ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU and cannot tell you how excited I am for you...holler at me ANYTIME!!! 😎 My Ovation porpoised on my 1st solo...in 2003 after 2 bounces I went full power and escaped...I learned since then..SPEED HAS TO BE PERFECT IN A MOONEY! I am again very glad knowing you saved that worthwhile bird!!! 🤗
Hi there, I am watching this with interest. We have a Mooney 205 with the exact same colour scheme - 1990 model. We just did an engine overhaul, with about 50 hrs on the new engine. It still flies like a dream.
That was a good buy. I own a M20K, and had the opportunity to buy an MSE, and I can kick myself for not buying it. (that one got upgraded avionics here in South Africa, and then they flew up to Italy). The M20J is the sweet spot of the Mooney range, and there is nothing that compare safety, speed and economy wise. The MSE and year model is just the cherry on top. Next try this to climb in. Both seat al the way back. climb with both feet in, back against the door arch, left hand on the pipe above the dash board. Just lower yourself and sit down. Now shift over to Pilot seat. To exit, just reverse the procedure. Co-pilot side, left hand on middel pole, just stand up, back agains the door arch, and just step onto the wing.
I am soo glad to hear this. The I-CAMY is a sweet little plane indeed. I can’t wait to fly it. Until then, I hope that it will not burn a hole in my pocket. (Oh yes, it will😉). Thanks for your kind words!
@@73erKadett My technique to get into my M20J is a bit different. With both seats all the way back, I first kneel on the co-pilot seat, facing backwards, then move my right knee onto the pilot seat, bring my left knee and then I just twist 180 degrees and I just "fall" into my seat. To each his own!
Great series! You've got an amazing plane. If you come in a little hot the key is to let it float - it will settle onto the runway when its ready. Nosing down initiates the dreaded porpoise.
This is what I heard also. I am not very concerned as I wasn’t flying any Cessna bricks with 40° flaps in final approach but Gliders and then the Diamond planes (I am from Austria). Having said that I learned that in case of doubt, go around. Especially with that Mooneys. Can’t wait to try it out myself😉
You get two "porpoises" then you get a prop strike. If you bounce hold the nose up until she settles on the ground. Look up Don Kaye Mooney on how to land a Mooney and what happens if you let the nose come down after a bounce. O.K. you are into it for 27,269 USD. So basically you got a airworthy engine, if they signed it off, and free parts of a airplane. Not bad. If you part it out you will make money. You can cut up the front and make a awesome simulator! You're looking at $20k for a paint job. O.K. That would put you into it for $47, 269 USD plus whatever you spent so far. The single mag isn't desirable. Left foot in the pilot well and use your left hand on the window bar and back into the pilot seat. .
That’s very kind, thanks. I am lagging behind with the videos as I had to fly to Mt. Everest to film it and then to Hong Kong. Soon I will be on vacation and then I plan to edit the next episode🙂👍
You have officially "stolen' an airplane! The avionics are worth the price you paid for it! Every airplane in the world has cobwebs and dust...give me a flashlight and access to a Lufthansa 767 and I'll find some in their plane. 'Barnstormers', has a Lycoming IO-360 for sale for $21,750 so you can always sell the engine to make back 85% of your money! They have other Mooney's for sale...a 1977 M20J is up for $94,500, but that's a low price because the engine has 2400 SMOH and 4731 hours on the engine. 'Controller' has some Mooney's for sale....From $120,000 up to $800,000. Lets face it...the guy needed the money and you were at the right place at the right time! If you put the work into it and restore it to flying condition then even if you never flew it yourself you could sell it for a huge profit, ( make sure you tell your wife as much...and it's true...look up the price for a comparable Mooney with a zero-time engine ). Here's the problem.....you're not going to want to sell it! I sure wouldn't! And if you can learn and balance settings on Flight Sim it's really the same thing in the real plane!

Just found this series and watched both episodes. Excellent find and I'm really looking forward to seeing more.

Hi, what’s the status on your mooney?i m also looking for a Mse
Only problem With this engine is the dual mag which is very hard to get service for. Otherwise looks pristine inside. Serwus!
My bad day in my Mooney Eagle... been trying to send pictures but can't figure that out... you did good! 😁
Hi! I'm very curious! What is with the next parts?I look forward to continuing impatiently.Best regards
I am finally on holiday now in Greece and I brought the laptop and the SSD’s. Hang in there😉
Das sieht doch alles machbar aus! Mit den richtigen Leuten eine schöne Sache.
