William Reunites with his Father | Heath Ledger | A Knight's Tale
Years ago this hit me as a son. Now it hits me as a father.
bravo
I don't know you, but I love you man
I agree
Best comment in years!
I'm not a man and don't have children, but it brings tears to my eyes...😢
For a comedy movie this scene really hits like a brick. The amount of emotion in the eyes of the father… so beautifully acted. RIP to both Heath and Christopher
Like a truck! I can't avoid the tears, every single time... Great actors indeed! RIP
His dad didn't have much screentime but by god did he act his heart out in what time he had.
Oscar worthy
The late great English actor Christopher Cazenove.
A son has no idea how much a father loves them until they have a son of their own. This scene kicks my ass every time.
Christopher Cazenovas real son died 1999 in a car accident, just before this movie was filmed.
Keep that in mind, when watching this scene.
Much love to all the fathers out there, who lost a child!
A beautifully written, directed and acted scene. No hint of cheesiness - just pure emotion.
The dad deserves an Oscar for that scene alone ! Felt so real
I cannot make it through this scene without losing it. Good lord, the beats, the writing, and acting are brilliant.
Damn can't stop crying to this scene. It is just so great. Both just great actors.
How many times have I watched this? MANY. How often does it make me cry? EVERY TIME
To, Heath Ledger, Thank you for sharing, when you were here.
A man can change his stars...
Heath.... thank you for your acting. This is very moving and touching to me. REST IN PEACE, MY BROTHER!
Heath! What a GREAT ROLE you had in this film!!!! We miss you soooo much!!!!! RIP. When I knew about your death, this came to me as a nightmare!
thks for the thumbs up!!!
Heath ledger ... a angel among the angels ...
Doesn't matter how many times I watch this movie, this scene moves this 6'2" 225lb military veteran to tears.
You're not a 6.2 military vet, gtfo.
Reminds Me of My Son&I.I Cry each Time I See it!!I'm Quite Disabled, used to Be 6'&235-45lbs.He's 6'8"+&255lbs+.A Fathers Pride!
You're both lying through your teeth.
@@aarons6935awwww keyboard warrior a lil salty??? Why would they lie? Guess you're the know it all 😂😂😂
As an O.I.F. veteran this one gets me too every time. I'm 6', 235, is that a lie too? My son is non-verbal autistic and I wish he could just say one sentence to me at 8....is that a lie?
Not that you would know anything about that. As pantera once said "walk on home...boy!" Careful mate....
@giveematug7093 salty? Nah just enjoy calling out BS. Seems it worked, got you responding didnt it babe?
"Sometimes we always see him sitting at the window but nobody knows why".He is waiting for his son to find his feet back home🙏
I cry at this scene every.single.time.
This will forever be Heath Ledger best move.
The dark Knight is a contender
I don't think so, he did Joker so well. But this movie is one of my favorites, one of his most memorable.
TDK is great but only portrays one side of Ledger’s talent. This movie gave Ledger the opportunity to show off his range. I consider this movie a cult classic
I wish i could see my dad one last time
God bless you
I’m not moved to tears that much in movies but this scene it nearly gets me every time 🥺
In my opinion, this is one of the best parts of the movie :)
I loved every movie he was ever in he played his heart out
R.I.P Mr Heath Ledger 1979-2008.
The way he reaches out to hand to embrace his son at 4:10 hits so different. I think the fact they wrote him as blind made this scene more powerful.
Never fails to bring tears to my eyes
I had tears. All the time.
no matter how many times I see this scene it still makes me tear up. Most powerful scene in the whole movie for me.
Cry every time I see this scene
The little look he gives her - faking like he might not trust her. I love it
one of the most extraordinary scenes I have seen in a lifetime!!!
thanks for the thumbs up!

Makes me cry each time. Pause for a moment and watch Healths reaction and body language from behind. Imagine his reaction on camera too.
I watch this full movie at least a couple times a year. Simply brilliant.
The little girl is probably the biggest gossip in the whole Cheapside 😂
How in the hell do you expect a 9 year old to keep a secret like that?
I know why John Thatcher sits at his high window, even though his eyes can no longer see the sun. He is not looking for sunlight, or fresh air, or even a pretty view of London. He is waiting and watching for his son to find his stars, and follow his feet back home to his father's door, so that they can be together again. That is his heart's wish, even if he never says so... to be with his son again. I love that the very first thing his father gets to hear William say, after all those years of waiting, is that his son has become a knight....play-acting as a knight, perhaps, but still, a knight. And then, you can see the joy shining in his father's eyes as he realizes this knight brings word of his son. You can see the pride in his eyes as he hears of his son's history and hears that his son is alive and doing very well. And you can feel the overwhelming wave of joy that envelopes them both as they embrace and find their way back to each other. And we can see the joy in William's expression...that his father not only remembers him, but loves him and William he sees his father and they are together again.
Still breaks my heart. I nursed my dad near the end. We finally bonded a bit.
My favorite Heath Ledger movie.
This is one of my favourite movies, I have watched it at least 20 times and I have cried every single time when this scenes comes around. Magnificently acted
This truly is one of if not the best movie of all time.
I love this scene. This makes me cry so much.
Gets me all teary-eyed always
Miss you Mr. ledger very much
Most touching.
Who’s chopping onions 🧅 here 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Regardless if you're not a father or son, but if you're both, this scene really hits a lot,the way his father looks at him realizing that he knows he made it and he is a knight, really gets me and Heath really plays it so well as him too, very favorite scene of mine 💚💚
Hollywood is famous for their historical inaccuracies (to remain polite), but that movie really took it to a whole new level
Yes! That net he's repairing! Clearly a 17th-century-style weave! Shocking!
RIP Heath Ledger. I pray when it's my time, I will meet you in Heaven. 🙏
With Hollywood as crap as it is, how the hell did a movie this good ever get made?
Because it wasn’t made in Hollywood.
hermosa escena.
He didn’t change his stars by taking on the name Ulrich. He changed them when he respected a princes determination.
" you know ? You remembered me my father ... I LOVED MY FATHER !
that squint he does at 0:48 is very joker-like
This scene always make me cry...from bum to knight...this movie, i love this movie.
This is my favorite scene in this movie, it always make me cry though.
She is so adorable.
I love my dad.
Happy Farther's Day here in the UK.

Una escena muy conmovedora
Splinter from a lance must've gotten in my eye

Some one in here know about were is the location of this city, when he arrive to see his dad? Thanks
Jezaz im crying
anybody else notice that lady in the back dragging that empty cart to the side for absolutely no reason?
I still don’t understand how Count Adamar deduced who he was from this. So what if a Knight visited an old man?
You could deduce from what the little girl said that none of the neighbors knew of William and that he could have possibly been the reason why he waited by the window sometimes.
In olden times like this, it’s was considered uncommon or undignified for men of noble blood to mingle with peasants. Count Adamar used this as a means to deduce that William was not what he seemed.
There was a deleted scene where Adamar gets a visit from someone from Gelderland who tells him there’s no one there by the name of Ulrich von Liechtenstein
@@sonofmoss see, that’s believable. They should have kept that bit in. Oh well
Yeah made me cry like a b...
A So Tragic Period!

😮😮😮❤🎉
Great movie in my opinion loved them 90s movies no political garbage or race issues just entertainment
Very underrated movie. Just fun and funny like you said. No nonsense.
Yeah... a movie about how unfair and ridiculous the idea of nobility is, and how the family you are born into and your wealth should not be the sole determinants of your lot in life, doesn't have any political message.
There's no trans recognition in this. It's a phobic movie that only promotes supremacy and subjectnation of the minority
This film brothe is from 2007.
@@tommccarthy7644 The OP obviously referred to Current Year politics infesting the movie scene, not antiquated feudal society norms. Give your head a shake.

I hope one day a certain Olympic medallist from my country recognizes his real family and be welcomed back in their embrace
I would like to travel abroad and be happy. And teach. I'm pregnant at the moment so yeah I have a baby inside my stomach.
T_T
This movie is criminally underrated.
