where to view the eclipse. Just an hour from our home in Jasper Indiana they were in the area that was to experience 100% totality so we decided to ride The Spirit of Jasper to view the eclipse. The Spirit of Jasper is a passenger excursion train that seats 120 people. It was sold out for this event.
If you have never seen an eclipse in 100% totality, it is well worth it. You just can’t explain in words what the experience is like. It is so surreal. The total eclipse darkness lasted over three minutes.

Fun train ride and a great way to see the total eclipse, Terri and Keith. Also great that some of your family joined you! Great day! We were passing though Kansas and Nebraska with total cloud cover and rain. ☹☹
We were afraid it was going to rain or be cloudy for the eclipse after planning for so long but the sky was beautiful & perfect for viewing. Safe travels Dave & Kathy & your momma

@RetiredLovingIt yep we did. Pearl was so cute. She was totally amazed by it. Our totality was a little over 2 minutes. All from the comfort of our backyard

What a cool way to go see the eclipse. A train ride into totality sounds like a fun experience. We watched if from our yard with glasses we bought off Amazon - but we only had like 75% coverage - so not close to totality and it never got completely dark where we were. But it was still very cool to go out and watch it. I love that they found snacks that fit the eclipse theme. Thanks for sharing this with us!

It was quite something! We had around 95% totality here in my area of Nova Scotia. Got a few pictures of it going across the sky, but watched most of it on the NASA channel. It was such a great shared experience!
This is the first time we have seen 100% totality and it was so surreal! Absolutely incredible!

Traffic was terrible driving back home but going there it wasn’t bad at all.
