- How the Alcatraz Great Building Works Best
Why you shouldn't have more than one rogue hideout in your city
How to create a lot of troops without keeping a high number of military buildings in your city taking up space - Ігри
Alcatraz does a random roll for each military building and that gives you the units you get. So having 3 rogue hideouts and 1 other military building, will over a week or so give you 3x as many rogues as the other units.
This is an interesting one. Both myself and others with YT channels haven't been able to get a clear message on this. Last time I did a bunch of research it indicated that the 2x 3x thing was not consistent. Since I mainly focus on specific unit productions based on my era or strategy I just store or delete all unit buildings and keep only a single of what I want my traz to produce for that cycle. This saves static space in my city and guarantees the production values.
As I understand it, the unit production from Traz is "random" regardless of the ratio of buildings you have in your city, BUT the percentage chances of that random production (probability) are dependent on the ratio. So for example, if you're in Progressive Era and have 4 rogue hideouts and 1 tank factory, your Traz will have an 80% chance to produce rogues and 20% chance tanks for a single collection. Over time, it should reflect that ratio pretty closely, but on a given day, it's still dependent on the whims of the RNG (random number generator or algorithm, essentially).
Dude thanks that really cleared up the questions I had for Traz
Thanks for the tips
can I ask what is that down the left hand side of your screen?
On the right side is a browser plug in tool I use called Forge Commander. It helps with displaying stats from the game in a more logical fashion and also helps with a lot of calculations. If you go to forgecommander.com you can learn more. I'm not affiliated with them, I just like the tool.
If you only have rogues how can you fight them without any secret identities? Don't you need at least one other type of military building? Thanks for the great video. I learned much about my Traz which is only at level 7 now.
Hi John, you just have to rack the rogues with at least 1 other kind of troop (can be any troop from any age). Or you can mix the troops...meaning if you put 1 heavy and 1 light and 6 rogues in your rack, the rogues will convert to one or the other of those troops when they get hit. There's no way to control which troop they will convert to if you start with a mixture..it's random. Most of the time I start with 1 or 2 of the same troop, then they all convert to the same one guaranteed. I'm going to make another video addressing the best way to deploy roges. You don't need any military GB in your town for rogues to work. As long as you have troops in your inventory to deploy, there's no technical need for a building to exist. You just need at least 1 military building of any kind in order for the Traz to output troops into inventory.
@@foeadvance7024 thanks for the response. look forward to your next video sir.
I know I'm posting a couple years after, but I have multiple rogue hideouts but I only have a level 12 traz, so I try not to use my unattached to battle right now I just use the ones I make to build up my unattached military
Enjoyed the Video .Just to confirm that I'm best to have 1 Rogue and 1 other unit as opposed to having at least one of each of 4 different fighting buildings
Yes if you want to maximize production of specific units you need the most of (vs luck of the random). I typically put down different buildings over time (one at a time plus the Rogue bldg) depending on what combo's I need for my fight strategies in a given era.
My Traz is at 57 .What would you recommend as good unit combo in Progressive Era
Would it make sense to have more than one rogue hideout earlier on in the game when the traz is in the lower teen levels?
It would make sense to have multiple rouge buildings if you have no or a low Traz. Mainly so you can stack your quantity of rogues to be more available as you use them (they take so long to cook on a full cycle)!
I found that you not only don't need to put a military bldg. on a two-lane road, you don't have to build it. I put one on a single lane road and the Traz began producing them immediately.
Correct
That's one of the main points of the video. You don't have to construct the building at all, just to place it, then collect. Then you can delete it if you want until next collection.
Do I understand correctly that you don't have to have a military bldg. on a 2-lane road (as required to build) to collect them from the Traz? Does it have to even be on any road?
That is correct.
@@foeadvance7024 Thank you. Very interesting.
If I have a Royal Bath House which produces military will that upset the ratio and would more rogue hideouts held repair rogues faster.
It would make sense that bath houses benefit the fighting cause for good. On a serious note this is from the wiki..its definitely a weirdo building. I'm no bath house expert, but I don't think it would upset ratios since it does what it does standalone (like a Gov's Mansion). The Royal Bathhouse produces Coins Coins and Forge.png Forge Points and Guild Goods. When motivated, its coin production is doubled and additionally it produces military units. The Royal Bathhouse produces random Military Unit Military Units of the building's age when it is motivated. The Royal Bathhouse may also produce military units that usually are not available to the player. For example, an Early Middle Age Royal Bathhouse can produce Barbarians and Barbarian Slingers, and an Industrial Age Royal Bathhouse can produce Brave Warriors and Mounted Braves. REGARDING more hideouts, I've never heard they will repair faster (as in stacking). The way to repair and build units faster is a higher level guild.
@@foeadvance7024 My concern is that Alcatraz produces random units based on what unit producing buildings you have, so the Bath house units produced will influence what you get from Alcatraz
Hi George, not sure if you ever found the answer to this particular question, but to answer you now, no, the Royal Bathhouse (or Governor's Villa, Knight's Pavilion, etc.) does NOT affect the types of troops your Traz produces. The Traz is ONLY affected by the kinds of barracks (built or unbuilt) that you have placed in your city. So, in that sense, the Bathhouse gives you all of the benefits of random unit production without any of the headaches associated with figuring out unit ratios for production, etc. The same thing should also now apply to the winter pyramid as well.
my Traz randomly produces Military Drummers and Color Guards for me.
i dont have those buildings down on my base, nor have i ever had them
down on my base.
I gotta admit, haven't run across that one. If I don't have any unit-buildings in my city the traz won't collect at all. It will display a message saying I need a military unit building in order to collect.
My Traz is almost level 10 but it requires a ton of fps to level, even with a 1.9 thread. I'm thinking that it shouldn't be built too early or it will just take up precious space.
The Traz is a massive beast of a building. Going higher than 10 for now would be based on your gameplay strategy (such as fight fight fight and get the related rewards). I'll record a video to address this in more detail. As an aside if you play on mobile, put your Traz in 'move mode' and drag it around your city to find hidden Incidents that you can't see on some of your roads!
For all great buildings, level 8-12 are the worst when using a 1.9 thread, as you have to pay around 60% of the total FP cost yourself. (Swap threads aren't any better unless you can manage to get a good return on your swaps, or you have a strong Arc).
However this ratio peaks at 10->11, and then drops constantly until level 50 or so when the ratio is only around 2%. (Then the ratio then starts to rise again, getting to around 20% at level 80).
So after level 10, everything gets progressively easier. Hence the best strategy is - either commit to really levelling a building part 10, or don't put it down until you are ready.
Early levels are always the toughest. If you get through them to 20? It becomes far easier to level. 1-20 was tough but 20-44 has been far easier.
I still do not get why everybody says you need the traz. I mean I fight every day. In GEX I can fight automatically up to level 4 without losing more units then I get out of it. In GBG I can make hundreds of fights without losing units thanks to the buildings. Without the buildings I can win about 30 fights in GBG every day before loosing to much units. The mayors house produces units and I have a rogue hideout. I get even more units from my Himeji castle and from GEX. I never need more units to fight GBG or GEX then I already have. Ok you need fighting bonus but that's it.
I can understand the logic in not having a Traz if you are getting enough units from those other methods. The Traz will offer the flexibility of generating troops for any era buildings you put in your city, which is critical if you play GvG. Also critical related to having thousands of units on hand for GvG since it's required. Also helpful if you have a high Attack percentage and you really want to lean in to GbG for rewards and play into higher attrition numbers where you can afford to waste units.
