great vid - I was expecting the video footage to be much more low quality than it was - this makes it seem like a reasonable project to install some home surveillance cameras that are both cheap as heck and decent enough to use as evidence if something were to happen ( I am not a lawyer this is not legal advice )

Very Powerful board, is it possible to extend the lenght of the flex cables connected to the camera? It would be cool if you could detach the cam from the board and have a longer cable

I put mine in a security camera dummy, with a P2 lipo pouch battery. I didn't use stock code, but I also didn't use the batery break out as the board has a ams1117 already!!
This means that you could run 12v which you put through the 5v pin.
The problem... Is that the and dov is 1.2v way below safe for lipo, but you could have a BMS. Or /and use a Read and switch code...
But the big issue was heat after 3-4 hours I melted the hot glue holding the camera in.
While it had fairly good air space, it was a disappointment, could lead to burns.

ugh... it looks like the pin headers for the battery shield board in his amazon link does not come with the female end so that you can stack it. I found that out after blindly buying up the materials. So in other words i unpacked it all and then i was basically jamming the male pins from both the battery charging board and esp32cam together thinking they'll connect...and im like... yea something isn't right here... i need a female header to plug into...it's easy not to make that mistake if you have experience but im fairly new to this. so just an fyi for anyone else trying this for first time. So yea back to amazon to find the female header.
shouldn't you do some kind of encryption for your wifi settings in the IDE so that you don't have a device on your network with the password in plain text?
The WiFi is in the code, it's not that easy to access for the common person.
The WiFi it's self as ap is encrypted

OK I'm lost I hooked it up I followed you and hooked it up perfectly correct even though I can hardly read the pinout labels but I hooked it up double check triple checked it's alright and then you get to the video once you flash it............ And then you simply take everything apart and hook it up to it motherboard? What about flashing it what do you mean by that are you talking about putting a program up on it? I am totally confused right now . I really need to get this done I've developed some programming that I really wanna implement a little camera on

this is an awesome project but i see drone bot workshop has taken it a step further by using some of the pins to control a motor controller. i took this and stuck in in a mini tank
Fun little board but face recognition is kinda useless with the current software. No way to add name to face, I found one sketch that does this but it glitches. A pin drops low for intruder alert but since there are so many false readings your alarm always goes off. Got mine streaming to a Blynk server so I can see it from my phone.

Have you familiarized yourself /w languages (python, C, Java html etc)? Along /w windows, debian and based OS and their powershell/terminal? Hardware is usually your last concern. But if so its the same as anything. You backdoors are beautiful but always prepare for the worst. Bruteforce. Lots of processes and little time. Get a high ghz processor. Somthing over 3.2. Anything more than 8 cores and id concern myself with the speed and not the cores. Same with the ram. Fast as you can get. If you're up to fun and no good id imagine you'll be booting from live versions. So if you get better hardware (pro/ram) but it comes with an hdd and not a ssd go for performance. Youll likely be ripping it out and running off a plug in anyway. Happy hunting! Btw I'm no expert like the guy above. Please learn your stuff before risking imprisonment.

Do ESP 32 troubleshooting connection etcetra video break everything down into a series cover USB driver issues cover connection to the various breakout boards pin out exact step-by-step instructions what the hell flashing means etc because new people like me that are fairly smart but completely unfamiliar with these devices cannot follow these vague instructions when you just say hooking up this way then after you're done flashing etc etc etc what does that even mean I have no idea if you're talking about programming I don't know what you're talking about flashing. Flashing to me is upgrading firmware but there's absolutely nothing in your tutorial here that describes what you're talking about and what you need to do I appreciate your effort I really honestly do but I am more confused now than I was when I clicked on your link
