1. Push forward with Hydras 2. Use lurkers like widow mines (1 or 2 in any one area, have them follow the Hydras and burrow as soon as the enemy is spotted) 3. Retreat over lurkers 4. Mass viper to deal with air It's a solid strategy
@@abyrvalg_ tanks i think you can maybe cram early vipers I know there's also swarm hosts but you don't wanna be playing swarm host hydra the value for supply is plummeting
Hello, I'm a new player and Zerg is my favorite race. I struggle with them though due to the constant need for injection cycles and creep spread. Usually I just send one tumor out at a time to spread my creep, but I notice Harstem using many. Should I always lay down multiple tumors and spread them as a group? What is the benefit of doing so?
The biggest advantage of spawning creep tumors in clusters is that you can spread multiple tumors at a time and you can split them up eventually, so your queens dont have to be all over the map.
@@goul7712 That makes sense, I'll try to spawn more of them. This game is very hard for a new player unfamiliar with RTS but I'm trying to learn the right way using control groups and stuff. Mostly I just end up using the all army key though, I've heard it is good to unbind it so you don't form bad habits but I'm like 40-60 APM at best rn so I'm just trying to form the muscle memory and stuff. Not sure why I said all this but thanks for answering.
what mmr/rank are you rn? creep isn't too important at the lower level, you should focus on having good macro (drones, bases, injects) first. Don't try to overdo it with all the stuff that requires a high apm, focus on mastering the fundamentals and you will be able to build up to more consistent creep and unit micro
Multiple tumors spread creep more quickly so you are guaranteed to reach the max spread distance by the time the tumor is ready to spread while also covering a bigger area. You just need to get used to the rhythm of Inject, spread creep, produce, micro units. at first it can be overwhelming but it becomes second nature if you just keep practicing it
@@williamwyckoff I don't know my rank yet, I've played a few games and got stomped so for now I've been focusing on learning build orders mostly vs the AI. I can beat them pretty easily on harder difficulty with Protoss. If I had to guess I'm probably at a bronze or silver level, I started about a week ago. I only know about stuff like injection because I've looked up a lot of guides, I was just building a lot of hatcheries before that. I'll probably start doing some proper matches once I feel like I can comfortably execute a Zerg build order and get used to injection cycles. Zerg feels much harder than Protoss or Terran for a beginner I think, but they're my favorite thematically and I wanna get good at them. I'm also still messing with hotkeys. I prefer grid right now but I've heard it is better in the long run to learn standard. Not too sure. Thanks for the advice btw, any is appreciated. Learning this game is quite a challenge but I really enjoy it so far.
this isnt really that new tbh. you could in hots even trade pretty ok against mmm with r/h. and in lotv i played mass hydra and r/h against battle mech. but, not to be all negative and shit, thanks for showing that this can work!
Harm basically paraphrased a nice equivalance of a popular engineering-principle: KISS, Keep It Simple, Stupid. Don't play above your skilllevel and you get a better result. You don''t get all your injects? No problem, just use more expensive units which also are stronger per unit. I like it.
He's been paid off by Big Hydralisk. This whole video is an ad.

hydra is the coolest looking unit in the game, thanks for this!
I see traumas from Meomaika are still very real.

i am a zerg player, but that "if you aren't a zerg player, have fun playing against mass hydra for the next few weeks" is so funny lmao
I get destroyed playing mass hydra vs mech, could you provide example of playing va mech with mass hydra?
i suspect rhe firebat is the problem. You might have to go banes
@@sakesaurus Mass tanks, mostly are. The rest is shredded by hydras.
@@abyrvalg_ More vipers then I assume. That is the most direct counter against Siege Tanks.
