They added a new version of Archer Drow last year for Black Friday which were pretty similar just with black scarth instead of red. I was so happy to get that one! :D
You either get the IoDA from spinning the Wheel of Doom or from buying it with x1000 Treasure Potions (these drops from the wheel itself, everytime you spin it). Last option is to buy the 40k acs package it includes a MIoDA.

If I was playing when the rare item was obtainable, I dont want it from ioda. Since I was just probably too lazy to get it. Just my thought.

My thought: get items that has/unlock quests that will help in farming or get chests if you want cosmetics
