@soxas 75-80% still isnt bad, i suggest though if youre still playing the game to use turbo or a speed hack during a fight (tab is the default key for tubro, it doubles you're speed by x2 im pretty sure so instead of 75-80% itll be closer to 160%)

I did everything exactly as in the video, but mine doesn't have mipmapping settings. That version you showed in the video is no longer available to download, and the latest version doesn't have the mipmap option.

wanted to say thank you. ive seen several of the silent videos and always had lag after, but your short explanations let me know which ones i needed to adjust ( the x16 seems a bit much for my 4 year old lap top sadly) i lowered that and now it seems to be all good. i will say that you don't need another program for a ps4 controller, it has a setting under controllers that you can check off and it allows ps4 readily. then again i have the newer version so maybe that wasnt a thing back then. thanks again

Most likely you have a USA(NTSC) ISO, the Europe (PAL) ISO will likely work on that BIOS. I'd recommend the PAL ISO anyway as it means it only needs to run at 50FPS to be considered 100% speed.

Hey guys if your getting crazy stutter or anything when panning around the camera just turn speedhacks to "1"and then click apply. in my case speedhacks actually caused an insane amount if stutter.

@@Solder_it Hey there, I just wanted to let you know that MOH: F doesn't actually need an incredibly powerful computer to run on. I can't remember my exact settings, but if you look around online, you should be able to find a list of settings that should allow you to run the game.

Emulators are hard to run there can be endless problems. i can be running the witcher 3 on ultra in 144FPS but i wouldn't be able to run some random game on PCSX. your gpu might be to weak for this or your processor

So I did everything in the video and after I changed my rendered to direct 3D 11 (software), I get a steady 30-40 fps, but my game still seems to be in kind of slow motion. Should I just keep messing around with the speed hacks?

It might be your pc tho... to make those messy textures of 14.0 away you will need a pretty good pc... my game lagged a really tiny bit at the boss battle... try to mess around with speedhacks and if that doesn't work tr lowering the resolution
trying putting the speed hacks to balanced(3) and put the resolution to 1280×720. worked for me. i also kept the aspect ratio at standard 4:3 because the picture looked stretched
You're exactly right! It's funny, I've been having trouble emulating for awhile cause it was always slightly slow-mo. I fixed that by overclocking my pc, and updating my emulator and following your video. Also before it was all ugly and pixelated, but I just chalked that up to them being old games. But apparently that was my fault too :'D

Something weird I've noticed, idk if you have too, but ratchet and clank 3 seems to run a lot faster than R&C 1. They must have optimized it better or something.
You will also want to enable HW Hacks and then go to advanced settings and hacks, check Align Sprite and Alpha. This will prevent some blurring ghosting effects.
MattC78 didn't see the need to eneable it with this game but in my jak 3 video it was a must idk about the preformance impact of those options on older hardware
Yes I am using a GTX 1080. I am also using PCSX2 Version 1.4.0 with Dev GS Plugins, Direct3D 11 Hardware mode. I was getting a blurry effect on the edges of the screen in 16:9. It was also causing some blurry ghosting effects in the Quark Vid Comic modes. This fixed the issue for me
A budget laptop for $300 and this actually works on it. I didn't set the computer resolution to 1080p it just currently on 480p to increase frame rate.
Worked like a charm on my old i5-2400 with gtx 750ti on full hd with constant 50 fps. :) I have changed the resolution to 1280:1024(4:3) because the game seems strethed to me at 16:9 resolution.
Still helpful even in 2020, out of all the videos on optimizing and changing the pcsx2 settings this one was by far the best and helped the most (and for the specific game I downloaded the emulator for), thanks bro I've been trying a lot of stuff to get to work well this definitely helped as well as keeping the game looking good (the anisotropic filtering and mipmapping helps a lot with looks when the original ps2 picture is stretched to fit my monitor :P) also, im not sure if its just cause my pc (i have a 6 core cpu running at 3.6-8ghz, 16gbs of ram, and an nvidea 2gb gpu) but I noticed my performance/speed/fps is much better when i have my preset setting on the slider at 3-5, I think its the speedhacks that help speed it up, turbo also works similar with a lower preset but I think the turbo x2 your speed where as the preset slider setting changes it so that it only speeds up when the game/frame slows down so in menus/pause screen or whenever the game isnt slowed down you'll def notice the double times speed/turbo just cause of the audio and other things, so the preset speed hack settings on the slider work better in my opinion just cause it keeps the game close to a consistent speed (for me it sticks to around 100% speed) thanks again :D its very nostalgic to be able to play this game again

Thanks a lot for your work! It work wells on graphic, but I guess it needs a good processor for having a fluid gaming experience, I face some lags and slows
U dont need to do the no disc and boot bios thing, that wont change how the game runs. Also u dont need to type in ur resolution, just go with the native options, its more convenient and easier for those who dont know what resolution they are at, etc. I know some ppl who dont care about these things just playing the games. What can i say they are out there trust me. So go native. 2x native is 720p, 3x is 1080p, in the newest version of pcsx2 ull have it described if u choose those natives, so ull know, where u at. Also select ps2 billinear texture filtering and use similar setup as in the video, except for the resolution. The setup for the controller, well do this only if u have what he has, otherwise, if u have a generic gamepad orsomethign, just go in controllers PAD plugin settings and set up, buttons and whatnot to ur liking or how it should be on a ps2-3-4 pad. And hm ur good to go. Dont bother with audio, most game (like 99% that run on pcsx2 has no issues, or at least those that i tried didnt have any, or im deaf). also when u go video/windows setting, u can switch up 4/3 and 16/9 res. if the game wont run one of them. This game runs 16/9, so u should select that as in the video. U can check for the mouse pointer to disappear when playing the game, so it wont bother u. Thats about it. U should be good to go. Launch games with boot iso fast, dont do the full, unless the game wont run with fast (there are some examples, but far and few between, u should be fine with at least this game). So this video is alright except the bios setting, u dont need to do that really and for the resolution selection, u dont need to put in ur own native, u just select multiplying option 2x-3x-4x-5x-6x etc. Also u extract wherever u want and name folders whatever u want. I didnt hear him explaining that, it was like u must do as he was telling u. U dont. U dont have to even do a separate folder for the isos, if u dont want to do that. U can though. Its ur choice. I did my own thing setting up pcsx2 and games running just great 4k, on 1080p display they look as awesome as a ps2 game can look. Also u can play around with shaders in video plugin options, it can make an impact how the game looks or u can download some custom settings for shaders etc. Search google u have some options there. Btw nice video and good step by step except for some things, still great video. If u want the game running for u good, ull need a decent cpu+gpu combo and at least 4gb ram, to be safe 8gb ram is best. I dont think ull ever need that much ram for emulating ps2 games but doesnt hurt. Im not good with words speaking them, i dont have a good accent, i fear i wouldnt be understood so i decided not to make a video of setting up ur pcsx2 otherwise i would do it in a heartbeat also i wont do the text thing, it looks silly. So this is good step by step, but somethings u dont have to do, or u can to it easier and is more practical (resolution). Use safe preset on speedhack, if it doesnt work use aggressive, wont make a big mess if u ask me. Still better then not running the game at all. It all comes down to the individual games, some u can play with the same settings, some u need to change up. Like changing the renderer from directx to opengl, there are games that runs and looks better on opengl, for example just cause or cold winter. But it needs more umpf from ur pc, so be sure u want that, it might go from playable to laggy mess. MTVU u better check that option from speedhacks, if u have more then 3 cores, in some cases ull need to disable it to launch the game at all, but those game in number are few. This video shows its off, turn it on better that way, wont affect how the game looks, but itll boost up ur fps.
Will it be ok if i have USA bios at 2:14? Also will changing the memory card capacity play a role in game performance. The reason i don't want to delete 8mb cards is because of save files from fullmetal alchemist 2 and other games.
The fix is just the GSDX plugin. The older version works much better for some reason. I would recommend you edit description and just upload the dll it works with any version of pcsx2, since the version you showed is no longer available.

You will also want to enable HW Hacks and then go to advanced settings and hacks, check Align Sprite and Alpha. This will prevent some blurring ghosting effects.
MattC78 didn't see the need to eneable it with this game but in my jak 3 video it was a must idk about the preformance impact of those options on older hardware
Yes I am using a GTX 1080. I am also using PCSX2 Version 1.4.0 with Dev GS Plugins, Direct3D 11 Hardware mode. I was getting a blurry effect on the edges of the screen in 16:9. It was also causing some blurry ghosting effects in the Quark Vid Comic modes. This fixed the issue for me

A budget laptop for $300 and this actually works on it. I didn't set the computer resolution to 1080p it just currently on 480p to increase frame rate.

Worked like a charm on my old i5-2400 with gtx 750ti on full hd with constant 50 fps. :) I have changed the resolution to 1280:1024(4:3) because the game seems strethed to me at 16:9 resolution.

Still helpful even in 2020, out of all the videos on optimizing and changing the pcsx2 settings this one was by far the best and helped the most (and for the specific game I downloaded the emulator for), thanks bro I've been trying a lot of stuff to get to work well this definitely helped as well as keeping the game looking good (the anisotropic filtering and mipmapping helps a lot with looks when the original ps2 picture is stretched to fit my monitor :P)
also, im not sure if its just cause my pc (i have a 6 core cpu running at 3.6-8ghz, 16gbs of ram, and an nvidea 2gb gpu) but I noticed my performance/speed/fps is much better when i have my preset setting on the slider at 3-5, I think its the speedhacks that help speed it up, turbo also works similar with a lower preset but I think the turbo x2 your speed where as the preset slider setting changes it so that it only speeds up when the game/frame slows down so in menus/pause screen or whenever the game isnt slowed down you'll def notice the double times speed/turbo just cause of the audio and other things, so the preset speed hack settings on the slider work better in my opinion just cause it keeps the game close to a consistent speed (for me it sticks to around 100% speed)

U dont need to do the no disc and boot bios thing, that wont change how the game runs. Also u dont need to type in ur resolution, just go with the native options, its more convenient and easier for those who dont know what resolution they are at, etc. I know some ppl who dont care about these things just playing the games. What can i say they are out there trust me. So go native. 2x native is 720p, 3x is 1080p, in the newest version of pcsx2 ull have it described if u choose those natives, so ull know, where u at. Also select ps2 billinear texture filtering and use similar setup as in the video, except for the resolution. The setup for the controller, well do this only if u have what he has, otherwise, if u have a generic gamepad orsomethign, just go in controllers PAD plugin settings and set up, buttons and whatnot to ur liking or how it should be on a ps2-3-4 pad. And hm ur good to go. Dont bother with audio, most game (like 99% that run on pcsx2 has no issues, or at least those that i tried didnt have any, or im deaf). also when u go video/windows setting, u can switch up 4/3 and 16/9 res. if the game wont run one of them. This game runs 16/9, so u should select that as in the video. U can check for the mouse pointer to disappear when playing the game, so it wont bother u. Thats about it.
U should be good to go. Launch games with boot iso fast, dont do the full, unless the game wont run with fast (there are some examples, but far and few between, u should be fine with at least this game).
So this video is alright except the bios setting, u dont need to do that really and for the resolution selection, u dont need to put in ur own native, u just select multiplying option 2x-3x-4x-5x-6x etc.
Also u extract wherever u want and name folders whatever u want. I didnt hear him explaining that, it was like u must do as he was telling u. U dont. U dont have to even do a separate folder for the isos, if u dont want to do that. U can though. Its ur choice.
I did my own thing setting up pcsx2 and games running just great 4k, on 1080p display they look as awesome as a ps2 game can look. Also u can play around with shaders in video plugin options, it can make an impact how the game looks or u can download some custom settings for shaders etc. Search google u have some options there.

If u want the game running for u good, ull need a decent cpu+gpu combo and at least 4gb ram, to be safe 8gb ram is best. I dont think ull ever need that much ram for emulating ps2 games but doesnt hurt. Im not good with words speaking them, i dont have a good accent, i fear i wouldnt be understood so i decided not to make a video of setting up ur pcsx2 otherwise i would do it in a heartbeat also i wont do the text thing, it looks silly. So this is good step by step, but somethings u dont have to do, or u can to it easier and is more practical (resolution).
Use safe preset on speedhack, if it doesnt work use aggressive, wont make a big mess if u ask me. Still better then not running the game at all. It all comes down to the individual games, some u can play with the same settings, some u need to change up. Like changing the renderer from directx to opengl, there are games that runs and looks better on opengl, for example just cause or cold winter. But it needs more umpf from ur pc, so be sure u want that, it might go from playable to laggy mess. MTVU u better check that option from speedhacks, if u have more then 3 cores, in some cases ull need to disable it to launch the game at all, but those game in number are few. This video shows its off, turn it on better that way, wont affect how the game looks, but itll boost up ur fps.

Will it be ok if i have USA bios at 2:14? Also will changing the memory card capacity play a role in game performance. The reason i don't want to delete 8mb cards is because of save files from fullmetal alchemist 2 and other games.
The fix is just the GSDX plugin. The older version works much better for some reason. I would recommend you edit description and just upload the dll it works with any version of pcsx2, since the version you showed is no longer available.
