Thanks for watching! I am so glad you commented here allowing me to find your channel, I see you have several videos that will be very helpful as a Radisson owner!
Pissing into the wind. Looks like mid summer and your looking for stocked trout? Stockies get hammered by fisherman right when they get put it in. Check with F&W for the stocking schedule
This trip was really more just about getting out with Stephanie during the rare time she had off from work. Some of those ponds do have Bass and Pike in them, but I do know what you mean about them getting hammered.
My neck o the woods (Floodwood) i've found firetiger anything Mepps # 4-#5 or Rapala work really well in Floodwood. Big bass & Pike s pend most of my week in Little square, when i can get there. Thanks Jay...love them videos !
I really love it up there, I have only been in the spring and summer, I am excited to try and plan a fall visit this year. I appreciate the advice, I will try it out while there!
What kind of canoe is that?? Is it heavy?? It looks very wide and more stable!! I'm new to the canoe world and looking to get my first 1!! Thanks for any information!! Tight lines
I don't know why I did not think of that! I will keep that in mind next time, thank you! Whenever I am Trout fishing on ponds or lakes I always default to the LCW setup or Trout Spinners.
@@DaxWoodsWanderer yeah me too works great for the brookies and splake but I don’t have much luck on rainbows up there on them for some reason. Floating power bait gets em though…it they’re there.
@@ADKAddicts I plan on heading back before we get into winter so I will def be trying it then. Surprisingly I did get into some Rainbows using the LCW on 6th Lake when I did Section 1 of the NFCT.
Little poliwog has the best brook trout of all! Many don’t take the time to fish it when the fish will actually hit… ice out! Let me know Dax I’m a local we should link up for a weekend and fish!
Nice video, looked like a good trip. It's a shame about the garbage you found, I've been finding a lot of the same on my trips as well. Fires in dumb places, broken glass, live trees chopped down, etc.
It really is crazy what people do out there. It did not end up in the video but the campsite at Horseshoe still had smoldering logs in the firepit surrounded by all that soft, burnable ground.
Thanks for watching! These ponds and lakes from the video definitely receive a fair bit of pressure during the summer, this is a fairly popular area to camp. I should have a video up soon of me hitting some more remote ponds in the same area once things thaw out here.
In this video we are using our 12 foot pointed Radisson. In most of my videos though you will see me in my 16 foot We-No-Nah Solo Plus. Thanks for watching Carl!
@@DaxWoodsWanderer Thanks for getting back to me. I really like the We-No-Nah canoe also. We decided to pull the trigger on a 14' Radisson/Sportspal pointed. We pick it up next saturday. I needed something light that I could put on my truck when we pull my home made camper. The lovely wife also asked for stable hence the decision. Keep up the good work.
What a great trip. Holy crap on a cracker! Catching that loon swimming under the boat! Footage of a lifetime! Irresponsible camping pisses me off! Makes ya wonder about some people, don’t it? Ya know, with all the swimming I’ve done in ponds and lakes in the Adirondacks, I don’t believe that I’ve ever had a leech grab onto me. Maybe it’s all the garlic I eat🤣
Thanks for watching! The loon was really awesome to capture, I could not believe how brazen they were while following my line. It is definitely always a bummer when you find a trashed campsite, but we try to be pretty good about cleaning them up when we find it. The leeches really were something else though! I could not believe the size of some of the leeches and crayfish we saw in those ponds.
I just picked up a 12’ Radisson in great shape. I like that removable yoke you have. Where did you get it? The gunnels have pretty small lips does it work well or did you have to do any mods? Any info would be awesome. I’ve been searching online for a removable portage yoke!
I got mine from Oak Orchard Canoe, if you google the name they should come up! It required no modification and worked like a charm, the only hard part is making sure its exactly at the balance point so it rests on your shoulders properly. You will love the canoe, its great for fishing and seems almost impossible to capsize. One thing I would mention that is crucial for fishing, good solid clamp on rod holders for trolling!
@@DaxWoodsWanderer thanks! I bought some down east rod holders earlier in the year so I’ll be trying those out. Mine is the 12’er but wide square transom. It seems on mine the balance point is where the oarlocks are. Thanks again!
@@DaxWoodsWanderer I just got the yoke and it’s a game changer thanks for the info. I also bought the rowing seat and that’s a game changer too. It really puts you in the perfect position to row. The seats on the canoe are too high and far back and if you sit on the hill you’re just too low. The rowing seat is awesome
Those are actually the seats it came with, I believe I have the Radisson 2021 parts list though somewhere in a PDF I could send you, the seats they sell should be the exact same ones.
@@elihusmails drive.google.com/file/d/1EmNfSUPshRy98nU_YLfsTypqC1rrD_an/view?usp=sharing I uploaded a copy to my Google Drive, you should be able to download it with that link. Awesome love seeing our canoes in the wild. Cheers from North Bay

About 1/3 of the way through this video and I realized what a Fun Gi you are 😎
Lmfao is it that obvious?
That under water footage of the loon was awesome!
Crazy, right?! I was stunned seeing it myself.
Nice work Jay and Stephanie - really enjoyed this vid.

No place better than the adk. Ice video
We loved it so much we moved here!
That’s what we are doing I just retired we are looking for a home up there.
Nice video. Just discovered it. How much traffic does this area get in July?
Oh it definitely gets some use. Weekdays are better than weekends.

Yes it is! The canoe in this video is a 12 foot Radisson. Great little boat for hitting the ponds.
Beautiful area but campsite trash is always very annoying. Not always possible but we try to pack it out when we can.
Thanks for watching Robert! We try to do the same, and leave any campsite we stay at a little nicer than we found it.
Try floating powerboat dough suspended about a foot or 2 off the bottom for rainbows. That seems to work for me in that area.
