- the "i'm actively ruining my life, but at least i look cool" aesthetic is making its rounds again.... stop trying to make indie sleaze happen- it's never going to happen
but even if it did, we'll never be in the throws of it the way we were from 2008-2012. kesha's tiktok can only be released for the first time once, and for that i am grateful
hopefully you liked this one! i thought the outcome was pretty good. in hindsight, i went a little grungier with the outfit than i originally planned, but i'm blaming it on the purple under eyes. they really took over at the end there

I think what made indie sleaze what it is , and I could be wrong is I don’t believe millennials had as much self awareness of their current state in their 20s as us Gen Z do rn . And, I mean that in the way that we are SO zeroed in on every single aspect of our lives, and what’s currently going on in the world. I don’t think Gen x and ML experienced it in the way we are rn? If that makes sense, it’s almost like Gen Z lacks the ability to live in the moment the way previous generations did? Not so much older Gen Z those who are 25 rn, but definitely those under 24/25 hope this makes some sense lol
it definitely makes sense! i agree (at least on a surface level since obviously we can't know for sure what they were feeling) that it does seem like the previous generations felt much less..... impending doom and crushing amounts of pressure???? and if that's true, it definitely played a huge role in the carefreeness indie sleeze portrayed. if it's not true, they did a great job pretending it was!
