    That was a perfect description - actually the first one that I was able to understand and to follow! Thank you so much!

      Thanks David, glad it was useful. There's not much online training out there at the moment, so we were hoping this will fulfil a need.

    Very good explanation!
    I like that i can switch between different workflows in Colornavigator7. Most time i have settings for prepress production and sometimes i can switch to a photostudios workflow and lighting…

    That's a lot of ideas presented, many of which you simply glossed over in the interest of time. I was surprised by some of your statements. Thank you for taking the time.

    Thank you for this informative video. Two questions: does CN7 work with CS2420-bk? Do I still need to choose a specific ICC profile in the computer corresponding to the chosen calibration profile of the monitor?

    Hi, thank you for the excellent explanations! Do you recommend to calibrate your monitor in a dark room or in the usual working conditions? Unfortunately I work (photography editing) in a shared office and my lighting conditions are not the optimal ones you described, I have to deal with lights bulbs and windows have blue curtains.

    Thank you! If the images should be used for several different outputs in the and, like different printing houses and also for the web, which mode to use for editing the images in Photoshop? (And the images contains fabrics that need to match the physical product as well -for all outputs) Thanks

    I have used an EIZO for over 10 years, using CG 241W. I do mostly headshots and portraits, and had good success with that monitor. I decided it was time to upgrade to EIZO CG 2730. I have been struggling to get the calibration correct, it uses color navigator 7, with internal calibration. I have spoken to the techs at EIZO several times, the last time they did a computer share where they were in control of the computer, trying several different calibrations. The current settings are cd 100, Black level minimum, White Point 5000K, GAMMA 2.20, Priority Standard, Gamut Native. I have a windows 10 desktop, same as the CG 241W. I also compare 2 test prints, and the issue seems to be, there is too much red. The techs tried to reduce the red by using the advanced functions. I just wanted to know if there are any other options that I can pursue. Thank you. Dan

    I use EIZO monitor CG2730. I have the colors set and my images are coming out good. I do however would like to make the Pink more vivid. My pinks come out pale, almost white. How do I make Pink more vivid without effecting the other colors. Thank you. Dan

    I find anything above 60candelas too bright. In fact I mostly work at the lowest possible which is 45 but I think I can boost it to at least 60 when printing. Is that high enough? How would that affect my prints?

      Probably your room is way too dark. 80-100 is the Recomended setting

    Hello, I just received my monitor today and I find it hard to work through, the version of the latest colourNAvigator7 is different(the menu window and options) than the one presented. I work on windows x64. I just have 3 profiles assigned atm, Adobe rgb, srgb and cal3 which has "print proofing"in the drop down menu and some other option. Cal1 and 2 are in grey but if I click any of them, everything is inactive. I would appreciate assistance.

    Thank you Rocco for this content. Just a question, if the cameras can only see in RGB, how you use the Prophoto RGB and take the advantage of the native colour space of Eizo?

    • @arcticsound7341
      @arcticsound7341 2 роки тому +1

      There is no such colour space as RGB...you may be referring to sRGB which is narrower gamut than that of ProPhoto RGB. You can "use" the native colour space of a wide gamut Eizo monitor by accurately profiling the monitor and using it in the correct lighting, but you will never be able to add colours to a photo which was captured in sRGB and "take advantage" of the wider gamut of the monitor. Note that almost all cameras will capture in either sRGB or Adobe RGB (or another wide gamut space). Shoot in Raw and capture in Adobe RGB, and only convert to sRGB at export stage if you need to.

    If only clients would understand this... "why does this image look so yellow and warm!?.....maybe because you are looking at the photo on the screen of 15 year old laptop"....

      @@sharpe_sam I cannot "proof" my work for a gazillion different types of screens. That's just dumb. Best I can do is ask where this is used. If it's going for web (like 99% of cases) then all I can do is make sure it looks good on srgb/DCIp3. If the viewers monitor is crap then that's really not something I can affect. Nor will I "proof" my work for the worst case scenario if it means that it will look like garbage everywhere else.
      Case in point, dynamic range. Some screens can't handle highlights nor shadows very well and they all become one white/dark grey blob. I can't fix that for them if it's their equipment letting them down.
