Sounds like an explosion when these things blow! So be sure to keep it well maintained!

I suppose I should consult my owners Manual to make sure it's the same Procedure for a 2016 Renegade. I think that is a Gen III sled..

Yes operators manual, otherwise your local dealer are both great resources.

@@skidoo My Local Dealer sent me a ltter that I should bring my sled 40 miles both ways for service.. They never even greased the skid during Prep and it ran out of gas trying to drive it onto my trailer. I have a Shop Manual for almost every Car , Truck , Loader , Crane , Tractor . Motorcycle and Snowmobile I own .. I never did get the Shop Manual for the Skidoo .. I kept asking for it after I bought the Renegade in 2014 .. I have the Complete Owners Manual for my 2006 Yamaha Attack .. I have the Shop Manual for my 2016 Yamaha FZ-07 on odf and just got a 644 page shop manual for my used 2008 Buell Ulysess. So for the Skidoo it seems I just have the Large Owners manual that was stored under the seat.
You need a Freaking Shop Manual to take the hood off from the 2014 Skidoo .. My Yamaha just needs a few Zus Fasteners turned 1/4 .. What on Earth was Skidoo thinking with their Hood Design.. I just saw a Snow Trax Video that says Skidoo Finally made taking the hood off easy on the Gen V sleds.. I want to race in Cross Country races but I have an 800 Cc and they only allow 600's the Renegade X folds like an Acordian .. To ride hard you really need the race sled to avoid bending and breaking ..
I had to drill and tap or and weld grease zerks on the Yamaha skid which now is broken.. for the grease zerks to actually work .. Now I have a Team Fast Diamond Air skid to install ..

      Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear, operators guides will be different than a service manual, which can be purchased through your dealership. Your operators guide can typically be found under the drivers seat otherwise you can find your operators guide at the link below.

@@skidoo I live in Southern MI.. I took the Owners manual out of the Seat and Had forgotten you can store it there. It has been in my shop manual filing Cabinet which I have more than 1 4 drawer Cabinet.
I purchased my Skidoo from a different Dealer than my Yamaha though that dealer sells doo too .. I bought the Skidoo from Leaders Marine and they fill the gas tank on all the sleds they sell. My Yamaha is way more durable but so heavy the Skidoo is more fun to ride .. The Yamaha is faster on top end .. but Skidoo accelerates faster being 180# Lighter.
I bought a used Mountain sled seat last year because I have short arms and Leggs. I also bought the extra LED headlight as at my age (61) in early stages of Cataracs I need all the lighting I can get. In 2014 I thought the stock headlight was great. It appears I bought one of the last Axially head lights in stock and it is obsolete already ..
