  • What should be the role of Christians in building peace and justice in a society? How can they bring about change in a non-violent manner? Faced with these issues which are very topical for many countries, we can build on the example of the "Peaceful Revolution" in East Germany in 1989. The mobilization of Christians, both Catholics and Protestants, in prayer and organizing large peaceful demonstrations was instrumental in bringing down the Berlin Wall and ending 40 years of dictatorship non-violently.
Net for God releases this film on the 25th anniversary of German reunification, 3 October 1990. It takes us to meet leading witnesses of this period: both activists and ordinary citizens: painter, photographer, Lutheran pastor ... the film's keynote speaker is Wolfgang Thierse, former president of the German Parliament and committed Catholic who lived through all the stages from oppression to the advent of democracy.
This movie was produced by the Chemin Neuf Community via the international prayer network " Net for God".
