Gotta say red barrels has gone above and beyond with this game. Nobody expected the story driven, solo horror adventures of the century to even grasp the multiplayer genre but here we are. Keep up the good work guys us outlast fans really appreciate it 🙏
Anything can be done right with enough effort. Santa Monica tried giving their God of War single-player franchise a multiplayer mode with GoW Ascension (and they failed apparently), but had they done it right (like making it available to PC), it would have received the same treatment as this.
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from Franco, so when he started jogging about the place I was immediately on edge as I've been so used to the Prime Assets having a leasurely stroll around the place. The amount of times he's blindsided me so far has been fantastic!

Whoever came up with the idea of the new program arrangement deserves a raise, it adds so much life to the game! The difficulty selections make it easy for newer players to ease into the harder difficulties. Escalation is almost single-handedly the best addition to the game probably ever! It manages to keep everything fresh in case the game gets stale - as I said, whoever came up with it deserves a raise
Would be nice if there was more MK levels.
@@OpticHamster69 I do believe some new MK challenges exist in the Bambino program, but if you don't want Barbi to be there you'll have to play with the lowest difficulty which isn't very fun. I do kinda wish we had a dedicated program just for the MK challenges
@@1cedcoffee I agree with the dedicated program for MX's, I think that is the only thing I think this update is missing, but otherwise I am very happy, I also much prefer the docks map over the toy factory maps which is a bonus

I do wish that Barbi had a bleed effect for his bullets, but other then that? You guys have knocked it out of the park with this update and cannot wait for what you guys at red barrel have in store for us 🎉
Escalation is so addictive, and the difficulty system is amazing, the only problem is that they removed most mk challenges but i'm sure we'll see them again someday

Got to say this really shoes some insight I haven't seen since since early 2000's game devs. However, being a consumer I never know just how hard you guys work. Great job!
Still not enough for some spoiled brats though. Small sized studio churning out AAA quality content and updates, and people still aren't happy because it's not Outlast 3

Future update ideas :
Map: Farm
Antagonist: Berry
Weapon of choice: chain saw
Background: a father of 3 who gets addicted to coke who one day doesn’t have enough for it so he kills he whole family out of rage - the farm is then left abandoned and he still roams the lands with his chainsaw.
Map features: Barn, farm house, stable, maze corn fields and a tower.
Antagonist accent: southerner
Idea number 2:
Map:castle
Antagonist: rusavell Parkins
Weapon of choice: sword axe or old medieval weapon
Background: she was once a member of the murkoff facility but due to back work ethic, she was drugged and turned into a monster as she was tested on too many times.
Map features: huge castle with an attic and huge basement with secret doors, old caves, broken bridges and a pier.
Idea number 3 -
Huge Forest with roads in between with an asylum, huge mansions and old buildings.
You guys do the rest 🎉

I started playing the game after this update, and i'm glad i'm starting late like this so i can get the whole game as something new.

Pleaseeee make another prime asset in the future! Franco legit is the scariest out of the prime assets and gives a ton of character to the game with his attitude and personality. You guys are masterclass at making scary villains and I would love to see another prime asset

This isn’t exactly the first ranged enemy in Outlast. In Outlast 2, when Nick and Laird were attacking you. They would actually fire arrows at you while they were chasing you.

They're not deleted. They're there as part of the escalation program

Good update. Yes, those who previously got skins from catalogs for $ don't need to get again, this is more for those who didn't have time or newbies. Also, you could make it so that completed daily, weekly and tasks from the program are displayed at the very top of the list.
I’ve been having a blast with Escalation therapy. I can’t wait for the upcoming Franco Barbie MK challenges to add onto it!
The Murkoff Tasks adds so much to encouraging replayability. As someone who's been playing since Early Access, progression outside of trials felt a bit lacking. With Tasks, it feels way more earned as opposed to pure playtime.

i really enjoyed the mk challenges and will be sad to not have them easy to access 😭
You guys and gals are amazing. This was one of the best updates in any video game in a long time. I do hope though down the road you guys allow rebirth coins to stack in escalation mode. I've lost out on two rebirths now from doing escalation runs because it caps and doesn't stack at 20. I also really would like to see an option in escalation mode to skip an upgrade if you don't want it ( had to give up noise reduction a few times which is crucial up in the later stages, same with Incognito) and I really, really hope you guys bring the new Ultra in escalation to normal genesis, maybe the final difficulty passed Psychosurgery? Because the new Ultra is no joke and I absoltluey love it, I just don't wanna have grind to 15 then 35+ in Escalation to play it every time. Either way, thank you for the content and I will be on this game for many years to come. My GOTY for 2024.
The new ending is incredible. I think you should do a different ending. Such as a failed reagent trying to escape from the facility or scene without going through the "employee only" door.

I was originally skeptical about the catalogues. But the way you get the tickets to purchase the stuff within gave me a new reason to play the game rather than just getting everything to A+ and buying amps

this update was a true banger
Awesome update! I just wished I could see the new ending of the reborn program right away, since I still see old endings and have to complete it multiple times to see the new ending.
My opinion bout some side trials getting removed was kinda sad and the release trial is so hard now like screamer and that blindd guy combo with xray man in keys place is hard
i tried the new trial in psychotheraphy mode and it was amazing, definitely a step up from the previous hardest dificulty.
I hope they'll eventually do a new Prime Asset
Please add multiple programs that include the old MK Ultra trials. They were short and sweet which made it easier to hop on for a few trials and then leave instead of having to worry about a lengthy trial with multiple stages.
LET US CHOOSE MK CHALLENGES AGAIN PLEASE
please, please consider bringing to life some new kind of spin-off programs that takes us back to the past with the old enemies of Outlast 1 & 2 running around chasing and killing.

Went into the update thinking it was just franco, and then realized it was a whole new game wtf 💀
Escaping with a char got super hard. I finished it once already.
Wooow. Escalation is the best that could happen to this game. 20 is my highscore, who got more?
I economized 80 000 dollars in the game before the new update, I realized that I should have spend this earlier 😅.

@@gosnfrenki A prime asset that is present in many places in outlast trials. For example, you can find his company "Whitehorn Petroleum" in the first Franco cutscene, inside the fun park and in the Toy Factory.
Whitehorn was mentioned in a document alongside Gooseberry and Coyle. Not only that but there is a drawing of a child in the orphanage.
There is a lot of hints towards this character inside the game.
Why is no one upset that you can no longer play whatever trial challenge you want? I have to wait every 10 days or so when they decide to update the playlist to see if my favorite challenges are in it. Now if I want to play them I need to go to escalation where they are random. This was a bad change. Let me play the content I paid for when I want to. Not when you decide I can.
